As a Newcastle fan I don't understand why Lewis is arguing with the predictions. With champions league football I would be over the moon with 6ths and wouldn't argue with a Chelsea team that's playing a hell of alot better than last year finishing above us.
Its more the narrative around champions league creating problems when other teams around us are in Europe too. We have good depth now and are still buying, we will finish top 6

If Newcastle get top 6, a decent domestic cup run, & either get out of group in UCL or far in Europa, then it is a good season! We were fighting relegation two years ago!
I think Newcastle could easily get to top 4 this season only City, Arsenal, and Liverpool look like they could finish top 4. United need a complete reset most of the players don’t fit Ten Hags system. Chelsea on paper look good but they aren’t clicking. Brighton and Spurs from the first 2 game look more competitive than Chelsea and United.
Yes this Lewis dosent seem to know history of these clubs even few years back. Only to last season, so it aint ridiculous to put Newcastle fifth, if Liverpool makes comeback, when Newcastle aint part of the big six clubs, so thats why I dont think it will stay in top four. I also think Newcastle will get fifth position after this season.

As a newcastle fan I’d be over the moon with 6th, I can’t see us getting ahead of city arsenal United Chelsea and Liverpool. Who knows about spurs but Brighton and villa also looking amazing and will be battling with us for 8th-6th

As a United fan, I think it’s crazyyyyy how well they think we will do. Like yes we did strengthen, but there’s question marks with our new ST. What if he doesn’t hit the ground and running? What if he gets injured? He’s already injured and we haven’t even started! We need a lot of players to step up if we want to have a good season. Really hoping Sancho and Antony prove themselves. But we’ll see!
Yh I agree. This season is huge for Sancho and Antony. If they step up and our other good players stay consistent then we could have a really strong season. If not then it’s 3rd at best for me.

Really ? I think they're being quite pessimistic. United are absolutely finishing above Liverpool, it begs to be seen if they can catch up with arsenal but I think Ten Hag is absolutely cooking at the moment. A complete spine change in the team and increased squad depth, players adapting to his system and young players coming in are all going to work to their advantage.

As soon as Poch suffers a few poor results the Chelsea fanbase will turn. He also really struggled dealing with Ego's at PSG, which doesn’t bode well for that dressing Room. And also these "ego's" that you're talking about has all been sold, except for Lukaku and Ziyech, but they will hardly be a problem. As a Newcastle fan I would 100% take a top 7 place. It’s a rebuild of our entire club. It’s a marathon not a sprint. I’d even take a top 8/9, we have to slowly progress.

We (Blackpool) were around mid table until after Winter in that 10/11 season, where the lack of investment (specifically in goal) eventually caught up with us and we just plummeted.
Blackpool done 1 season and finished 19th, they were midtable around Christmas

As a realistic united fan, their is no way were arsenal's level, they are much more developed into their system then we are as pre season playing ten hag's tactics (3-1-6) at ajax went pretty bad until the 2nd half at lens when we went back to counter attack fc

Surprised to see everyone so high on United. I think they’re a lock for top 4, but I don’t see a title challenge. They were lucky to have as many points as they did last year considering how few goals they scored. I think it’s City v Arsenal for the title, with United, Liverpool, and Newcastle battling for top 4.
Top 4 isn’t even a lock in my eyes and im a United fan. Liverpool will be wanting their top 4 spot back so I can see 3 (or 4 teams with Villa) fighting for 2 spots. Especially considering we still don’t have a proven striker and Mounts been stinky in pre season.

I really dont get the hype around ManU. they were not a good team last year, they were a fairly average team. If Liverpool hadn't lost some very silly games against lower tier teams, they would've finished 3rd. United scored 58 goals last season to amass 75 points. That, more than any other team that finished in the top 6 is a blip. The lowest goals in the past 10 years by a team that got 3rd was Chelsea in 2018/19 to get 72 points on 63 goals to finish 3rd. The average goals/season for 3rd place the past 10 years is 69...United need to find at least 10 more goals to even keep 3rd. And I don't think they have a deep enough attacking squad to achieve that. They also conceded 43 which is also above by the mean by 7 goals. their GD for the season of 15 is less than half the mean for any team that finished 3rd the past 10 years. That Chelsea team in 2018/19 had a GD of 28...In other words, I think a United regression is more likely than them holding 3rd.
West Ham I think will be alright they just signed Alvarez from Ajax. I think that’s a good Rice replacement

people putting united above arsenal saying arsenal will struggle with champions league games on top PL games is so confusing to me. have they forgotten united are also in the champions league and that they arguably have a worst squad than arsenal. just seems like a weird and illogical statement to me. maybe united will finish above them but to use that argument just doesnt really make sense to me. United have had champions league football recently tho. Not saying that I would have them over Arsenal but don’t act like it’s the same
utd played the most games in europe last season bar man city, won the league cup, fa cup final with a worse squad than we have this season with players settling in ten hags system and addressing most of the key positions we needed and in the league we only finished 9 points behind arsenal who had to sacrifice all their domestic competitions and europa league to maintain their league position. arsenal have strengthened massively so im not saying its clear utd will finish above them but it can go either way in this current time.

Their midfield is worse than United's and lacks depth. An injury to one midfielder and the balance is completely off as there isn't another player who can do Partey or Rice's job even close to the same level whereas United will have quality depth in all midfield positions. United just have a better spine than Arsenal do. Finished only 3 games behind Arsenal with Wout Weghorst as the main ST while playing more games in all competitions.
You have a fair point and as you said,they may have the right answer with Utd finishing above Arsenal but wrong logic.

What Theo said about Arsenal strengthening and doing well last season where they can win the league you can make the same case for Man Utd to win the league. Ten Hag has strengthened Man Utd too, where you could make a strong argument that United are just as strong as Arsenal
