    Well said minister DP. Quality governance... Equally distrbute of wealth will hold this country together. Let Bougainvillea crisis be a painful lesson to be learnt. If leaders keep enriching themselves at the expense of everyone, then that will end up in disintegration and breakup of this nation. Give Bougainvillea independence and I pray that leaders will use this event as stepping stone to strengthen PNG to grow stronger. May God bless PNG and Bougainvillea.

    Bougainville go out first, then New Island with Manus will follow second, thirdly East and West New Britain, at the same time East and West Sepik will break away, soon after the southern region will break away leaving the Highlands provinces with Madang and Morobe as Papua New Guinea. The main reason here is mishandling the wealth of this country by the successive governments of PNG and foreigners and twisting and turning of the once most honorable Constitution.

    Bottom line is there is no equal distribution of wealth. Every thing is controlled at the national level. Like AROB citizens are tired of lack of basic services, decrease in economic growth, mismanagement of people's resources & destruction of our environment, etc. Pngians are hardworking, each province has its own capable people to run its affairs & do it. Surely, other provinces will break away too. They don't need.a government which seems to be incompetent, controlling &. suppressive.

    Don Polye is bold and he is very fond in his statement. Yes Bougainville ought to be considered for self determination and Independence should we consider their history well. As a Papua New Guinean I agree with Don Polye in his statement and sentiments to support this referendum based on the Bougainville people's choice based on his analysis on historical narrative.

    Before Independence, two groups opposed Independence . Bougainville Secessionist Movement and Papua Besena. A referendum should have been conducted at that time. Failure by Labour Party and UN in not facilitating a referendum resulted in a bloody Civil war in Bougainville. Give Independence to Bougainville. To date there was no referendum to merge Papua and New Guinea and also no referendum to break away from Australia . Papuan referendum is still pending. Papua was an Australian Territory unlike New Guinea.

    Who will suffer the Most ,the Mixed Bougainvillians with other Provinces in Papua New Guinea . Thousands of Mixed Bougainvillians will suffer the most . Also God made Bougainville to be an Integral Part of PNG and should PNG give Independence to Bougainville ,other Provinces in PNG will also want to break away and Foreign Dogs are already in the Country and would grab the break away provinces . Allan Bird has recently suggested to make East Sepik an Autonomous Province and whilst Racial and Ethnicity are very tense in Provinces and definitely provinces would become Independent to manage their own affairs .

  • @stevenmorot3914
    @stevenmorot3914 Před 28 dny

    Autonomy would be ok for all regions as united state of America and not independent to Bouganville otherwise all provincial governors would also go the same way.

    I do not agree with this reasoning.
    Firstly, png including this politician is encouraging png to disintegrate!!!!
    It looks like all these so called political leadet do not know how to properly handle the bougainville issue.
    They should handle this issue like any responsible colonizers handling of powers to their colony. Ofcourse there have been bloodshed but the way Michael Somare Bill Skate and other leaders were able to bring peace and initiated peace agreements should be pursued and acted upon and not delayed unnecessarily.

      ....no, ESP does not have to join West Papua, it itself can become an independent, sovereign nation of its own, with both East and West Sepik united to from a Greater Sepik or Union of Greater Sepik. Thus, like Sepik, Southern region, New Britain, New Ireland, etc....these provinces will be waiting to see what happens, then, they, too, will call for their respective referendums, that, mark my words, for each province/region they will also have 90-100 percent support, and so, like Bougainville, must be also granted their respective calls for independence.
      PNG, as a country, can be kissed goodbye, thanks to the wisdom and intelligence of today's PNG crop of politicians.
