I am used to all the process but purple gold coming out of aluminum with gold alloy is something I have never seen during my gold jewelry career !

Purple gold (also called amethyst gold and violet gold) is an alloy of gold and aluminium rich in gold-aluminium intermetallic (AuAl2). Gold content in AuAl2 is around 79% and can therefore be referred to as 18 karat gold.
I was watching someone try to make purple gold in a good quality and was very difficult. He ended up getting it down pretty well and made a solid purple gold ring. Well done to you guys 👏

@@TankBmore a cuban chain goes through alot of stress, they pretty much violently bend the links, crush them and then file them to get that look, They could try plating 24k gold with purple gold but im not show how friendly purple gold is to being held in a solution aluminum is very reactive. I wish it could happen it would look amazing

It wasn't the cloth that was expensive it was the dye that's extremely hard to make and it's still the most expensive dye in the world today that's still legally sold

There's a website that specialized in purple gold for years, I don't think they make a Jesus head, but in any case, I think they should work on their marketing because they may not realize what they got in their hands.

Run a few more pieces and your polisher will work out the finishing a little bit better.
It is very brittle so it's a lot harder to get a very smooth finishing...it would look so cool as a ring but a ring gets banged so much, clients would just keep complaining because they'll break it.
Or maybe encased into another metal that protrude around the gold to protect it or something like that.
