They really used the actual Broadway cast for this skit. I love it! I really want to see this literally it's the best movie Lindsey Lohan ever did I'd say let her cameo on Broadway, but I feel like that's a bad idea.
Edit: 5 years later and Tina Fey did put herself into the musical movie...we've come full circle. But Lindsey should still get a cameo.

Theater is the forum for real professional actors where they are expected to show up to all commitments (rehearsals, readings, dance workshops, vocal lessons, performances, etc.) on time, prepared, and in shape. I don't think Lohan can handle cameoing for 8 shows a week without causing some sort of disruption.

Second, my list of commitments were just examples of commitments expected of actors performing in the theatre but it was not meant to imply every production has the same commitments of all of them...even in community theater where there are rehearsals and off-stage work that needs to be done. I only used those that would apply to Mean Girls.
Third, and choreography is one aspect of preproduction that is constantly getting tweaked, but dancers constantly have to work out and continue taking dance classes to keep up with the demands of the production and to learn other ways of moving for the next production. Often times, on a big production like Mean Girls on Broadway, the dancers have to do workshops hosted by the choreographer/lead dancer so they stay fresh and don't slack off during the production.
Also, vocal lessons are not something one only does in "preproduction" (I am assuming you're thinking that putting on a theatrical production is similar to film which is why you use the word "preproduction" which in the theatre context is not the same at all as a theatre production goes through workshops, out-of-town tryouts (this only applies to most Broadway productions), constant tweaks, previews, before opening night and even then the show isn't really "frozen" as changes are constantly made, performances evolve, etc.). Even the most established Broadway vocalists are consistently going to voice classes even when they are performing in a production.
