- Icon have reunited with original vocalist Stephen Clifford and are working on a new album! 2021 may be the year we see a new release from these guys so keep your fingers crossed! American heavy metal/glam metal band founded in 1981 in Phoenix, Arizona and disbanded in 1990. They are still around doing live shows but no new albums since 1989's Right Between The Eyes but hopefully with the reformation of the band that will change. Dan Wexler and Stephen Clifford have said the new music is a combination of their first and second albums with plans to hopefully to get their discography back in print and out there for fans. I had this video up on my channel before but I recently found a better copy of it in my boxes of music so here it is in much better quality. Enjoy!

My brother Jerry Harrison was there second singer. Love both versions of the band
Awesome! I remember Jerry's band Harlequin also. Both great bands!
U wish
I love those albums…a far cry is one of my fave songs of all time
Awesome. Icon were such an brilliant band. Still rocking them today. Class never goes away. Steve 👍
Wow thats cool. What is he up to now?
1984/85 were the best years of metal
I say 83/84
@@PortlandSucksss It started to go downhill late 80s as Grunge and Alternative took popularity but tbh metal could have survived if the bands had better coverage by rock magazines
1987 was the best year for metal
@@stevenlastnik7461 Bit more commercial with MTV but it was a good year. Metal was great until about 1990/91 but obviously grunge took over
Definitely mid 70’s till early 80’s for metal early 80’s NWOBHM days till early 90’s for extreme metal (thrash, death and black metal) for me
Wonderfull band, it's a shame that it's not so famous, it's underrated
Incredible band awesome guitars jhon aquilino and dan wexler
This 1984 self titled album still kicks ass 🤘
drums 😁😁
Just found icon best singer I've ever heard
Definitely does Scott. One of my very first vinyl albums. Steve 👍
Definitely. Still kicks your ass. Steve 👍
Stephen Clifford was an awesome singer. They made 2 absolutely brilliant albums.
80s the best era of rock music.
Saw these guys when they were called "Schoolboys" ...Very tight and polished act
Yeh I saw them in The Mason Jar back in the day they were very tight! I was in a band called Mad Hatter in those days.
my good buddy Zach just told me to check this band out since he knows I like hair metal. I'm not disappointed at all. very cool stuff.
On your feet. Icon still rock hard. Absolutely brilliant days. Steve 👍
That's how you do bad ass 80s rock videos!
These should been really big
What a frigging gem!!.,,why weren’t they massive?
The first 2 were brilliant albums with Clifford. I still listen to them regularly. Wish they would get this next album out. I’m not getting any younger lol.
Can’t wait to hear more ICON. All the way from down under in OZ
Great under rated band, both singer’s were very good !
this song sounds like quiet riot.
Saw the guitarist singer Steve on Dr Pimple Popper getting a nasty cyst popped on his neck, classic that hes funeral director now,but carts his guitar and amp around in his hearse(coach as he calls it) and still knocks out a mean riff and spur of the moment song about the good Dr. Blasting in the carpark NO LESS, hes working on a new album, cant wait to hear it.Glad the minor op went well and you still have that rocking metal attitude.
I just realized how much he sounds like kevin dubrow
Greatest days of my life the 80s and early 90s. This band were absolutely brilliant. Second album was an absolute classic. Steve 👍
After 36 years with this quality...amazing
Out for blood
Please!! 🤘
Wow thanks to rock Candy magazine for sharing a link to this, as never seen it before. First 2 Icon albums are classics. Can't wait to hear the new stuff from Dan & Steve
That would be very cool
@@aaronrepp8182 there is no new stuff what is he talking about
Why would Steve rock now when he turned it down for god it would contrdiciting
That's a great song in the first album. Night of the crime is my favorite second Albums that I was listen to it. A More Perfect Union Album is my favorite one because it's has cassette tape in 1987. Jerry Harrison is my favorite vocals and Stephen Clifford too.
Me tooo
I still have my signed copy of the album
@@sherrialice 👍
Icon is back in studio late 24 early 25 for sowthing new ..great news
Great band they sound good
Love this! I wonder why the older heavy metal videos have not been uploaded to CZcams in higher quality by the studios who first released them to MTV if they still are around but I guess they just want to pretend they never existed!
Freakin great!
Great album. Perfect mix between force and melody
Nice! They kinda remind me of a cross btwn Motley Crue & Quiet Riot
Dressed like *looks that kill* & sound like Kevin Dubrow
Almost wanna say Dangerous Toys too but I’d have resisted to one of their songs. But if I recall
They kicked ass with this album
Esta banda pudo ser lo que hubiera querido,se extraña,me quedo con sus dos primeros discos!!!!!!
