  • Papua New Guinea Prime Minister James Marape has hailed his country's friendship with Australia in a historic speech to the Australian parliament.
    It's the first address of its kind by a Pacific Island leader and comes as PNG and Australia build on a security deal signed last year.
    "The amount of work Australia put into the administration of Papua New Guinea can never be ignored by Papua New Guineans,' Mr Marape said.
    "History holds all of the details, but the greatest and most profound Australian rule impact of the Australian administration is the democracy you left with us.
    "The imprint of Australia is second to none in Papua New Guinea."

    • @allen3273
      @allen3273 Před 5 měsíci +12

      @@soniaplunkett9816 PNG is a Christian country and will always be a Christian country. We believe in one true God of the Bible. God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. So when we pray, we pray to God Almighty in the name of Jesus Christ, The Saviour (Yeshua Hamashiach). God's name is many but He is ONE God. He is Elohim, Adonai, Jehovah, I Am, etc. In fact the Jews never mentioned His name, they spelt God's name as Yud-Hey-Vav-Hey. Our God is the Creator of everything that is seen and unseen. Things in heaven and on earth, thrones, dominions, rules, authorities were created and exist through Him.

    • @soniaplunkett9816

      @@allen3273 Again God is a title. There are many lords and many gods. saying dear god or dear lord is like saying hey you. You have a name and are called by that name, what makes you think Our Heavenly Almighty Father YHWH is any different? You can't know anyone personally if you cant identify them by name or choose not to call them by name. Who are the group of people that will be told by Yahushua himself Go away I never knew you"?? We ALL need to make sure we are not one of these, myself included.

    • @allen3273
      @allen3273 Před 5 měsíci +4

      @@soniaplunkett9816 Yes I agree with you. God is a title. In fact as Christian, I don't even need to know the name of God to be connected to Him. All I need to know is the ESSENCE of God's Name. Like for instance using the five letter word Jesus or Yeshua or Yehushua as you mentioned doesn't mean anything to God. In fact Joshua is also called Yehushua which means Salvation or Saviour. The key here is how one relate to the name. The essence, the character, the very nature of that person, to take on the qualities of that person, to be like that person. This is what makes the difference. Anybody can pray and use the name of God in his or her own language (the beauty of different languages God gave us) and doesn't have to know the specific name(s)of God as long as that person knows who he is praying to, have a good relationship with God, having the qualities, personalilties and characteristics and striving to be LIKE God. Not to become but to be like God. Knowing the Essence of the name of God.

    As a Papua New Guinean, I understand the concerns surrounding Australian taxpayer funds being directed to our country. However, it's crucial to consider the broader implications of this support. It's not merely about providing financial assistance; it's also about cultivating strong partnerships and bolstering regional stability through the dissemination of influence and the provision of aid to neighboring nations in need. While many Australian citizens may prioritize redirecting their taxpayer funds internally, we must acknowledge the potential ramifications. If Australia withdraws its support, there's a risk of China emerging as a prominent player in the Pacific, which could introduce security challenges. While collaboration with China could offer opportunities, we tend to prioritize our traditional partners (family) when it comes to security matters. Ultimately, stability and peace serve as the foundation for prosperity. Therefore, it's crucial for AusAid to continue if Australia wishes to maintain its position as a key player in Oceania. ✌
