The Chinese consulate in Lagos held a special forum to reflect on relations between Nigeria and China, including the upholding of the One-China principle. The gathering brought together diplomats, academics and international relations experts as well as Chinese nationals in Lagos to discuss how ties between both countries have been mutually beneficial.

Nigeria is a key nation in West Africa because of her 230 million young population, with huge oil, natural gas, Lithium minerals and many other metal resources. I sincerely appreciate China's investment in Nigeria. But China is a communist state, and I vehemently against it one China policy and reunification with Taiwan. The status quo must be maintained.
