Shoutout to Regice for being the second best ice type Regi
True
As someone who loves gen3 Regice... hurts bad man
@@r0w5tortion84 eating a stab Fire Blast just wasn't enough to have him make an impact 😔
@@bluebaron6811It needs Snow Warning, Aurora Veil and Weather Ball.
Poor poor Regice ☹️
That moment when Drago has its ability untouched while Eleki has its nerfed, yet they still felt the need to cripple Zamas ability just because its sibling was busting up ubers twice
GF will continue to be comically inconsistent with balancing attempts. It's a like a little game itself, guessing what baffling misstep they'll make next
Although I don't really feel like Zama lost in this case
My boy Zamazenta shouldn't be responsible for his sister's crimes 😭
In my opinion not one of these mons should've been touched going into Gen 9.
They screwed up in the first place by making over-centralized, busted Pokémon. Then screwed up balancing them, again.
Gamefreak really does have favorites
Not mentioning Hisuian Samurott’s Sharpness with it being a massive reason behind its strength (increasing cutting move power by 1.5x) as well was interesting
Sometimes I wonder if bkc still writes for modern generations and just doesn't know stuff like that
@@danielbarker2522me too,bkc is a goat of old gens but i am sure he just doesnt like playing new gens..specially 9
@@danielbarker2522 yeah likely
BKC’s writing is still stellar though
I guess You didnt watch the video properly,He just said That Cedge is a knock off version but Without the item part..
And knock off(with item boost) and Cedge(Sharp boost) has same base power
@@Musasensei1674What?? Knock Off and Ceaseless Edge have completely different utility
You forgot something important with H. Samurott: Sharpness, which boosts the power of cutting moves including its Ceaseless Edge, Sacred Sword, and Razor Shell by 1.5x.
Also Aqua Cutter if you don´t want to risk the miss + has high crit chance
As someone who began with Gen 1, the idea of a Poison/Fighting type being meta is almost mind-blowing. Yet here Sneaseler is.
@@jaretco6423They said a *meta* Poison/Fighting. Toxicroak has only ever been OU in Gen 5, and even then it only really functions on a rain team.
@jaretco6423 Yeah, but Toxicroak was never that viable except for gen 5. Crumples easily to any attack, relatively low speed, has to rely on rain if you want to make it survive, and until S/V its best fighting STAB was Drain Punch. And even that becomes consistent only with setup.
LMAO rip gen 1 machamp 💔
@@ZorotheGallade he does look very snazzy out in the rain, I will say that though
Psychic types really did get nerfed into the ground so bad they had to become Fairy types to stay viable, that’s crazy
Weavile: “Brother, help me”
Sneasler: *Proceeds to cause chaos and rip up the tier*
Sneasler: Long live the king!
Rip and tear?
@@KimFareseed*rip the tier*
mew Losing Knock Off, Toxic, Defog, Cosmic Power, Explosion, and Teleport is most disappointing since it takes away potentially valuable options for it to use. Knock Off and Defog in particular are especially disappointing for it to lose.
Its typing is extremely disadvantageous in a meta infested by threats like Kingambit, Samurott-H, Basculegion, and Hoopa-Unbound. This undermines its otherwise decent defenses and makes it deceptively easy to K0
Last respects is banned so Basc usually doesn’t carry a ghost move. Most of the time you’ll see 3 water + psychic fangd
@@tempestgreen1125till you come up against one that’s using phantom force and you’re just 6-0’d cause you weren’t ready (I’m very butthurt)
@@tempestgreen1125 unless it's a female one with shadow ball.
The removed moves from Mew? The Pokémon who’s gimmick was being able to learn every (non signature) move. Huh?
@@beanids Yeah that sounds pretty stupid to be honest
Zamazenta got a huge win, oddly enough by dropping a tier.
