One last hurtle to pass and this one might be the most dangerous. Yui has a way to track Yuuya's movments and she has to live up to her roll as leader of her family and the team no matter her personal feelings. Yuuya has a lot to fight for and it might be too late for a creative solution at this point. And Cryska is running out of time.

I'm looking forward to it, it's been a long time since we saw anything during cherry blossom.

Back when I played I thought the story was over at this point, imagin my shock to find the best chapter of the game that came after, hope you'll like it too (can't wait for your reaction to the titular total eclipse)

For the next part, I think it would work best as an extra long episode, its all gas no breaks to the end.
I'll keep that in mind. It's always a toss up for if it'll be worth it, but if it's anything like the last time I might not be able to stop!
The Snegurochka in Total Eclipse seems based a little loosely on the Operatic version of her tale, simplified and removed from some of the period/political elements to focus on the parts relevant to this story.
Outside of what was mentioned in game, to give abit more context the Snow Maiden was yearning to feel the passions and longings of others since she herself could not feel them. She got unknowingly involved in a Love triangle (or square rather), and when she saw the man she was fascinated with achieve true love with another girl, she was desperate to understand the emotion of love and begged for the knowledge. In this interpretation of the story, she learns of love and confesses her love to the other man in the story, knowing what would happen to her if she did but still grateful for him loving her.
It's a story where the whole mess came about where all actors (the parents, the grandparents, Snegurochka) did what they did out of love and its was tragic. But in a cruel world like the winterbound land in the story or a Beta infested world, acts of pure love like it was like a small metaphorical ray of sunshine and hope to others who witness it. Like Heinemann honoring Mira's memory, or Sandek finding some solace in it all.
I really like that, the themes really line up. It makes me wonder if it was a foundational inspiration for Total Eclips, or if it came up during the writing process by happenstance? I'd love to pick the brain of the writers someday...
As far as Yui's father is concerned, it was mentioned quite awhile back, but Mira immediately cut all communication with him and vanished as soon as she knew of the pregnancy. Iwaya (the other guy in the photo) and Masatada spent all the time they had left in America to no avail. And the deteriorating war situation in Japan made it impossible to leave afterwards. Hope the siblings can reunite someday. The family has went through alot.
Ah right, they did say she cut him out most likly because she knew how a pregnancy with an American would create issues. Still such a sad outcome. Muv-Luv always amazes me how well it balances hope and tragedy.

By the way, the reason the tomcat was replaced by the hornet irl is the same reason it was replaced in muv-luv. Too Much Money and high maintenance

It all played out exactly as Sandek predicted....right now it really doesn't look like it was i good idea to go this route...but we got to hand it to Yuuya: Our boy is not afraid to walk a difficult path.
At least Cryska got to have a gentle death surrounded with love. Something almost no one on this wretched timeline can afford...

Anyway: I said several times that TE gets really good once the Shiranui second is completed. And now, after the heavy emotional arc, we are going into overdrive and make that connection to the trilogy! The endgame DELIVERS the goods!

But yeah... put poor Yuuya had to walk the path through hell, and all for just two days... beautiful and meaningful days I am sure he wouldn't change for anything in the world. But what a high cost...
The tomcat was used by the US navy like in the real world but it has high maintenance cost due to its variable swift wings design including its infamous aim 54 phoenix missile which in the real-world in my opinion is the worst air to air missile second only to the aim 7 sparrow in the world due to its specialized design to intercept Soviet bombers which is less manueverable than a fighter jet and it was decommissioned early in 2005 but in muvluv they decommissioned them in the 1999 which is very sad for me the f15 was made in the 70 same with the tomcat and the f16 in the 80 which was considered the golden age for the US military aviation technology the reason for these is pretty much the Soviet over hyping there military aviation technology causing the american to s*"** there pants developed the f15 until some russian dude fly there best fighter the mig 25 foxbat in to japan to seek asylum to the US then this was proven to be suck at dogfighting and its only threat is its speed at mach 2.5 causing the US to be 2 steps ahead of its enemies the f16 however was design to be uhhhhhhh........very unstable for maneuverability relaying only with its fly by wire avionics to fly but still the best selling fighter which is cheap price than the f15 with both of these fighters were purchased by japan and other European countries converting there f16 in to f2 with its badass blue camouflage were license but today Japan has plans to retire both fighter and replace them with the F35 however there is one country still using the tomcats iran but half of them were cannibalize because of parts shortages due to the deteriorating relationship with iran and the US which before that they are Allies in the past they bought 2 squadrons of tomcats from the us but due to deteriorating relationship iran no longer buys parts from the Us due to sanctions but in the muvluv universe they are still allies with the US even going even further to modernized them in to 2.5 TSF
I really need to take the time to learn the history of military aircraft. It's crazy interesting so I'm really greatful for your summary!
@@TheBlueShifting thanks Im not trying to spoil anything including the history if you finished reading total eclipse try another muvluv which is the story of yui called the imperial capital burns you can also see some tomcats in action before it's retirement if only if the shwarzesmarken were translated tho were we go back to 1983 to east Germany I watch the anime a it's good with so many skip contents as always with muvluv anime with sad back stories and political agendas of the NATO and Warsaw pact governments
