- The Seattle Aquarium's campus is growing! In this video, narrated by our Senior Director of Capital Projects Susan Bullerdick, visit the Ocean Pavilion construction site and see what we’ve been working on. Thousands of people in our region have come together to make this project happen. In summer 2024, you’ll be able to relax on the Ocean Pavilion's public rooftop park, greet tropical reef dwellers from an oculus in the public plaza and-when you come inside-journey to a new part of Earth’s one ocean. Pretty well. It’s built to the highest seismic standards
It's built to modern seismic standards so it will probably hold up better than a lot of other buildings
It seems well-designed enough. If there’s a major subduction zone earthquake, this aquarium is going to be the last of anyone’s concerns.
Yes makes perfect sense to build this in an earthquake zone. Just another reason after living in Seattle for over 34 years I had to get out.