I honestly do not think that Zamazenta lost at all, and in fact won with Body Press. Its ability being nerfed affects its switch in opportunities, but it is still just as threatening in terms of power. I feel like it only managed to fall thanks to the higher power level, so people arent complaining abt it being quite as unkillable (despite also doing next to nothing), aka it was unpopular since it made gen 8 feel too stally for many. To me, its still an overall win, since its losses are quite meaningless to it, and its wins made it legitimately threatening in OU (last gen when it was tested it couldnt even kill Lando with +1 Ice Fang iirc like cmon). It even saw success in NatDex OU, being banned due to Body Press.
@aethermax4695 absolutely, it saw no use before and sees incredible use now. If that isn't a dub idk what is
@@ExpandDong420Yeah, Zama Crowned is currently with Koraidon, Miraidon, Zacian and 3 Arceus forms one of the best in Ubers. The fact it was legal in OU despite the council knowing +4 Body Press 2 shots Galarian Slowking is insane to me. Body Press has no resists and every ghost gets shattered by Tera Dark Crunch.
@@mipho5899 I was moreso talking about Zama-Hero in OU because I don't know Ubers. It's nice to hear he's eating there too
@@aethermax4695 Yeah Zama C is mostly better, a lot of this video is odd and not quite right. H is arguably worse but it's probably more the power level of OU that lets it stay there rather than the strength of the mon itself.
Even though Heatran lost toxic, I still think the addition of it is more glue that holds the game together as it puts a lot of offensive mons like gambit, iron moth, and hatterene in check.
Putting Heatran on your team is like gluing your hand to a leak in a public sink; sure it will be an inconvenience for you and for others, but its the best option we have, and darn it were gonna make sure that sink's leak stays sealed.
Me who played only Ranked in Gen 8: first time?
@@bluebaron6811that is quite literally the best description of what it feels like to use a very slightly too bulky to not be blasted to oblivion but not bulky enough to like not ever be just blasted through
Plus it's still got DoT in the form of Magma Storm, so it's not losing out on that entirely.

Why the hell is scald exclusive to Volcanion when it literally has Steam Eruption? Like… wtf-
Technically they first lost it in Sword/Shield.
Removes defog from over half the pokemon, gives spikes to over half the ground types
I don’t think Zamazenta is a loser, it’s viable in a tier now. It escaped the uncanny valley!!
Shut up predictable
Yeah tbh zama is just a winner now,bcz its trash in uber
@@Musasensei1674Zamazenta Crowned is literally Top 7 in Ubers rn because of Body Press and nothing is capable of killing it except for Miraidon.

The saddest loss for me wasn't a big one, but Lando losing Explosion was just sad for me to see. I loved forcing the opponent to switch out, only for their Pelliper to be blown to smithereens.
explosion's damage sucked though.
Ikr: my mono-flying is gonna miss aerialate lando
@@gregorymirabella1423Hyper Offense teams didnt care about Explosion's damage, its the fact that Lando-T dies, blocks Hazard Removal and gives a free switch-in for an offense mon to come in.
Tbh, the reason I dislike that particular loss is because Lando clicking explosion means it won’t be there being annoying during the rest of the match. Hopefully the DLC bring the Explosion TM back.
@@butteredsalmonella Not only that, but it was usually pretty easy to set up a swords dance, plus you had the option of quaking or u-turning.
It just shows how powerful coverage can be when a pokemon considered to be a pretty bad ou noobtrap the gen before, turns into the monster that was gen 9 regieleki just from having access to terastallizing
Which gen Regi Eleki ?
@@alexursu4403 gen 8
That's been the tension behind electric types ever since the transition to Gen 2. At first Zapdos was fatally limited because you could just throw Rhydon at it and it does literally nothing. But then they added Hidden Power and suddenly it and Raikou dominated the metagame and Snorlax was as mandatory as it was in no small part as a way to check the electrics.
It wasn't a noobtrap at all really. It was just very team specific and hard to use effectively. The grounds in the tier (lando the massive majority of the time) generally had no recovery past leftovers and if they died eleki was a broken cleaner.
