    Now, finally we see a real leader who knows of what he is doing. He had no notes. He is a natural leader. Some of our MPs can use this as an example for their own situations. Imagine if all of our MPs had his level of focus on the agendas they represent. He clearly understands the topic from the top of his head. Great speech, Mr. President.

    His speech is deep. He knows his course. I sense a spirit of war, blood, and cry of freedom. He will never stop fighting for liberation for his people. He is a lion, a warrior, and a leader who knows what he wants.
    He is not ready to put his guns down!
    PNG Gov, please, for once, under the leadership of PM JM, amend the constitution and set them free.

    Very eloquent speech from President Toroama.
    PNG has a lot to gain if we allow Bougainville to have their independence. We should be thinking outside the box when dealing with AROB. Most of the arguments against ratifying the referendum is purely based on negatives that may, or may not happen.
    There is potential for substantial gain for PNG if AROB becomes independent.
    It would be interesting to see how the PNG Government deal with AROB's desire for self-determination.

    I support for Bougainville Independence but not at this time. This time the Autonomous Bougainville Government must work really hard to build the economy in preparation for independence. They must not inherit the corrupt practices of Papua New Guinea in their public service mechanism. The leaders must be zero tolerance of corruption. Then they are prepared for independence 🙏

  • @pharaohcaesar
    @pharaohcaesar Před 20 dny +2

    There was no referendum to authorize the PNG Constitution therefore the PNG Constitution is in valid and that means that the PNG State is legally invalid. Bougainville has a referendum for independence. They will also need a referendum to validate their constitution or it will also be legally invalid. If Bougainville wants independence all they have to do is go to the PNG Supreme Court and ask the PNG Government to prove in court when the People of Bougainville ever gave their free, prior and informed consent to be ruled over by the PNG Constitution. When the PNG Government fails to provide evidence of that consent than Bougainville will automatically be free.
    This is such a simple solution to the problem. Bougainville never had to go to war. That was a mistake. All Bougainville ever needed to do was simply go to court with the PNG Government as I have just explained and they would have gotten their freedom a long time ago.
    This is true of all the Tribes in PNG. No Tribe ever gave its consent to be governed by the PNG Constitution. This is a human rights violation. The PNG Government was created without a referendum therefore it is illegal. The PNG Constitution is egregious to human rights and so the United Nations should have never recognized the Independent State of Papua New Guinea because its formation violated the U.N. Universal Charter on Human Rights.
    Somare and the other founding fathers of PNG didn't know what they were doing so they failed to create the State properly. I told Somare this to his face.
    The solution has always been there but you have to understand the law to be able to see it.

    Some honest opinion here. The consultation phase with the JSB is still being prolonged. The subject of Independence for Bougainville is now a much, much bigger issue than it would have been back 10 to 15 years ago. With Bougainville not having any institutional infrastructures already in place, it makes it a difficult proposition for the consideration of early Independence right now. There is that, and there is also the geo-political climate engulfing the Pacific region right now. If Bougainville were to get Independence now, it would create a huge geo-political security issue within the region. Recall what happened in Iraq after Sadam was taken down? When the US pulled out, IRAQ basically fell apart, and became a playground of sorts. China is just patiently waiting on the doorsteps to Bougainville, and knowing that, with Australia, NZ and the US closely watching, they would not allow for Bougainville to gain Independence as yet, until there is some Institutional control established and enforced within the region of Bougainville. Then maybe, there just might be some leeway for Independence. But who am I to say all these. Just my opinion!

    Whilst I support the idea of an independent Bougainville, the leadership of Bougainville now or before, are never charismatic enough, they're finding it hard to instil confidence and inspire the people of Bougainville, to mount support and prepare themselves..The president just said, "Bougainvillians mut feel inspired " by what the current leadership and the referendum have done to bring about independence for Bougainville. It looks like the result of the referendum should inspire the people of Bougainville, but has it? Talking about bacis government institutions of state, like a police force, CIS and even army, court systems, a central bank of Bougainville, immigration and boarder security services, and the list goes on, does Bougainville have all these important institutions of state and governance in place now?..how will Bougainville deal with these when they get independence and png pulls out with all these essentials?..Bougainville leadership and the people of Bougainville should ask for "self government ", now, and maybe 10-20years time when all these institutions of state are established and functioning, then, they can gain their independence..why the rush now?..get independence now and come cry to png for help in the essentials areas mentioned?..no one is stopping Bougainville from getting their independence, but are they able to stand on their own, economically, socially, politically and all else?..I believe there lies the answer to the reasons why Bougainville people are not inspired by the referendum result or the leadership speeches..God bless you all

      Bougainville is just following the footsteps PNG did when attained it's independence in 1975. All questions you are asking contradicts what PNG went through when it got independence.
      PNG worked to achieve the concerns for independence as it went along. Thus Bougainville is just following PNGs footsteps.
