See, this is one of the many things that I loved and admired about Queen Elizabeth; and that is that even though she was so very famous and tremendously well loved and admired the world over, she was still a very down to earth, real and humble lady. She did have the right priorities, like duty and the people she loved. She could wear jewels and crowns, and the most elegant exquisite attire, and I think that it mattered little to her, because that wasn't where her heart was. Those things were probably just material things to her. She ruled and reigned by serving her people. I’ve met many famous people through working at a small, but expensive restaurant in metro Detroit. What I learned quickly, is you might not recognize celebrities because you’re used to seeing them in movies and television, which is a flat representation of them. When you meet them in life, you’re seeing their face in depth, and they’re actually talking to you. I think it’s why sometimes when seeing celebrities, people stare, they can’t believe they’re actually seeing a person they’ve been familiar with perhaps their whole life. It’s especially strange when you meet someone you find attractive, it happened to me a few times. I nearly made a fool of myself once when I met David Groh who played Rhoda’s husband in the 1970’s.
