That last story with the attempted home invasion used to be my worst fear when I was younger. Being home alone still freaks me out, since you notice every little sound around you.
When I am home alone, I lock both front and back sence door. I still get scare
I am super OCD when i am home alone. I always check every doors and windows to see if they are locked. I even lock the screen door at the entrances in addition to locking the normal door and when I am sleep at night, I lock my bedroom door for extra peace of mind.
Yeah same, I am still terrified to be home alone I hear everything and it makes me super paranoid so I have to make sure everything is locked!
The last story is freaking me out. It’s a good reason why I don’t trust people these days

That 9-year-old boy was so smart! Most kids would have fallen for it (for understandable reasons because they're so young). But he was smart enough to realize that wasn't his mom because she would never talk like that, refused to pick up the phone/go outside, and quickly called 911 the second he knew they were trying to break in.
Mm I think you're really underestimating children. They're a lot smarter than you think.

The last story of the child talking to the man and the woman genuinely shook me. How he thought that he was talking to his mother but instead it was actually people who had ill intentions
He knew that it wasn't given that the woman didn't sound like his mom and his father died when he was 3. Smart kid.

That last story I honestly thought was gonna be one of those stories where someone was dealing with a doppelganger who's trying to pretend to be OP's mom and deceased dad, but instead is a potential stalker/near home invasion kind of story which honestly makes it way more terrifying especially for how young OP was

In the first story, I feel like Cody telling him to stay, knowing there was somebody THAT deep in the woods with them, was perplexing. Like i understand the lack of defense yk, but i wouldn’t even feel comfortable being out there fr
For a so called eagle scout (who are tought to be logical and calm is survival scenarios). That was a dumb call tbh. You know animals don't hum. What else do you need to be able to realize that you are in a bad situation and sleeping is going to be impossible... Furthermore. If they kept hearing it why didnt they go to sleep in the same tent. Cody then says let's go to sleep and take turns being night watch... Cody fails at this also by falling asleep... 🤦🏻♂️. Failure after failure from an "eagle scout". 😂
I think the issue was that it was the middle of the night. Packing up a campsite and then walking back to civilization in the pitch dark would be a tall order for a lot of people.

Depending on how far away from the car. It safer to stay in one area instead of trying to run to the car. Also be easier to defend.
I never go into the woods without a couple of guns and plenty of ammo. I rather be safe than sorry...

I’m scared of being alone and scared of the dark, i’m currently alone in my room and it’s really dark and i have anxiety and intense paranoia. I have a history of hallucinations and when i used to look upstairs i would see a weird horse creature moving around. I’m much better now and i only ever get paranoid.

The first story definitely got me good, imagine someone humming in the dark..? But someone having poked their head in your tent? 😭
That last story reminded me about how I was home alone. By the time I was like 9 or 10 is when my mom would sometimes let me stay home alone. I never thought of stuff like home invasions or anything like that. But when I was 14, by this point we moved from an apartment to a house in a not so great neighborhood. The only thing that was remotely close to an “invasion”, was someone jumping our backyard gate and..stealing our lawnmower 😂. But I think they didn’t even think of coming inside once the heard our dog barking, she’d always bark at any little sound she heard. And it’s funny because, she was a big baby.

Every reaction I give hearing every story you post Mr. Nightmare, genuinely makes my skin crawl, pulse pound, and heart in my throat.
Whenever I listen to horror stories or stuff like the mandela catalogue, etc. I get extremely scared and start glancing around and get curled up.

Although it is difficult to think that such horrors can be emitted in everyday life, this makes them even more frightening.