Also worth mentioning that H-Samurott gets Sharpness as an ability, boosting Ceaseless Edge, Aqua Cutter, Razor Shell, X-Scissor, and Sacred Sword. It's so good
razor shell is generally the better water move since that move has a 50% chance to drop defense, meaning if your lucky, razor shell can technically snowball on an opponents pokemons
@bulborb8756 yeah that makes sense. I've been running Aqua Cutter for the better accuracy/crit chance, but Razor Shell can build some fun momentum like you said
@@bulborb8756 Aqua Cutter is better with a damage increase item for all your physical moves. The defense drops chance would be more useful without such items
Don't forget that it has STAB Knock Off but is eating so well that it barely runs it. Just to rub it in the faces of the Pokémon that lost it.
And believe or nor furry cutter
As a long time Oshawott fan, I’m so incredibly happy that Samurott is now viable in OU.
Me too
He didnt even go over its ability sharpness, which boosts the power of cutting moves by 1.5
So cessless edge, razor shell and sacred sword are even stronger
I’m still salty that they made oshawott’s final evolution quadrupedal… if you’re going to wield two blades, evolving into a more quadruped is a step backwards, not forward. It didn’t help that H. samurott is the exact same way, but with some black coloring.
@@J0eMega meh, i'd rather have more quadrupedal starters than just buff af or slim af bipedal ones, we already have enough of that.
@@aaajeear8654 I understand what you mean. Incineroar definitely did not need to be bipedal, as a fire/dark giant lynx was already a cool concept. Instead they had to make it furry-bait. It was also kind of weird how the majority of new starters are bipedal and humanoid. However, Samurott being bipedal is one of the few cases that would have actually made sense. I would have also been fine with a semi-bipedal build, kind of like swampert.
@@J0eMega tbf the anime did show that it can stand on its hind legs when duel wielding (Cameron's fight against marlon) so it is a swampert situation
Just much less obvious
I'd argue that Zamazenta is the second biggest winner in all of Scarlet and Violet. The nerfs to his ability and stats were more of a light slap on the wrist. He gained stone edge, he became able to terastallize, he dropped down from Ubers, so he effectively came down to OU where he's better there than he ever was in ubers. Finally, he got new moves, but most importantly...He got *B O D Y P R E S S*
Imagine how much of a loser Zama would be if it DIDN'T get Body Press.
@@nousername191please no, I don't want to imagine, they finally threw Zama a bone just let him have this 😭
he got stone edge?
@@slimestudios9748yes
Dropping a tier is objectively a loss. It means it's widely known to be worse than it was.
Ursaluna's absurdity in OU puts a smile on my face
yeah that bear is just mauling OU with sheer brute force
Doing what bears do best.
Sadly, Cocaine Bear has been banned in Doubles OU
Never mess with mama bear
Five Turns in Trick Room
That's really sad that Zamazenta had to GAIN Body Press, rather than already having it in its home generation, or Shield Bash using defense to calculate damage... you know, either option that makes MUCH more sense?
It also got hit with that stat nerf. -10 base attack in both forms, -5 to Def and Spdef in crowned form.
Just cause.
@@ZorotheGalladeapparently GameFreak believed the siblings needed equal treatment 😂😭
@@krooby7442 "I don't care who started it, you're both grounded!"
Give him kings shield
Pokémon Company: "You're a Pokémon associated with a King who wields a mighty shield in battle."
Zamazenta: "So I can learn King's Shield, right?"
TPC: "..."
Zamazenta: "I can learn it, right...?"
Ursaluna deserves special mention by making Trick Room, a Doubles staple of speed control, popular in Singles formats.
yeah cause setting up trick room is worth the trouble to make ursaluna work because that bear will maul anyone who looks at it funny with a guts boosted STAB facade
@@bulborb8756 And anything that's resistant or immune gets a Headlong Rush to the face.
I wouldn't consider Zamazenta a loser. Sure, he's fallen into ou, but hes finally usable, instead of beint a useless Uber.
Only Hero fell into OU and stayed there. Crowned was sent back to Ubers...
And it's still doing well there actually. Turns out, receiving Body Press and Stone Edge worked _wonders_ for Zamazenta's viability.
A muk deserves an honorable mentiom since this is a meta game that muk seems to thrive in, despite having umimpressive stats. It can still take hits while crippling others that dare to challenge it. It cant really hit steels that hard, but it does check some very difficult counters, like ghost types.
