    I picked up a set of the Extreme-C limbs in 38lbs at 68". Been very happy with them so far, smooth draw, no stacking at my 29" draw and as fast as any limbs I have shot. Great value for what they are. They were a little tight on my limb bolts, but a little string wax fixed that.
    Your comment about the $1000 limbs having better quality materials may be true, but sometimes Archery gear goes too far. Its like asking what is better at holding two boards together, a titanium nail or a steel nail? Both will effectively function the same, even though the titanium nail may be much better quality. The higher quality materials may help on an infinitesimally small level, but practice practice and more practice will make you shoot better than the nicest equipment in the world.

    Very nice review.
    One small note though: The draw weight does actually not change when you change brace height. Just the pre-load. You will get an identical draw weight if you have 150mm or 300mm in brace height. Some find that surprising, but nevertheless, it´s how it works.

    • @PhillSche
      @PhillSche Před 4 lety

      This is false. There is a minor increase in draw weight if you increase the braceheight because you neee to shorten the string to do so.

      @@PhillSche Try it for yourself and see what happens. Atleast I am not able to detect any difference with a normal digital bow scale.
      Even if I set brace height super high, like 15 inches, I still get an identical draw weight with my scale atleast. The normal brace height range does not affect even 1/10 of a pound.

    I just bought these and so far I like them a lot. I will say two potential downsides are the limb tips and butts are *super* chunky. The former makes stringing the bow a little trickier and the latter may limit the amount of adjustability you get out of your limb bolts.

    Just bought this pair of limbs few hours ago. Been using s-impress, the wooden maple core with fiber lamination, and it was great.
    S-extreme is surely different type of limbs since it's using foam as cores, laminated with carbon.
    My expectation is high. Hope it s good. 😂

    The poundage variation that you were discussing with regards to it being higher. If I get this correct, the Koreans will measure the weight of their limbs by a 26 inch draw length, rather than the 28 inches that we use here in the US. I’m somewhat confidence in this because the engineers from samick went on to make MK Archery. And MK has those specifics

    Your review is amazing! This is very helpful in the selection of mid-range limbs. Is comparing the Samick Extreme-C limbs Vs the Fivics Vellator limbs an apple to apple comparison? Seems like a similar structure. Can you give a brief review. Or has anyone ever compared the two.

  • @8ballali
    @8ballali Před 4 lety

    Just a thought, but you said the weight kept rising, after telling us that was what stacking is.
    Also, if the samick limbs were four pounds heavier, they'd be about the same speed as the wiawis wouldn't they?

    • @MrGrunter
      @MrGrunter Před 4 lety +2

      Stacking is where the increase in force is greater per distance drawn. So as the limbs are designed around the 28 inch draw length, they are quite linear around this region. EG. 27" to 28" may increase by 1#, 28" to 29" by 1# but 29" to 30" may increase by 2#, 30" to 31" may increase by 4# and so on. The stronger the limbs the greater the issue becomes. As for the speed, remember that the poundage is just a measure of how much force is required to load the limbs where speed is more a measure of how quickly the limbs can release that stored energy.

    • @8ballali
      @8ballali Před 4 lety

      @@MrGrunter.
      Thanks. I see what you mean, but my 28# limbs are going to be slower than 32# limbs of similar construction. An extra twelve feet per second, from limbs drawn with four more pounds of draw, doesn't seem enough difference, specially for five times the price.
