Best snowboarding story was Mr. Ballen's very first video - I'll never forget his one and only personal experience with the 'paranormal'. The way he told that story hooked me for good.

I really loved how this one had a nice mix of potentially paranormal stories and potentially more realistic stories. It gives the story is a great sense of you don't know what kind of monster you might meet out in the snow, be they man or beast.

I have never skied before (cuz i live in houston and for a good reason) I have seen videos of people falling from slopes while skiing and they fall about like 120 ft. Stay safe ya'll
thats why they have paths your suppose to skii down, if your wondering off those tracks it then becomes your fault

Man I live in Dallas and I have snowboarded several times. The drive is like 13 and a half hours to Mt Crested butte, so probably 16 or 17 hours from Houston. I love the mountains, and hope to retire in a cabin somewhere in the mountain west. But my job keeps me here in DFW 😢. Go hit the mountains, exponentially more beautiful than anything Texas has to offer!

The creepiest thing that happened to me on a skiing trip was staying at this place called the Outlook Hotel. Kinda dead place but the slopes were excellent. Oh, and sometimes a river of blood comes spilling out of the elevator. Which is odd because the blood usually gets off at the second floor.
Creepy enough, I remember hearing a story of some guy murdering his twin daughters or something, pretty creepy, thought his name was Grady or something
I was enjoying a nice bath when some child came in and started gawking at me. I still have nightmares from his screaming.

Savannah did everything right up until she yelled the police were on their way. Had she just stayed silent or pretended that she had no service then the police could’ve caught him and find out who he was (my guess is either the creep from earlier in the day or the Airbnb owner - assuming they aren’t the same person by some major coincidence).
Can’t entirely fault her though, a situation like that is obviously very nerve-racking. Plus she didn’t know whether the other girls had their doors locked, so she had to take their safety into concern too.
No, even yelling that the police were on the way was the right call. The guy was trying to break down the door, and the cops were minutes away, about 5 to 10 minutes away, when seconds mattered. If she'd hadn't, something very bad could have happened to her.
When police get a call like this, it's standard for them to bring a body bag. That's for the people who don't yell "the police are on their way" and said police typically have to use it.
In such a situation, safety is the priority, not the guy getting caught.
@@enforcerridley158 I see that too, depending on if there was something to barricade the door with unless they’re a bunch of body builders or had the strength to restrain him that is a real possibility.
As nice as it would be if he was caught their lives are certainly the top priority in a situation like that.

I'm always skeptical of people saying that it's total darkness outside while in a snow environment...it's like they've never been at night during winter.
if it's cloudy at night, it can be total darkness.
@@je862 I doubt it, I never experienced that even when far away from cities. If there's fresh snow on the ground, the light bounce on it. Even ig there's little of it it's not gonna as dark as it would in the summer or fall.

My ski-trip horror story was being out in the mountains of Colorado on Christmas Eve. It was the end of the day as the sun was going down. Way up near the top of a slope, I lost control and ended up going over a small ridge and crashing down about 15 feet. I ended up with a compound fracture of one leg, my tibia and fibula.
That wasn’t the horror, though. Other people saw me do this so it wasn’t like I was left out there on my own. However, this was in the 1980s, well before cell phones. Someone had to ski all the way down to the bottom of the slope to get ski patrol. It took about 30 minutes for someone from ski patrol to get to me, and he had to radio down for more people to come up to the top of the slope with the appropriate gear to get me stabilized and down off the mountain.
Someone wrapped and splinted my leg, I was put on a sled of some sort, then I was pulled back up over the ridge so they could attach me to a snowmobile. I had been up there close to 90 minutes by the time they got me down to the ski patrol first-aid station. I was left there for another hour while we waited for an ambulance to get there. The ski patrol guys were all pretty drunk on egg nog - which they wouldn’t share with me.
Finally, an available ambulance could make it up to the ski resort where I was. They got me in the ambulance and we headed out. No pain meds. I was in shock, but they couldn’t give me any meds. Just saline through an IV.
It took us more than three hours to get to an ER with a trauma center in Denver. Apparently I was in bad-enough shape that they took me to where I could be seen by one of the top orthopedic surgeons in the state. I don’t remember much of it since I was in and out of consciousness. The paramedics kept trying to keep me conscious, but being conscious meant I was screaming in pain.
Finally, some six hours after the accident, I was given a shot of Demerol. Within minutes, I felt just fine! Pain was gone. Well, not exactly gone, but it was like it was just observing the pain, not experiencing it. I had surgery after midnight, making it early Christmas morning. I don’t remember much until the day after Christmas, when I was in traction in a hospital room. I got to spend several weeks there, having two more surgeries to deal with injuries to my ankle and Achilles tendon as well as the area of the compound fracture.
Then I got to fly back to Texas. On Continental Airlines. That was almost as horrifying as the accident itself. I was in a cast from my toes to my hip until July of that year, when I graduated to a cast on just my lower leg. Once I was finally set free from the casts, I had to do physical therapy for months just to be able to use that leg. I couldn’t put any weight on it, much less walk, until some time well into the fall. I used crutches for months, then a cane, and then I could finally walk unaided - more than a year after the initial accident. 40 years later, I still have a limp and considerable pain in that leg.
So I would happily trade my horror story for somebody knocking on my hotel room door…