Alolan muk seems like it has potential.
A. muk was always good, even in gen 7 it was uu but often seen in ou
Something fuk'd up about Alolan Muk is Poison Touch combined with Poison Fang.
That's a 30% chance something bad will happen, and a 50% chance of something REALLY bad happening.
It's like a defensive Sneasler, and unlike Sneasler, it gets both Knock Off and Disable, two VERY obnoxious moves.
Lost loads of moves though. Pursuit, Curse, Shadow Sneak.
@@baseballs1742 losing Shadow Sneak was straight up uncalled for.
But I guess all the alolan variants are better than their originals anyway.
(Ignore Raticate and Dugtrio crying in the corner.)
Volcarona after 13 years of OU service finally ascended to Ubers for being too strong with tera
I still feel like that was undeserved.
Especially since it wasn't even a real vote
Congratulations for the first uber regi. We’ve come a long way
From walling nukes to nuking walls, Gigas' creations have most definitely proved to be of some value
@@bluebaron6811
Regigigas himself may be completely unviable, but I like to imagine him proudly shedding a tear of joy over seeing one of his creations finding success at the top 🫡
Rillaboom got gutted just as much as Weavile did
It lost Superpower (great coverage move), High Horsepower (which isn’t weakened by it’s HA unlike EQ whiling pretty strong in its own right), and most importantly Grassy Glide (which defined the entire mon)
It still has Knock Off, U-Turn and Stomping Tantrum and Drain Punch but it really is a shell of its former self
not to mention Grassy Glide was nerfed in gen 9 at it's power was dropped from 70 to 60
That made me tear since I had to rechange my Rillabooms move sets.
RILLABOOM lost GRASSY GLIDE??? I hate it here
And yet somehow Rillaboom is still used in VGC. Can't stop the Monke
Zamazenta should’ve received Body Press in its learn set from the start. It would’ve been perfect since it was the move’s introduction as well. Or they could’ve made Behemoth Bash like a higher base power version of Body Press. They really gave all of the attention to Zacian lol
Regieleki. The only Pokemon who actually wants to be an Ice type
You know Regieleki gets buffed when it becomes powerful enough to make Regice the second best Ice-Type Regi.
If mew isn't on this list I'll be surprised
Edit: Okay how is Mew not on this list. It lost SO MANY OF ITS KEY MOVES
I'd be hard pressed to say it was defining any tiers last gen, though I didn't see it through to the end at all.
Props for picking Legends Arceus' fantastic trainer battle theme for Samurott-H. Certainly a good way to hype up a Hisuian pokemon.
the cold-hearted samurai sea lion will show no mercy to anyone
It's interesting that in VGC, heatran, and eleki would be swapped in terms of winning and losing.
Heatran getting grass tera makes it hard to out and lets it keep spamming Heat Wave, while the introduction of Covert Cloak makes Tornadus use Tailwind almost 100% of the time, letting its partner outspeed and OHKO Eleki
Zamazenta about to be crazy in doubles. Wide guard, iron +press and behemoth bash. So much spread moves being unchecked
Other people have mentioned how you missed sharpness on hisuian samurott but I’m also surprised you forgot about unburden on sneasler which is an amazing ability for letting it cleave through entire teams
while that is a good ability, poison touch just does a lot for sneasler, especially with Dire Claw as that ability effectively gives that move an 80% chance to poison which is massive
@@bulborb8756Poison (not Toxic Poison) is the least useful of the statuses it can inflict. Honestly I'd rather just have better odds of rolling sleep or para from dire claw.
Also nothing on God's earth is outspending this thing with unburden, even a lot of scarfers.
if kyurem black is released unto gen 9, it will finally have usable physical stab because of the loaded dice. Base 100 power ice and dragon stab is disgusting, even more so when you realize that scale shot also raises speed. Tera electric also gives you a free turn to use the game-ending dragon dance on whatever steel type tried to check you AND you get stab on fusion bolt. The Uber tier better be quaking in its boots.
