Thank you for the wonderful reaction! I could not catch it live. So Hyang is my favorite singer. I haven't heard a singer with as many tools regarding her vocal abilities. I think you were probably right to share the songs you did due to some copyright problems but please take the time to find and listen on your own to her version of 'Bridge Over Troubled Water' on KBS TV K-POP, with millions of views. She was very healthy there and it is an absolutely stunning performance and the first one I ever heard by her. Also her version of 'I Will Always Love You' from the Begin Again Concert series, her during COVID sitting down in the wind on the docks. It is another incredible version. She is a fearless singer, a dogmatic perfectionist, an amazing diva (without ever acting like a diva). Her Korean songs are also another level. It would be worth you blurring some of them if they are copyright problems. 'Everyone' is a seven minute masterclass of singing. Somewhere there is a version with a split screen that has English subtitles. 'Arirang Alone' is a traditional Korean song that is so different from many of her other legendary performances. I know in the first two of the performances here she had just had a bout with pneumonia and yet decided to perform rather than disappoint her fans. So really, this is only an inkling of what she can do. She, and 'her team', as she puts it, do all of the arranging of her songs. Just in that alone she shows to be a musical savant. She practices a performance a hundred times before she goes on stage. This I saw in a very interesting interview. She says she does this to fight the nerves that come natural to her. This is amazing when you hear and see her fearlessness when approaching the high notes and creativity involved. She is a cancer survivor (at 20 or so) and the treatments left her susceptible to pneumonia which she has had many times. Now, she is 46 years old and unbelievably her voice seems to have remained tiptop, and her performances have actually gotten even better with her experience (if that is possible). She appears to be aging in reverse... Again, thank you. I hope you can find some of her best performances without having issues. All of her 'Mask Singer' performances are really amazing. In Korea, they allow gifted and professional singers on their contest shows which is different than here in the U.S.A. Best of luck with your channel!

A new recommendation:
I strongly feel you should also analyse her fellow compatriots, the amazing unique crossover group Forestella. This is no ordinary crossover group though. Their members are: 2 classically trained opera singers, one of the 2 Ko Woorim is a basso profundo and the other, Cho MinGyu a leggiero tenor, then Kang HyungHo, a self-trained tenor soprano with the voice of an angel (and also crazily, an ex research chemist and a rocksinger with his own band PITTA) and lastly Bae Doohoon, an active musical theatre actor with a very versatile baritenor voice. They are not confined to any particular genre or language. Their Je Suis Malade (an homage in beautiful French to one of Lara Fabian’s Montreal Concert versions of Serge Lama’s song) is just incredible😮and always brings me to tears. Serge Lama uploaded their video and asked the whole of France via social media to watch their live Phantom Singer All Star performance. Then there is Hijo De La Luna, Scarborough Fair, Sound of Silence, Bohemian Rhapsody, Nella Fantasia, L’Immensita, Till, Inner Universe, Footprints In The Sand, Maldita Sea Mi Suerte, Snow Globe(not Christmas song) , Lazenca,SaveUs and Time In A Bottle. I think you will find that they bring a fresh appreciation of oldies-but-goodies…you will find much to analyse about the techniques they use and the intelligent arrangements and interpretations. Due to each one’s unique vocal quality, music training and experience, each brings something unique to the group to make their Forestella sound.

Her voice is amazing
She had to cancel the performance due to pneumonia at the time, but she still went ahead with it..
Originally, she is a gospel singer, so she arranged the song with a lot of gospel feel. Even now, she is actively spreading the gospel through live performances rather than commercial songs. As a fan, it’s a pity that I can’t listen to many of her songs..
Her doctor told her that she should cancel her performance, but sang anyway ...

Her mission is foremost to glorify God since she's a devout Christian but also to bring comfort to those who are suffering and struggling in life. She has turned down offers from every major label. Wrong performance of ‘bridge over troubled water’ don’t worry about copyright, don’t worry about blurring, doesn’t need to be so blurred or just put a filter on it, otherwise you risk missing some of sohyangs greatest performances & you will out.

Sohyang was sick in the hospital with pneumonia, and her doctor told her to cancel her performance to rest. She got a few injections, and did the show, believing that it may be her very last performance before losing her voice. She rarely sang for the next 2 years due to recurring bouts of pneumonia.

She told her fellow buskers that she's recovering from an illness, and was only at 30%, so will avoid belting. They're surprised she sang so well, and even vocalized the saxophone part.
황성제 (Hwang, Seong-jae) [BJJ Music, Butterfly production team] is credited for many of the arrangements of Sohyang's big performances.
Of course, anyone who works with Sohyang will put in the "impossible" elements that only divas like Sohyang can achieve, and will take her recommendations into consideration.

Your choice of Sohyang was good, but your choice of Sohyang song was not good. Despite having a lot of clearer audio recordings and better MR versions uploaded to CZcams ~
Another ‘wrong’ performance!!! Still great but you aren’t showing sohyang at her best & performances of the same song can be different at any one time. Please don’t go looking for video’s on your own when picking a performance, please use the actual performance recommended rather than looking for any version of the song. Most sohyang admirers will probably supply you with the actual links so pls use them. I know copyright is a pain in the backside but if you follow the rules (I still don’t understand how some people can show the video without alterations & others have to use a filter etc!!!’) you should be okay. The performances you are ‘not’ using are some of the most iconic performances ever never mind for sohyang. You don’t just watch & listen to sohyang, it’s an experience that you feel so please show just what this beautiful soul is truly about.
