  • It's been a month of Covid, back problems and lousy weather. I have some motorcycle adventures coming up, but decided to take the first nice Sunday in a while to walk down the Seattle waterfront and see what's new.
The waterfront has been in the process of redevelopment since I moved here in 2018. In 2019 the old Alaskan Way viaduct came down, opening up this area in a way it hasn't been in more than 50 years. Since then, they've rebuilt the road, created a new road up into the Belltown neighborhood, rebuilt the ferry terminal, and almost completed a new aquarium building across from the water, that includes in its design a road overpass and stairway/escalators down from the Pike Place Market to the waterfront, finally connecting those major attractions.
There have also been some new piers (one done, one still in process) and lots of other little things.
I also came across the Classic Yachts Association's annual boat show at the Bell Harbor Marina. That one is in its own video.
