    Thank you for providing such an in-depth comparison! I've been on the hunt for a versatile camera that can handle both vlogging and action footage efficiently. GoPro has its strengths in the action camera domain, but the flip screen feature of the insta360 ace pro grabbed my attention - definitely a substantial upgrade for solo vloggers.

  • @Kami.917

    I like how it works great in the dark because most action cam sucks in dark 😂 (one of the reason ive ordered it today😊)

    Quite impressive comparison, did explain a lot. As a biker who would ride at the night, I will definitely choose Intsa360 ACE pro for its low-light performance. The flip screen is also something new. Not to mention the Insta360 app, which is a very useful tool according to my previous expierence. To sum up, Ace pro would be the ideal choice to me.

  • @jakevisuals1
    @jakevisuals1 Před 6 měsíci +21

    Nice video, does it make any impact on 4K image quality if the ace pro has the capability of 8K? I guess that's why they can do 4K zoom in but not sure how that affects the normal 4K footage...anyway the color dynamic on the ace pro is decent 👌 way better than the gopro

  • @BIIIKES
    @BIIIKES Před 6 měsíci +11

    It's 8k, but the output is 4k due to pixel binning. This is why the clarity zoom still produces a native 4k resolution (binning is removed). Pretty neat, but saying 8k is a bit misleading.

      It just got a firmware update to shoot 8k 24fps, so yes, it does shoot in 8k.

  • @skylargreyjuly
    @skylargreyjuly Před 6 měsíci +1

    Thanks for the comparison, it's helpful. I just ordered one yesterday and I hope it'll deliver what was promised. So far the flip screen seems pretty thoughtful, which interests me the most since I often shoot alone and this is definitely a convenient feature. Aside from that, I would like to see whether the low-light performance can live up to expectations. Most reviews said the low light performance of Ace Pro is at the top of the game, but I'm gonna have to see for myself!

    wow, right off the bat the Ace Pro looks so much better in HDR outdoors! First time seeing 8K in an action camera, it does look much crisper even after it's zoomed in. The action camera game has some serious competition right now.. Insta360 is finally making a camera that has top-notch image quality both day and night. Great review man!

    Right in the beginning, your face looks more pale on the Insta360, and the grass seems more compressed (less detailed). Could be CZcams's compression, only you know for certain. Still image comparison is key for this type of review. Also, I don't know how exactly you're zooming in, but you should use the Ace Pro's *built-in* zoom feature while recording, rather than doing a digital zoom later in the edit. It has to do with pixel binning and you'll get very different results.

  • @DannyFyffe
    @DannyFyffe Před 6 měsíci

    Luke: The zoom in effect you did with both cameras showed the footage to be equally unusable so that is a test to throw out. On your face, the Insta does absolutely do better in the shadows so for someone always shooting themselves, I can see that use case. Overall, most of the footage is good on the Insta, but it did appear the sharpening was not as much in your face on the GoPro. I think GoPro could do a software tweak to help the shadows on the face. The screen on the Insta is the intriguing part to me. Lots of use cases for that for sure, but it is also the weak point that could be easily destroyed in an accident. One other thing, that front lens is not replaceable on the Insta and the Insta costs 450 at base and well over 600 bucks with its biggest package. So for all that, I think the GoPro still wins overall.

    It would be nice if these companies would standardize their batteries. I have a whole pile of batteries for my GoPro Hero 9 Black, so if I buy a GoPro Hero 12 I'd be able to keep using them, but if I bought the Insta360 Ace Pro, I'd need to buy a whole new set of batteries.

    I dunno the go pro seems better to me in sharpness at 4k which is sweet spot you have turn action pro to high ti get same but you didnt mention if there was a high sharpness on go pro.
    Only thing i see action pro is better at is night sight and zoom in shots video recording looks like its lacks behind the go pro. That christmas tree it looks clearer on go pro.
    Action you can def see the ground more but its blurry as hell might as well not have it 🤣
    If you just wanna take pictures action pro if you wanba record looks like go pro maybe better.
    In the end doesnt really matter as long as you got good content. We are all spooiled by these 8k 4k stuff when back in days we using 2mp cameras 🤣

    8K? this is beyond stupid. If you watch the data rate on this video on YT or a 4K TV it's not even close to what requires for such resolution. 8K is another gimmick to lure people to buy another useless gadget. The fact is you can't see the difference between 1080 or 4K if you watch it from 4 meters away like most people do when watching a tv screen.
