Rachel can do justice for any song she sings. Cant get enough of her!
Me too!
She's a miracle. Dang I miss Live from Here.
Meaning Please Babe?
She's such a risk taker. The band Lake Street Dive is so out of the norm, so impossible to pin down. They are great
Yup, she's no Grace Slick but she is Rachel Price. Both phenomenal in their own rights
Good call DeLia. Rachel is no Grace just as Grace is no Rachel.
Please stop comparing, too many very good musicians in this world. Bach and Beethoven are dead and still played, so what ?
@@benedictgarnier1928 comparisons make no sense. There will always be someone more or less talented. Individual talent os subjective.
Watch Pink's performance as well..she kills it. Even Grace acknowledged it
@@Karl_Drogo55 and Grace Potter's is good too. czcams.com/video/1Vy1OoBAL-E/video.html
Rachel informs us exactly what the words to the song actually were. And gives you goosebumps to boot. 😅
It’s a great version but it also makes you realize what a set of pipes Grace Slick had.
True. There will never be a voice like hers on that record again.
Nobody will sing it like her and anything else seems not good enough.
I can listen to all kinds of covers of many songs and easily forgive any deviation but for some reason with this song it doesnt work. Its chiseled in my brain and eardrums.
Grace Potters version is pretty good but Slicks original is still the gold standard. Effortless power and clarity.
Count Blue Agree. I don’t care for her voice.
Grace recorded the original vocal track without music in a sound booth. The instrument track was added later. There is a CZcams recording of this session. Slick's personna and voice can and will never be matched. . .off with their heads. 👑♥️
No offence, GS did not have pipes like Rachel
Covering a song like this is so brave and everyone has their opinions subjective to their own biases…That being said I truly enjoyed the liberties taken with the vocal presentation. Beautiful voice and such killer vibrato.
Really great rendition, but it also makes you appreciate just how amazing Grace was.
Amazing Grace (Slick)
Grace Slick wrote it.
I found myself comparing this live version to the studio version of Grace Slick, and realized that wasn't fair, so I found a live version. Grace Slick finishes second. She sings it faster, but doesn't have the range of the singer in this video.
@@gregraleigh5946 one must take into account the quality of the recording equipment between the era’s. She can sing but on the same level as Grace probably not.
I won a karaoke contest singing this! 🤣 Let's just say the competition wasn't too ruff!
Grace sang it with a noticeable, ever increasing urgency that climaxed into desperation, at the same time time mixing that with what appeared to be unlimited horsepower in her vocal delivery....very hard to duplicate that..
Very well put!
Exactly - well said. Having said that, this singer does a fabulous job.
Extremely well put! Grace Slick is a rock & roll legend for a reason and nothing showcases why better than her vocals on White Rabbit..
10111110
This may be the greatest musical description I've heard
Wow. Just WOW. I am continually amazed at Rachel's voice. Can' get enough.
Same here.
As a die-hard Jefferson Airplane fan, I’ll say that Rachel Price and these musicians did a terrific job . The high intensity isn’t easy to bring if you don’t have the voice to back it up, but these folks were great.
I grew up in Southern California as a teenager in the’60’s and was privileged to be able to get to see a huge number of bands (we didn’t think about it being history, it’s just what we did at the time). The Airplane was / is my favorite. Always.
This is why we need live from here..for just such moments. And there were so many! Transcendent..
Taking on such a mammoth vocal must always be applauded!
Well that was awesome!
What a fabulous performance. Rachael Price is a wonderful singer.
She is amazing!!
This song brought back memories of my reckless youth. Rachael did a great job; the wonderful lyrics were easy to understand. Thanks for this.
Beautiful version. Rachael has a great voice - never heard of her before.
What a voice, what a charismatic performer. She dominates the stage and I didn't even know of the existence of Rachel Price and Lake Street Dive until several months ago when I discovered them on CZcams, what a shame this group is not on a BIG stage.
U need to see them Live. Fantastic.
JUST FOUND OUT TODAY!