That sounds amazing
I’m hoping for Kyurem to come to Paldea, so much so that I took the time to Shiny Hunt it.
I love Kyurem Black, and that Ice STAB is incredibly threatening, let alone it’s Electric option.
It’s going to be incredibly powerful if it does come.
I mean, even in Gen 8, before the Loaded Dice, Kyurem getting Icicle Spear was a major contributing factor in Kyurem Black (and standard Kyurem IIRC) getting banned, alongside Dragon Dance.
That’s IF KyuB keeps those moves
@@Rarest26 it's almost definitely keeping DD. Icicle Spear is less certain, but even if it loses that, it will probably get Ice Spinner.
Imagine if heatran got earth eater. I mean, it would be broken beyond all reason but it kinda makes sense that the lava metal monster of the volcano eats earth, right? It makes just as much if not more sense than flash fire.
8 bulky ground types.
"We eating good tonight." - Heatran, probably
True but as you said it'd be beyond broken. The one thing that could stop heatran is ground moves tbh and so getting rid of that would make heatran possibly one of if not the best mons.
@@regitriotrio5656Indeed. There’s a part of me that feels like if gengar can loose levitate than hetran can gain earth eater, but that is probably not a fair comparison to the difference in power that would be.
You're right. That is both frightening and logical in lore. A Heatran that can gain HP on switchin to its 4x weakness, leaving it with only water and fighting weaknesses. Not to mention that without Open Sheets, you won't know if you can take advantave of that 4x weakness or use a neutral fire move until it's too late.
Ew.
Tbh Zamazenta gaining body press makes me think it's actually been a positive moment if barely. The fact it dropped is testament to how fucking insane the nerfs it got hoisted on it by Zacian were and the fact it has or is at risk of getting banned is testament to how it finally has the move it needed last generation to provide both a strong stab that is boosted by its ability but also a better boosting move in iron defense instead of howl last generation. It has lost a lot of options in terms sets since it's overall weaker but body press and iron defense alone almost make up for it.
Still the dumbest nerf ever though barely behind Darkrai getting its signature move just deleted from all viability because of a mon who had already lost the move
Zamazenta-Hero dropped into OU (and barely avoided banning via Suspect Test). Crowned dropped into OU, was quickbanned, and then started doing well in Ubers, actually. Turns out Body Press wasn't the only buff Zamazenta got, but it also got some other nice coverage options, chief among them being Stone Edge, which actually obliterates most of the viable ghost-types.
After all this time my boy Qwilfish has gotten some much needed love, and I hope and pray that its Hisui form with Eviolite and Overqwil will find some good use in a tier somewhere
Well, he got banned from ZU, so Hisuian Qwilfish seems to have been eating well.
I'd throw in Galarian Articuno into the mix. For a PU lifer in Gen 8, it's sure gotten the tools it's needed to survive in Gen 9 OU for now. I can't imagine it'll stay there forever, but it's great to see Articuno finally doing well in a generation.
What tools?
Casual players: Bolt Beam coverage doesn't seem too crazy
Regieleki: "Hold my battery acid"
absolutely shocked Ursaluna wasn't on the list. It's so crazy strong and gives so much viability to trick room right now.
It's more of a new pokemon than a previous pokemon made better

You should do another video on the biggest winners & losers of SV mons due to Home. Taking into account once tiers change next month. Established OU mons like Breloom, Hattarene, and Garchomp are on shaky ground and could possibly drop to UU or toil in BL. On the other hand, Pelipper, Iron Treads, and Meowscarada are in a stronger position than ever.
Smeargle is going to love ScVi if ever unleashed. Between Salt Cure, Ceaseless Edge, and Stone Axe, Smeargle can provide hazard control while not fearing Taunt.
Great analysis video! Surprising about the lack of honorable mentions! Thanks for uploading!
Ive been absolutely loving these new style of videos. They are top teir
How GREAT was FalseSwipeGaming actually!
Honestly, I think Zamazenta in ou is a win. It went from really having no place in Ubers to a spot in our, which is better
In terms of abilities not mentioned.
