- A detailed walk-though of two methods for replacing the old style P320 slide catch/slide release/slide stop with the new forward swept style part. Newer grip modules will only work with the new style slide catch, whereas the new slide catch functions with new or legacy grip modules.

This may be an older video, but it was just what I needed to install a Wilson Combat extended slide release. Thanks so much for the concise instructions. Made the whole job simple.
just like all your videos, thanks for giving me confidence in taking apart my gun
Great video. I was able to release the pin without using a pick. Turning the fcu upside down is key, thanks for the tip. The whole exercise to kk me about 3 minutes.
Great video. You made the change out look easy. One of the most important pieces of info was in the attached text. the new slide catch still works with the legacy grips.
Thank you so much! Went from my subcompact to a compact frame.
Thanks for your time and video. Info made the new grip module and slide catch replacement easy.
Thanks for the video. Replaced my frame and slide stop this evening. The video was very helpful!!!
Great demonstration on the installation, but a longer close up view of the before and after (maybe as a divided screen, side by side) to give people a better idea as to what to expect would have been more helpful.
Thanks alma. That post was driving me crazy! Lol great video!
Thx a lot. With your video it was piece of cake.
Very informative and you defiantly make it look easy!! Thanks!!!!
Thanks Again Alma, you make it very easy.
Doesn't look to be as troublesome as changing out the trigger. Will likely do this sometime in the future. Thanks for showing.
Thanks for the video. I was able to do this with no problems.
Thank you for making this video.
Thanks for great video. I was wondering why they sent extra slide catch with my x change kit. After watching your video I realize that I have newer model p320 so I don't have to change it. In an event that if I have to, because of your video, I could do it.
LOL! Same here. I was confused there for a bit. Glad I found this video.
Hey great video I'm having an issue getting the slide on correctly for some reason it wont pull all the way back to engage the slide lock and when trying to pull back the slide I keep noticing the guide rod isint straight also the the saftey keeps engaging preventing me from putting the takedown lever in the correct position any ideas???? Please help me!!!!
Dude - you rock! Thanks.
Thanks much. It helped me a lot
Are the little spring and spring detent different dimensions from the originals?
4:55 he finally replaces it
How did you get the stainless look on your slide?
Alma what sights are you running, and what magwell? Thanks for posting informative videos, very helpful.
Dawson front sight, the rear is from a SIG P220 Elite Match and Bruce Gray did the install. The magwell is actually a stainless STI magwell and it built the grip up to work with it. Springer Precision makes several types or P320 magwells that he installs as a service.
Nice, Yeah I saw SP had magwells. Any chance you would be willing to do a video on how you modified the grip for the magwell . I have a few STI magwells that I would like to put to use. Did Bruce have to mill the slide for the rear sight install?
Looking for a video you posted regarding wrong assembly of gun. I forgot toput the take down lever in. I now have the FCU attached to the upper assembly I have looked thru you videos but cant find it
Make sure it's empty and try pulling the trigger to disassembled. If not that then take of the back plate to release the striker. Good luck!
This might be a dumb question but I have to ask it anyway. I bought a 320 when it first came out and I just ordered a new grip module and it came with a new catch release. My question is when I put the new catch release on will I be able to use it on my old grip too or does it only fit the new grip ?
The new small one that ships with the non X-line grips work with all of the grip modules
Has anyone noticed after swapping out with the new catch lever & spring that the slide will go into battery and rack a round if you pop the magazine in with any small amount of force? It never did this with the old catch & spring.
I'm also aware that many polymers do this, but I don't consider this a "feature" regardless of what other on the intertubes may say.
I am a still using the old style and it does this occasionally. I really haven't been keeping track of how often it does it versus not.
Would appreciate knowing the thickness of the new flat-lever.
Plz measure with a caliper.
Thanks

could you send a link as the where you ordered it?
Great video Alma! How are you liking the new style?
+Scsu74 I don't have enough time on it yet to give a definitive answer but the position is much closer to what I had been used to prior to moving to the P320 platform. I have an all-day training course tomorrow that should give me a better chance to kick the tires.
THANK YOU!!!!
Thank you! 🙏🏻
Perfect!
What is the model number of that grip? I am looking on sigs site and can't find the new looking grip. Will the 320x grip fit on a regular p320 compact?
For a Compact you would want to grab the X Carry version, but it is the longer 17 round mag length. That's GRIP-MODX-CA-943-M-BLK.
The new X-Compact grips should be available soon.
A small dab of grease will hold the spring assembly in the slid catch.