OMG! Rachael nailed this. I don't care what's in the comments, Rachael's voice is every bit as strong Grace's. Powerful. Never heard of her before but I'm going to find out who she is.
Bravo.. You did a great job on this iconic song. You shouldn’t be compared to Grace Slick, nor should she be compared to you. Two different voices, both terrific in their own right. Kudos to you for taking on such a task!
Serves as a reminder just how amazing the original was (and always will be) !!!
I saw both Jefferson Airplane and Jefferson Starship perform this song and this is a damn good rendition.
Rachel has a tremendous voice and she's a beautiful presence on stage too.
When I saw this in the musicians birthday vid, my first thought while I had goosebumps all over my body was that it should be its own separate video, so I’m very happy to see this. Rachael’s voice is one of a kind! 🌟
I really enjoy that Rachael Price and Haley Reinhart are drawing inspiration from a similar well of classic pop/rock and jazz. Excellent performers of the same generation (Rachael is 5 years older) with tremendous respect for their musical forebears, but completely different styles!
Aaron Minnick haley is great too! Good comparison!
Haley's version I saw on YT live is awesome!
Omg!! She is so talented!! Nailed it!!! Racheal Price is a goddess in her own right! Thar woman has it going o, great voice. Love listening to her
A great rendition by a singer with an amazing voice. Celebrate two incredible voices because they are both incredible.
Wow. Great job Rachel. And I was there.
fabulous singer
I can't think of anyone better to cover this than Rachael Price. This was absolutely beautiful.
well said.
Gillian Welch does my favourite cover, try and find her first attempt at Telluride.
Wow... this is RACHEL... so glad she does not try to „copy-paste“ Grace... Grace was unbelievable in her time... Rachel is in hers...
Love not only this woman but the whole band....
I love her covers of 70s/80s songs with Lake Street Dive band....
I never thought anyone could do this song justice but Grace. Rachael did a great job, and really got into it near the end. Thank you.
Just came across this and was floored by the performance. Not many singers take this song on and Rachael Price put a wonderful spin on the song which I will enjoy many times. As with most classic pieces of vocals, no one seems to do it better than the singer who made it happen and Slick has a well deserved unique place, but it's nice to have a second take on a song I grew up with. Well done.
Boa goosebumps - what an unbelievable voice control, what an expression 👍👏😃
incredible crescendo. perfect slow ride up the mountain and ultimate explosive climax. don't want to compare it to the legend of Grace Slick. But, Rachael stands on her own and her version has her own greatness infused in it. It leaves you wanting for nothinng. Grace's is riveting and piercing. Rachael's is riveting but not as piercing, slightly softer, creamier and melodic. Grace already gave us the message loud and clear. Rachael softened the blow, just a tad. I could listen to both of them again and again.
I was lucky to have seen her sing this on Live From Here with Chris Thile live from St. Paul. The theatre was electrified. Heard her and Madison Cunningham on those shows a few times and have adored each since. That show featured so many other great artists I was fortunate to see as well; John Baptiste, Emily King, the Avett Bros, Andrew Bird, Marcus Mumford, Chris Stapleton, Dr. Dog and Paul Simon. I miss that program and the live music so much.
Rachael's got a great version here, i like it! she does quite well on this song that anybody will always be compared to Grace Slick to...
Rachel Price is friggin amazing
Some people just don’t like when someone kills a cover of what they think is perfection. This, in my humble opinion, was awesome!
Awesome cover of an iconic song. Thanks for sharing!
So difficult to cover such a iconic song but Rachel did a great job!
Starts with a calm and ends with feed your head on afterburners!
Bravo!!!!
This one hit my ears as a lad..mezmerizing ever since. Rachel does iT Pricelessss. With Grace..in slick. From above.
Wow - Rachel! Just Wow! So glad I found this - thank you!
My very conservative (at the time) father bought this album for me at 9, when he went to St Louis, MO on his his big business trip. It took several years for the the words to make sense. It's safe to say that the message eluded my father always but the bigger message made it's way for him. He's still my number one hero.