H. Samurott has Sharpness, which gives a 1.5x boost to cutting attacks, making Ceaseless Edge, Razor Shell or Sacred Sword pretty darn spammable.
Sneasler apart from Poison Touch, it has Unburden. If it's already amazing speed wasn't enough, it can run Unburden along with a White Herb Close Combat or Normal Gem Fake Out in order to outspeed almost whatever it feels like outspeeding.
And Tera Flying Acrobatics
@@goGothitaLOL We didn't count Teras, but yeah, Acrobatics is a huge threat, specially on Sneasler.
@@genarftheunfuni5227Unburden feels like overkill for something that fast.
@@skeetermania3202Yeah, it's exactly what makes Unburden Sneasler a Threat. They can activate the ability very easily and outspeed everything without boosts and also a good portion of Scarf users.
And it's also got some pretty darn good coverage.
Ghosts blocking Close Combats? Shadow Claw or Night Slash. Even X Scissor if you have none of the above and a Psychic Type is threatening you. Steels neutral to both of your Stabs? Fire Punch. It even learns Rock Slide for doubles, and as stated in the video can use Swords Dance to begin a Sweep.
@@genarftheunfuni5227 Still seems overkill for something already that fast.

Hyped to watch this! Can't wait to see who's good and who's not!
Maybe not the biggest losses, but I feel that mew and zapdos lost a lot with home as well
Mew maybe but Zapdos is one the very best OU mons at this very moment. Dominating the tourney scene.
@@HowlingOneifyThen again, it lost stuff like Weather Ball.
Probably one way where you could have buffed Dauntless Sheild is by also having it negate crits. At least then, it would have an ability working similar to Zacian
Love how the channel has evolved
I think going over all of the Hisuian Forms as well as Roaring Wake and Iron Leaves with Blunder would be a fun video to watch. The previous three videos of looking over the Paldean Formes and Paradox Formes videos are some of my favorite videos on this channel so far :)
Volcarona is a huge winner from tera and meta shifts, and has ascended beyond OU
I thought calyrex shadow was gonna be one of the winners. It had a similar problem to Regieleiki as it couldnt hit dark types effectively. Terastilization added the chance of tera fairy or fighting to deal with them.
Calyrex shadow has always been in ubers tho
@@goros2289 valid but it still got better
Yveltal was also removed

loving this kind of content!
I think Rillaboom should've been number one. Pretty much went from an ou staple to a niche pick with the loss of grassy glide. Lando, zama, and heatran are still very good regardless of their nerfs.
It also lost High Horsepower and superpower, two of its best coverage moves which also sucks.
Zamazenta is arguably better than ever. Power Creep may have knocked the Hero form out of Ubers, but with its new coverage option in Stone Edge, and of course, *BODY PRESS* Zamazenta terrorized OU enough to get suspect tested (where it barely avoided the banhammer).
Zamazenta-Crowned is actually legitimately good in Ubers, to boot.
Ursaluna hits so hard it made trick room in singles viable and with good bulk along with it, it can survive a tera normal boosted extreme speed from arceus
I'm surprised to not see Calyrex Shadow on this list. I heard it became so powerful that it went up to AG.
That's because Cal Shadow didn't necessarily get better, but rather stayed the same while it's competition and checks either got nerfed, or just wasn't put in the game. It was already extremely overwhelming, now it's overwhelming without counters.

I feel like Rillaboom def deserves a mention here. Losing access to Grassy Glide was really tough for its ability to pressure teams
Teragrass Heatran is a phenomenon. A great replacement since they banned Volcarona.
"Pokemon Home has not gone the way of Zygarde" might be my favorite Pokemon phrase ever.
