I've got one, it is a nice rifle. Chambered in 5.56 NATO it will shoot .223 Remington and 5.56 NATO. It is a bit heavier than a lot of AR's, so the felt recoil is less. The trigger is smooth, the action is slick. The five round magazines has a bottom plate that can slide forward and back, so you have to sometimes center that plate before inserting the magazine. The fit and finish is tops. The bolt has a rotating head to lock up tight. The 20 inch barrel has a 1 in 9 twist which will stabilize 55 through 75 grain bullets pretty well. The length of pull is 14 inches, but I have seen people as short as 5 foot 2 inches not have a problem shooting it. As this rifle is not a semi-automatic the chamber stays much cleaner than that of an AR. While cleaning can be accomplished without disassembly and the cleaning instructions are in the manual; there is a set of videos on the Henry website under "Own a Henry" then "Rifle Maintenance Videos" for doing a detailed disassembly, cleaning and reassembly. As with all hunting, consult your local and state regulations. As far as home defense, probably not, long barrel lever? I mean it could, but for the money you could get two shotguns. But as a nice gun to shoot a hundred, two hundred yards and hit a golf ball, yah, one of the best. If that bottom plate on the bag didn't slide, a solid 5 stars, with that issue, 4 1/2 stars.
The bronze pmc 55fmj 223 shot great in my henry long ronger . I run a leupold 1to 4 power ... Also, own the Henry breakdown single shot 556 ... it loves the 223 hornady 55fmj...
I don't think the win would affect those fast bullets too much at a hundred yards but I was thinking how heavy is that trigger? Some say up to 7 lb which can affect my shooting, . I have a choice between getting the Browning or the Henry. Henry has the best customer service made in USA. Why did you choose Henry? All of my guns love Norma ammunition

How easy is the 223 action to rack? Considering this gun for grandkids and just a fun all around shooter. Thanks for the video.
Thank you! It’s a rack and pinion so it’s really smooth and you don’t have to go all the way forward with the lever for the bolt to eject a round.
I think Henry should have given the longer ranger in 5.56 a 1:7 twist not 1:9 for heavier bullets
These little guns are hard to find available. Do you notice the receiver getting really hot when shooting quicker shooting sets?
No I don’t

Never tested it, but pretty light. I had the same decision but my plan is to get both.
And it’s chambered in 5.56 and that’s what I wanted. The browning doesn’t have that. But I will eventually buy the browning blr in 243.
Voices not loud enough, sounds like bad mike connection.
What scope is that?
Vortex diamondback 6-24x50
I don’t think it’s ‘ammo’. My Mossberg MVP in 556 is way better than that.