OMG! I first heard the Grace Slick version 50ish years ago. Then a few years ago I heard Grace Potter nail it, and now this. Wonderful. Thank you Rachel and Chris for bringing this to us.
I saw Grace Potter cover this at a festival in the mountains of WV many years ago. She was the best to cover thus far. I love Rachel's effort on this one. She's got the gold on many other covers.
Best tribute to the song and songstress I’ve ever heard, bravo lady!
Walter listen to her version of
Can't find my way home by blind faith
Really just great. Simply great
What a voice !!!!
Awesome version ! I am so mad they canceled live from here !! Chris Thile is the man !!
Awesome performance!
Great singer!
Excellent
That's the first time I have understood all of the lyrics to that song.
She has a diva's power and control, and renders this song beautifully
well the band nailed it
WOW!!!!!!!!!!
She is just wonderful.
Watching Mrs Price perform is breathtakingly.
p
I've seen Rachael do a number of covers but this one blows them all out of the water! A phenomenal performance, play it as loud as you dare!!!!
Classy version of a song about drugs...Beautiful voice...I imagine Rachael isn't into taking psychedelic drugs, so her heart wasn't in it... but she did a great job. Classless move by the guy who stood next to her before she finished the song.
Not about drugs. Magic Mushrooms. A gift from the plant world. The drugs that Mom gives you don't do anything at all except harm you.
@@chrisbarnstable945 I think there's a line in the song about taking pills...I have no problem with shrooms or weed
@@thesnowdogs Yes our parents pills. The ones that mom gives you do nothing at all. Just ask alice...
@@chrisbarnstable945 it's the first line of the song..one pill makes you larger and one pill makes you small. What do you think Grace was referring to?
@@thesnowdogs Well it's about illegal drugs in general. Some (weed & mushrooms) make you larger, help you grow. Others (meth & opioids) make you small, stunt yer growth. While the ones that Mother gives you (prescription) don't do anything at all. Go ask Alice...
Outstanding!! Thank you!!
wow, I loved this. LOVED!!!!!
Both singers are amazing. The amount of control she had on the vibrato is beautuful. grace slicks felt more natural and heartfelt honestly, but this is gr8
Awesome Rachael!!!
Bravo 👏👏✌. Great version and thankyou. Greetings to Grace.
This game me chills. Wow!
Gosh, I had a thing for Rachel Price before but I think I am absolutely in love.
I kinda got a thing for the base player in Lake Street Dive
Thanks for doing this for us!
What a talented artist. Captivating.
So nice. Thank you.
What a legendary performance. She's an incredible singer!
This is the first time I've seen Rachel not wearing some funky pants.
@@episttewhatever?!!
Interesting juxtaposition, Rachel Price and Grace Slick. Great performance by Ms Price!
Sent from my iPad
Wow. Amazing voice Rachel
Fantastic! The hair stood up on my head a little.
awesome
Wow!😮
Beautiful...well done
Damn ... lady has some pipes!!! Bravo!!
Awesome vocal!
Well done Rachael - there are few singers who could have a go at White Rabbit and succeed!
Ms.Price your great diction gave that song a little different edge, and it was Excellent! So hard to take a song from an old great singer and redo it well, but you did! Please keep singing!
This woman haunts my dreams, and I love it
Wow Ms. Price
Amazing!!!
Wow, what a voice!
Rachel Price is a consummate performer. Listen to “Clear a Space”. She’s all right by me.
My word. Thank heavens for Rachel Price.
I really enjoyed this.
Haven't clicked on a video that fast in a long time.
Stunning rendition..
Lol fucking ridiculous how good this is. Unbelievable.
The best way to celebrate Grace 80. Birthday!!!
That was awesome
Almost takes my breath away.
Wow! That's the best version of White Rabbit I've heard in a long time, and the best not sung by Grace. Kudos!
Wow!
WOW!
Beautiful.
Nice!