This may be my love for Decidueye talking, but both forms still have access to knock off, defog, taunt and u-turn, even though they lost toxic. And on the offensive side, you've got the Hisuian form with Scrappy and Triple Arrow and Brave Bird, so it can hit everything except like electric-flying/fairy, which you don't want to stay in against anyway. The obvious problem is that it is slow as hell with 60 speed, but in theory, it can handle a non-boosted "Make it Rain" from Gholdengo and hit back hard enough to OHKO... if it survives the second "Make it rain", since we gotta assume that it used either Nasty Plot or Make it rain on the switch-in, or best-case used Recover or you switch in to revenge-kill. It may be better suited for doubles with light screen and tailwind, or by going slow enough to be good in Trick Room, but I'm sure there's plenty of pokemon that outshine it there too. Alolan Decidueye is currently UU, but it's probably gonna be sent to RU now, just because a decent pokemon with Defog gets sent down to UU when the metagame settles, although maybe not since there doesn't seem to be a pokemon in OU with an equivalent defensive profile and access to defog, except Corviknight, who we know is gonna stay OU unless Skarmory 3.0 is released.
opponent: "get poisoned"
Sneasler: "no u(turn)"
“How good was Volcarona actually?” Remake when?
I want to see a video for another underrated Pokémon, like Corsola or Accelgor
when i saw Samurott was in OU i felt like a proud father as hes my favourite pokemon and it makes me so happy seeing him used in competitive.
I thought Ursaluna would get in the top 3 winners, but seeing the reasons why the top 3 winners got in here I can only agree. Great video!
As an avid vgc watcher, seeing landorus on the biggest loser list for singles is HILARIOUS!
You forget my favorite Goodra who finally got the Steel/Dragon type
Hisuian Samurott _also_ has its Sharpness ability to gain a 1.5x boost to ALL cutting moves it has, which along with its STAB with Ceaseless Edge and Razer Shell (among other cutting moves) Ceaseless Edge can most definitely pack a bigger punch
Ceaseless edge is also boosted by sharpness, making it the full bp of knock off while setting spikes.
Special shout out to regidrago, it is still mid but it gain 100% needed coverage with tera blast steal/poison and earthquake/ earth power and i am not sure but i think this gen ut gained dragon dance but j think it had it in gen 8
I mean sure, Zamazenta dropped from ubers, but that doesn't say much when it was already considered to be the worst uber in the first place and there were talks about dropping it to OU last gen as well. Honestly an odd choice for the number 1 pick, especially considering Zamazenta actually gained a lot of other buffs as well.
Sneasler also gets unburden if it wants to be over the top with its speed by holding an air balloon or focus sash. Just in case we see scarf regieleki hit the field.
Zacian: *Is Broken*
Gamefreak: "This is all your fault, Zamazenta."
Zamazenta: "MY FAULT?! How is this MY FAULT?!"
I feel like they really didn’t plan ahead for when they were developing Terastilization. Regieleki and other moms can just ignore their type and movepool issues that otherwise kept them in check
Man your talking about gamefreek. These guys made soul dew in gen 2 and it was busted until 5 gens later. They don’t think.
Megaevolution too. Mega Kangashkhan always hitting twice in a single turn was broken beyond belief.
@@plabcentral630 *Gen 3
Singles balancing isn't a second thought but more like a tenth thought for gamefreak.
@@breloommaster12 for some reason I though the twins were gen 2. Thank you
The fact that you didn't mention that Samurott-Hisui also got Sharpness, which greatly boosts its slicing moves, like Razor Shell and, of course, Ceaseless Edge.
Thank you False Swipe Gaming, very cool
These thumbnails for these videos have been so good
I forgot how nice Gen 7's graphics looked when enhanced. The outlines do wonders.
Finally Samurott is high tier
I would really like if you guys did a video like this for the doubles meta. Since the meta there can be so different.
Ursaluna is just insane, whether you're going tera normal with flame orb, assault vest, choice band or stall,it's going to put in some work.
Heatran is about to leave the number 3 loser spot
Crazy that they didn't even mention Hisuian Samurott's Hidden Ability, which boosts the power of Ceaseless Edge and several other of its move by 50%
Thanks for this great video
Sneasler is low-key one of if not the best thanks to grassy seed and unburden throwing his speed thru the roof and having fake out from rillaboom and itself to protect it's setup
Seems overkill, don’tcha think?
I wanna give regular Unovan Samurott an honorable winner mention because of its access to Terra Type Bug. My Samurott I named Jack knows Liquidation, X-Scissor, Aqua Jet, and Drill Run.
