  • After leaving Bangkok we boarded a 30hr overnight train to Kuala Lumpur. We first spent 18 hours in a 2nd class Thai sleeper train until reaching the Padang Besar border crossing. This is where we then boarded our 6 hour fast train to experience what its like to travel Economy and Business class in Malaysia.

    Very good trip. I did once, long time ago, KL-Bangkok-KL. Now, the train look modern and comfortable. Have a pleasant stay in Malaysia.

      I really hope that you guys did more things in KL this time, like visiting the Petronas Twin Towers in KLCC, the KL Pavilion in Bukit Bintang, the Merdeka Square and the colonial walk near the river of life, try nasi lemak, Ramly burger, char kway teow, roti canai etc and plenty more to do than just that. 😄

    • @alexandwhite

    Nice! I personally, a 30 hours train would not be my first choice because while traveling,as always, time on the road is always such a premium. But a leisurely train ride is enjoyable as it's less hectic. I think you're shooting a FF Sony, seems it's struggling nailing focus quickly, but the general footage and audio is great!

    • @alexandwhite
      @alexandwhite  Před 8 měsíci

      Yeah normally we would just take the 2hr flight to save time haha but it was nice not having to pay for hotel and just relax not doing anything for a bit

    Fuel price is almost double in Thailand compare to Malaysia so SRT train servicrs are kept cheap and heaviliy subsidized so the trains are less modern but reliable and affordablemfor the masses and connect. BANGKOK to many parts of Thailand. Malaysians even poor ones generally prefer driving and bus with KTM services losing popularity until electrification and double tracking brought nre elecric trains that are modern.
