On board my very first Southwest Airlines flight from Los Angeles up to San Francisco just for a day out exploring San Fran while I was visiting LA. A very good flight, very good crew and lots of communication from the flight deck made for lots of happy passengers. After departure we were served a complimentary drink and a packet of nibbles. Something we don't get on European budget airlines, so I was impressed. The flight was full with every seat taken. Very quick engine start and taxi, no sooner had the push back vehicle moved away we were off taxiing to RWY24L. Great views down the coast towards Venice & Santa Monica beach and then up towards Santa Barbara. The entire flight was blessed with fairly clear skies and stunning views of the Californian coastline and countryside.

The zoom function on your cam corder is really good. From 14:40 - 14:45 you zoomed in to the beach and I could see people. That's amazing
My first flight was on a DC6-B from Athens to Cairo when I was 11 years old. I could not wait to fly on a JET AIRPLANE! That came much later when I flew from Athens to Rome on a DC9 and of course after that many many flights on all kinds of aircraft. Now I wish I could go back and fly on a DC6 from LA to SF. (nostalgia) Because I love California, I love this coastline, I love LA and I love airplanes. Thank you for the nice video!

Southwest Airlines is the best airline I've been to (the only in America). The other airline I went to is China Southern but I was a baby so I don't remember that flight. My parents said I was awake for the ENTIRE 12-HOUR flight from China (I don't know the airport) to LAX

趙順宏 That's the USA way of flight operations, we don't sit around with are fingers up our ass%$ like they do in the UK/Europe.
Only way to make money,is for a plane to up in the air ASAP. But yeah, Southwest has Great customer service (even if their airfares are not like dirt-cheap like a few years back).
Every time I've flown Southwest, they give (1st free booze) when the flight is severely delayed.
I never went on a plane before but I am tomorrow and I don't seem that nervous after watching this thanks

There you go...fly from southern Calif. to northern Calif...sit on right side. From northern Calif. to southern Calif... sit on left side...so you can see the coastline all the way. Very scenic.

Nice! I've flown on Southwest before! They rule! Also I actually like the -700 better than the -800 unlike most people! My favorite livery is Canyon Blue! So I've been on a Southwest Canyon Blue -700 but it was a -7H4 not a -7BD. Tail number of mine was N479WN

I always fly southwest to Irvine, Los Angeles. It’s really nice there. Did you know the average plane speed is 500 knots? Planes are my favorite. Plus I like looking up at california from above.

when my gma flew on american airlines from kphx to kmco, the cruising altitude was only 31000 ft
I was on a plane where the cruising altitude was 36,000 feet!
some airlines fly higher than others, also dependent on the plane. she was on an airbus a321
As you burn fuel through the flight they sometimes go higher towards the second half of the flight to increase fuel economy
The highest I have gone was 41,000 Ft on Southwest (which i think is the highest you can go)
i've seen planes at about 41, only reason i can tell is because of the contrails
Never remembered the engines of the 737 being so silent

I think, WN not allowed seat reservations in advance by flight booking on their website.
24h before (?) you check in online with "boarding groups" A-D, so free seat selection by boarding, is it correct?
If I remember correctly, Southwest doesn't do reservations on their flights, and in fact seats are available on a first come-first serve basis.
Yes you are right. Based on how quick you check in at the moment of 24hrs before your flight, you are given a group a-d, and that determines when you board. But you are not assigned a seat, and you are allowed to sit anywhere in the aircraft

SIMPLY EXCELLENT!!! SUPER video-tape!!! Very often before as a passenger I was flown with an "airberlin.com" Boeing 737-700 to many German and European citys. I,d like this tiny Boeing-Baby of the NG (Next Generation). It,s a perfect plane for short- and medium range routes. Like in your case SFO to LAX or for example DUS to TXL or MUC.

Capt, flying far out over water in case of an engine failure how to make it back to land. Bad decision. Tell ATC closer to land in case of engine failure. Way too far out.