Hi. Did you order your new-style frame separately, or did it come with a larger kit? Many of us have been trying to order a new style grip module (for the new slide stop), but kept getting the older ones...with Sig CS telling us the they had to sell out of the old sick before shipping the new. Been going on for several months.
I ordered three Large grips directly from SIG some time ago. It had been on backorder so I assume this is pretty fresh off of the line. The new style release was packaged with the new grip.
Alma Cole Wow...quite a few P320 owners have been trying to get the new grip for months, and were told the there was no way they could determine whether we'd get and older or newer one...even recently. Are you sponsored by them or such? As I said earlier, it's been a frustrating cycle for quite a few off us P320 owners.
Maybe just the large ones are ready, since many like myself have been trying to get a compact one. Thanks for responding, and great instructional video.
+Fugettaboutit, I am sponsored but I have been putting in orders just like anybody else. As matter fact I got a compact shipped to me today that is still the old style. My assumption is that the groups that are most popular will be the first ones transitions to the new style so if you buy a new full size medium grip today then I'm betting it will be the new one. if you are getting something more obscure I might still be the older style. When I got my large groups it was the first time that I had seen large grips with the new style so that seems to be one of the ones rolling out now
Alma Cole Yeah, I think it might just be the the Large frames since the mediums are the ones I know about (like mine) that came in the old-style...twice...and quite a few of us have been doing the same buy-return-reorder dance. It's frustrating. I figured the compact was more popular amongst civilian buyers, but we'll have to see. Much thanks.
Thanks you I appreciate it
Thanks! Sigs sending me the xfive slide catch lever for my p320m17.
Do you know if you can order a P320 with the new slide stop but old take down. I have the compact and like the old td lever.
+ZeroCipher7 Sorry, I don't know. Give SIG Customer service a call. You might still be able to order the old style and retrofit as necessary. I prefer the old style too.
+Alma Cole Thanks. I will
Can you tell me what is the lightest recoil spring I can safely use in a P320 full size. Thank you
I don't know about lightest, but Gray Guns has a 15 lb. spring (full-size only). It's the only one I could find.
mh59 I wouldn't run less than a 12lb. 13 is the lowest I personally run.
Looks like your working on a pre upgrade FCU (7 yrs ago). Yes?..
I switched from compact to carry slide. I installed everything pretty easily but slide is locking back every time with an empty mag well. What did I do wrong?
Brandon Haverstock is it possible you have the older large style slide catch? A new small one comes in the box.
I swore I put on the one that came in the box and it was too large. There is a chance I got them mixed up. Either way, I got it fixed. The medium grip is quite a bit larger than the small but it absorbs the recoil of the .45 much better. Im good to go now, but I appreciate the response.
can you put up a link to buy the new slide catch?
thanks
fuzzy Wuzzy it ships with the new style grip modules or call SIG directly to order the side catch kit. I can get the product code tonight if needed.
Cool, thanks
Where did you get the new module style from
From the SIG Store, Top Gun Supply, or Quantico Tactical.
+Alma Cole mine came with the new style just having a hard time finding the compact small for 9mm
Wow thx
Where can I get the SIG COIN LOGO any link
I bought a bunch off of ebay. Not sure if there are any more there.
Only side stop that is any good is the Wilson combat extended version on 320s.
What caliber sig is this ?
9mm
What's the part number on that new lever?
The new take down lever is 1300777-R. New slide catch is 1300891-R or KIT-320-SCL
+Alma Cole thank you.
+Alma Cole I don't know why I can't find these anywhere. Even sig's website is showing no results.
+Dan Bowser give SIG Sauer call directly. They should be able to help you out. Additionally, the new style slide catch is being packaged with the new style grips.
How can I get those grips!
+chris settles That's my personal 3 Gun grip. I built up the bottom and installed an STI stainless steel magwell. It was kind of a pain. On occasion I do the glue and grit jobs for others which is what you see in the picture and I have inset the SIG logos for a very small set of shooters. If you look at Lena Miculek's instagram you can find the one I did for her there. The easiest route to get a good magwell installed is to contact Springer Precision. They have several styles of magwells (including the one on Lena's gun) and a paired service to install them on a set of grips for you. Remember that if you get a magwell installed that you will no longer be able to use the factory base pads and you will have to go to Springer or Taylor Freelance to get an extension.
Thank you for the information. Does Sig send the new release with every frame? I have some old and new.
+chris settles it appears that they are starting to. I heard they are now shipping them with the exchange kits as well.
Hi,... When replacing grip module,... Does the slide assembly need to be replaced as well?... Thanks.