Edit: I wanna give another honorable winner mention to all the other Hisuian forms for simply finally being able to have their move sets expanded and accessible in the main series games.
all the hisui forms are great except avalugg
@@Musasensei1674 yep. Having a base speed of only 38 when you ironically only weigh half as much as your Kalosian counterpart AND having not one but 2 double weaknesses to arguably 2 of some of the best offensive types in the game is hysterically bad.
I wanna know how staraptor is doing these days. Has it finally gotten to shine in a tier without getting banned yet?
It actually dropped to RU, but got banned within' days.
RUBL currently
@@forzadorianprofdp3833 staraptor can't find a proper home to save it's life.
it's worth mentioning that I'm pretty sure regieleki's ban on Smogon is the fastest in smogon history, i think it was a single day
I figured Tornadus-T was going to appear somewhere in the Losers spot. It losing Knock Off and Defog was massive for it, removing pretty much all of its utility and forcing it into mediocre offensive sets that are only consistent on Rain teams.
Offensive tornT is absolutely not mediocre and in fact is well positioned to be a threatening sweeper/breaker with nasty plot. Especially as regenerator lets it try multiple times.
@@HowlingOneifyYour opinion, m8.
@@skeetermania3202 oh it's the onion guy. You're still out there contributing nothing to comp pokemon discussions by leaving these comments, purely to be contrary i see.
Why.
@@HowlingOneify How do you know?
I would much rather watch Pokémon Draft League than Football on Sundays. I feel that Pokémon Draft Leagues have also shaken up the meta alongside Pokémon Home; they've demonstrated how unorthodox teams can actually work.
Yeah lets watch a bunch of nerds push a button instead of actual athletes doing things legitimately nobody else on the planet can do... makes sense... the only people who say things like this are people who never had an athletic bone in their body and simply don't understand.
@@AceManning18 Bro, go touch grass. You're trolling in the CZcams comments, so don't @ me with the athletics shi when u haven't even gone outside today 🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡
@@AceManning18 I prefer tennis but Jesus everyone can have an opinion and I love draft league
@@AceManning18 Other people that don't enjoy football are ANY disabled person who can't compete with others on a physical level.
This is why I don't like American Football. Every single enthusiast is so toxic and they think others are wusses just for not wanting to enjoy it
Anyone can learn how to become good at chess, VGC, etc., even if they aren't physically able.
*I* enjoy watching mindgames, not shattered ribs.
Thanks anyways though.
Shocked you didn't cover Sharpness on Hisuian Samurott which makes Ceaseless Edge as strong as Knock Off if the opponent has an item and Razor Shell essentially becoming a better Liquidation on it.
Would really love more Videos about the current meta!
heatran also losing eruption was a huge nerf when using offensive heatran, which really blew the hole in it for being a sun staple
I still don’t know why that move was exclusive to Guardian Signs.
Makes me think what the new & old beasts are yet to be unleashed from The Teal Mask & Indigo Disk are going to shake things up in the long run.
Tera is definitely most of the problem for these winners, but I don’t hate that in principal. I’d like to see a stable meta with Tera for Gen 9, only exists this gen after all and it adds another dimension to play that I quite like. I hope that it is only restricted and not banned, if it is to be voted on
Honestly the amount of Pokémon bans we’ve gotten this Gen because of Tera really makes me wonder if it’s worth it to keep Tera around. Look at Volcarona or Regieleki, if they couldn’t Tera, they would definitely not be banned to Ubers, and be a lot more manageable. Same with a bunch of other mon’s too
Not mentioning H-Samurott's hidden ability Sharpness is astounding since part of the reason it's as strong is also its ability, as it boosts all slashing moves that the mon uses.
Same goes for Unburden on Sneasler. We all know what happened with Hawlucha once it got the desirable STAB in Close Combat on Generation 8. Sneasler is just as, if not, as powerful as Hawlucha because of that.
How about Ursaluna, I heard great things about it. Well pretty much the whole Legends crew have been incredible bar whirdeer and the axeyboi scyther evo.
