Saw this guy and his act in Trenton a few weeks ago on the Dragons tour. It was lovely. He showered just as much affection on those cats as I do my house pets.
even then though...these cats dont deserve to have to live like this.

The big lion's name is Masai. Just got a chance to see Mr. Lacey and his cats perform last night. He's very, very talented. Wish I could afford more circus tickets to see the show again.
I actually worked for the Ringling bros most of this year and actually got a chance to see and become good friends with Alex and he really truly is a good guy with a lot of respect for his cats and he can big a bit of a prankster too but that's only on the days when we all need a good pick me up
I got a question do you ever get to pet or be near the lions and tigers before the show

Whel i am so glade to read all the comments and finaly sum american people who finaly are understand that you can also heave a good number off lions and tigers in the show. Alex is one off the people who did think 8 years before he did deside to go to ringling. Becose he also no there is a lot to do about in the past how ringling did treed there animals.

Why all know how circuses treat their animals but I don't think that Is the case with the ringling bros
Has the leopard ever been in performance?
Bella, the whips and sticks are used as arm extensions and are not used physically. If you visit Behind the scenes of the WELFARE of Circus animals on Facebook you can see how performing animals are trained by positive reinforcement and food. There are videos about training on there, there are also photos and videos for you to see that the welfare of the animals in a Circus environment meets all the regulations required by both the RSPCA and DEFRA. Does anyone remember the names of the lions/tigers in the show? I remember Prince, Princess, Goldie, and Mariah, but I can't remember the others. I REALLY liked the male lion's name. I've looked everywhere online but I can't find them. Thank you!! :)
Alex and his brother martin are 2 off the best trainers in the world you will never see martin ore alex force there animals to do a trick a good example is that prince his bog male tiger did for a couple off weeks not the role over like the 3 female tirgers do in the show dont ask me why buth i no alex looks before the show what the cats can do ore not.

Another way to look at it, if you were given £5 / $5 for jumping from a chair, and you jumped from the chair again and received money again, you'd carry on doing it for more reward. If someone forced you to get up onto that chair, then whipped you for doing it, would you get up again?
Animals do not work by fear, they work for reward, and because they love and trust their trainer.
Ask someone who owns a dog, did they train it to sit, lie down and fetch by hitting it or for praise?

all the atacs in the show did train alex with goldy goldy is cumming out off a german zoo and is a verry gentel and good lion female. I realy hope that people are going to understand that the tiger and lions act off alex is nathing more then respect and love for his animals.

Alex did heave in europe a habitat that was the biggest transportable habitat in europe alex heave on this moment 16 cats 9 in the show and 8 youger cats Massai the lion is now almost 3 years old his dead massai sr did die last year on the age of 17
if only you saw how they train the baby elephants...they use hooks dude. and they stick them into their feet/ beat them with it

Well, a) Sadly Ringling is already closed and has been for about a year now i think & b) these animals would probably be dead if they were in the wild. They haven't been in the wild and are not used to fighting other animals so they probably wouldn't live too long afterwards. Sad but true

He is under investigation and will be shut down. Ringling Bros retired their Elephants thank God finally but what about the other animals???? I just wish he would do what is right and let them be free in a nice sanctuary. Do the right thing.
33 Lions were just returned to Africa and they are flourishing and happy and at Peace! These cats in this circus have been ROBBED of their birthright and they should not be performing for people. This is inhumane. Animals should not be forced to live like this!!! This is wrong. They are wild animals who are not where they belong naturally. This is terrible. How unnatural! This will come to an end and I pray soon! I am not against the circus, only against wild animals in circuses.