Night of the crime es una joya
Thanks guys for making this brilliant album. Still rocks my days. Absolutely brilliant. Steve 🎸👍
Classic. Such a shame these guys weren't massive. Steve 👍
Always wondered why they never gof bigger. Great band.
Dude I had an Icon cassette back in the day. Digging this channel digging up all these lost gems.
Thanks! I have all Icon Cd's. Glad to hear they're back together with original vocalist Stephen Clifford and recording a new album. 2021 may be a good year if they get it done!
@@Metaldog38sHomeOfMetal yea heard about that
Quiet riot to the end
Except the fact that Icon could write a song.
Saw them at Ryan's corner in St Paul Mn. I had a job at photo place. Our new boss was telling me about cool band from Arizona where he moved from. I said, yep I know I saw them here and they kicked ass!!
Just watched the lead singer on Dr. PIMPLE POPPER.🤘🤘🤘🤘

Amo este vídeo tempo bom
My God what have I stumbled upon....
First time listening to this band. They are reminiscent of Quiet Riot and WASP in my opinion.
would really like to know how he got that guitar tone. sounds killer
Pretty good
This band is legendary uuufffff 🤘🏽2022🦾🇨🇱
Good stuff. Shame never stumbled onto this till now
Did you come here after watching Dr pimple popper too lol
@@kerriannmatitsaroundalday2994 yup
El primer cantante, fue el emblema de la banda.
Sobre todo en el 2do álbum
Apenas me doy cuenta que también sale el nombre de otra banda y que es muy buena "Danger Danger".
You like it loud...you like it hard
I had Icon's first album way back in the day. I liked it. The problem with the decade of 1980's was, bands of this particular genre - hard rock/heavy metal/pop hair metal, etc, - they were starting to saturate and inundate the market to the point of absurdity by the time 1986 rolled around. They were all starting to sound like each other, and look like each other. It was a blurry line between them all. There was no "uniqueness" anymore. Icon, Quiet Riot, KISS, Motley Crue, Helix, Kick Axe, Manowar, etc, etc, etc.....the list goes on and on. It wasn't until 1986 with Tesla's first album, and 1987 with Guns 'N Roses first album and 1988's Black Crowes first album, did I finally start to re-gain some "hope" in rock music again. Three very excellent stand-alone hard rock albums that basically flew the middle finger to what the typical scene was that was going on at that time.
New Icon?! After all these years?! Sign me up. So under rated.
What u mean new icon it's never gonna happen
This whole album is good imo, the rest of their stuff fell well short
only 3rd album isn't as good because it has a different singer. 1st album is the best but 2nd is also amazing
2nd album is better
Hey how do I find it near me in mi
I want to see them big time
Still blows my mind this is a Mike Varney album......
Love 80s cheesy videos
2:30
Just seen him on pimple popper
Kinda sounds like Krokus, another kick-ass late 70’s early 80’s metal band
Sounds like Quiet Riot
1984's Apple Mac (computer) Ridley Scott-directed commercial; the Woman (Anya Major) with the Hammer, tossing it to the (George Orwell) "Big Brother" TV screen and breaking/shattering it to a million pieces, comes to my mind = when I see this music video.
😋akee🎉
m
❤
Eddie Trunk Produced the band
local boys...got to meet them just before they changed their name from "Schoolboys" to "Icon"...they were all cool, except for Dan Wexler...he was a prick.
Is this Quiet Riot
Una verdadera obra de arte" un fuull clásico de los 80 as"...Icon" una banda que se lució con las mejores de esos tpos"..Uno de mis temas favoritos y de mi coleccion"!!
quiot roit..ish
These ladies can rock!! Haha...butt rock.
Very cliché .....not sure all the praise of late is warranted.
Cliche by what standards? If you weren't there to see the 80's happen then you missed out and have no clue. This was '84 when this came out and to many not the best track on the album but the only one from it to get a video. It was not cliche in '84 it was cutting edge and deserved better than it received.
@@Metaldog38sHomeOfMetal I was there. I remember liking the album, just not so much now that I hear it again. 🤷♂️
@@twikirobot6897 Cliche is right, they were cliche then as well IMHO. I was there in the eighties and remember Cinderella, Ratt , Slayer, White Snake ...to me they were all cliche even then. Too poser esque for me. I just couldn't take them seriously even when I was 17. Give me Pink Floyd, Zepplin or the Stones any day! No disrespect to Metal tho , seriously it was loved by many back then.
One of the most underrated bands of the 80s. Wonder why they didnt get the recognition they deserved. They should have been huge.
