Hearing Tomar do the Tomar impression almost immediately as the title screen comes in and he continues to read the story is so good, and we get little bits like that throughout the playthrough which is great, but if I had to choose one which is honestly tough to pick 1:32:30 never fails to put me in a good mood whenever I decide to relisten to the boys play _Zelda II: The Adventure of Link_

While I would like to see them try to complete the game they were getting close to about the half way point which is ridiculous and unnecessarily hard but I do agree

I love the thumbnails. I'm waiting for the day most of them get released in a Coffee table type flip book. All vibrant and glossy.
I love this playthrough so much. Got me to play (not just try) Zelda 2 and beat the game. Its so much fun. (use a guide for the quests though otherwise you go insane). When you play it you truly understand why they are panicking so much because the game is brutal and when you get so far you really dont want to die.
Besides weird quests and the darknut/knight enemies I think the game aged well though once you get hooked
darknuts are terrifying in this game but i think they're really fun, most other games make them fairly simple to take care of, but you have to get into a rhythm with these guys and keep pressure on them
except the blue ones with the throwing knives, those guys are just mean

I know this is years old but just want to say this is the most fun I've had watching an Oneyplays playthrough. It's no Zack video but the gameplay is enthralling
At 25:05 you all jest about the lady telling you that keys are for the palaces they are found in; however, it makes a lot of sense since, I believe in Zelda I you could use keys anywhere. Hopefully I'm not misremembering.

This game IS the original demon souls.
Honestly wouldn’t be surprised if the Souls games were inspired by Zelda II. The engaging combat with an intertwining world. Oh and the thing that sticks out the most is the fact of the exp disappearing after you die. (and of course the insane difficulty)

It's a meme at this point, but mechanics and world wise this is actually kind of like Dark Souls.
You have a point though. Like in Dark Souls progression in Z2 is tied to your own exploration and abilities rather than stuff like cutscenes and story events. It’s really well designed

i really loved this series
For NES RPGS like Zelda 2, Final Fantasy 1+2 and Dragon Warrior 1-3, you HAVE to talk to everyone because they are your only source of info on where to find secrets or important items or places in the game.
You also need to look at the manual, as most NES RPGs didn’t have enough memory to have descriptions of items you pick up or buy. The manuel usually has every item in the game listed with a description and the stat number. Also, they’re usually beautifully illustrated and sometimes include a detailed backstory. Look up the Zelda 1 and 2 instruction books to know what I mean.

Very good story. It has a few plot holes (like Goku being named son Goku even after radits says he is kakarot) and bellow average editing (like how it shows Gohan as goku’s son) but the story itself is good enough to keep me more than interesting! If it had better editing it would be one of the best what ifs I’ve ever seen

After learning Tomar was the voice actor for my favourite character in dynasty warriors (yu jin) I can’t unhear it no matter what voice he’s doing lol
Watching this just has me wanting a new legend of zelda done in this style, i don't really think it's all that bad, i like the greater focus on actual sword combat, i would really like to see a sequel to the ocarina of time, with adult link facing some threat other then gannon, and just adventuring in a big overworld, remove some of the shenanigans like the beam not hurting some of the harder enemies, or making it likely to be blocked by the ones with shields or something, there's just so much more i think they could do to make this an awesome style of zelda game
