      @@HistorianDude Right, Garland wasn't convicted. But he did the same thing for which Bannon was convicted, defied a congressional subpoena, yet faced no consequence, while Bannon was tried and sent to prison. This is obviously what the commenter meant, and you knew that.

      Bannon asserted a privilege that was not his to assert. Garland did not.

      Garland asserts his privilege everyday, he’s had charges of contempt on him, he uses his position to create, tip toe around, and completely twist and disregard the law and uses it as he sees fit…..as recently as now putting an unofficial, illegitimate Jack Smith on as a special counsel prosecutor for Trump. The guy (Garland) does what he wants, when he wants, and however he wants, Constitution and law be damned……so Garland asserts privilege that’s he’s not legally or Constitutionally privileged to do……

      @@sfall616 Bannon was convicted nearly two years ago of two counts of contempt of Congress: one for refusing to sit for a deposition with the Jan. 6 House Committee and the other for refusing to provide documents related to his involvement in Trump’s efforts to overturn his 2020 presidential election loss to Democrat Joe Biden

      Here, in the objective universe, it's okay when its okay and it's not when it's not. "Sides" have nothing to do with it. Circumstances do.
      For example, while Bannon and Navarro were charged, Meadows and Scavino were not... and for the same identical reason that Garland was not. Meadows, Scavino and Garland actually DID have a legitimate claim to executive privilege, while Bannon and Navarro did not.
      If it was just a matter of "sides," Meadows and Scavino would not have skated.
      This stuff is not exactly rocket science. You simply need to pay better attention.

      Why would you want SCOTUS to help Bannon? That seems a disproportionate action. Bannon is one guy who broke the law. SCOTUS has more important things to deal with.

    I thought the Supreme Court came out with a ruling already, that a criminal trial must have a unanimous guilty verdict on a specific crime, on how the law is stated, without a cafeteria plan prosecution presented to jurors by a judge to pick from, or the trial is void???

      There was a unanimous guilty verdict on 34 counts of the specific crime charged in the indictment.
      The "cafeteria plan" was only in regard to the intent element of the crime, not the crime itself.

      The original charges (for which Trump pardoned him) was the "Build the Wall" scam in which Bannon and his co-conspirators embezzled millions of dollars in donations from the MAGA faithful.
      At least one of his co-conspirators (who didn't get a Trump pardon) received a 4 1/4 years prison sentence.
      The charge for THIS sentence is criminal contempt of congress.
      Bannon's also going for trial soon on the original fraud charges, except at the state level where Trump had no pardon power.

    J6 committee was illegitimate and as so the committee had no power to serve a subpoena or one that should be considered legal since the committee did not follow any rules set to be able to put forth a subpoena and that should make his charges vioded

    It is important that any convicted murderer not be locked up until all appeals are exhausted. if their appeal were to be successful, how could they get their tine back? Clearly, nobody should be incarcerated until all appeals are exhausted.
