    Ive found Miwa as a good tech spot in the deck. You feign not having the Ramza trigger live and dropping it down to potentially cheat in another free point of damage has felt really good.

      I like her too! The healing effect is also good to protect Curilla from ping damage. I'd love to have some way to get her back from the bz at instant speed (6CP Leviathan?) but I'm afraid the deck has no space for something like that

    This has been one of the bigger surprises of the set for me so far in playtesting - I just didn’t think the knights quality was entirely there that a deck where most forwards are, by necessity, knights had what it takes. My deck list online literally had a :( in the name since I just wasn’t seeing it.
    That said, in practice, I’ve been extremely impressed. I don’t think it’s tier 1 or maybe even tier 2 but Curilla’s size and protection is much, much better than I thought it was. It wasn’t until I had Heca and Jenova Synthesis and Ursula and realized that almost none of them had text before I realized that even her passive is better than it reads, especially with Ovelia on field.
    Personally, I’m still on 5 drop Agrias and you won’t catch me dead with that Steiner in a deck of mine but Curilla only missed getting the 4 CP refund once, despite making room for 9 summons and 15 backups. I think there’s also potential to run Twins here, in much the same way Warriors used to run them as a super compact engine.
    It used to be a big meme among my group that I’d call Knights one card away from playable but… they might have actually been one card away lol.

      Definitely a different way to build it and I have not figured out the midrange version so if you do please reach out lol. I can sell you on Steiner on this list (which is about 90% of what Im on). Im on a 1 backup aggro plan and my other backup is Merl. Often the best line of play is Ramza warp T1. Merl allows us to go get and play Gawain who gets Ramza + Steiner who is used to warp Ramza. In this playstyle also you want to hit 2 cards of Curilla instead of 1 value card so we need ALL the 2cps lol.
      I want to be playing midrange and Im curious as to how Curilla changes her role there so tag me if you make a video!

    Heya, great deck tech! I have been playing similar prior to opus 22, but I'm fire ice splashing water instead. There are a couple of tricks I play - including dark Maria and phoenix (the reanimate one) which works very well with the otherwise uncastable Titania 😅

      Wow, sounds interesting. Probably more Summon- and lategame-focused and less of a rush deck than this is.
      I kind of like the thought of using Rinoa to flicker Curilla. Since you can't flicker 7WOL, this seems like the next best thing. ;)

    This looks so cool! I've been looking for a non category deck, and Knights look like the plan. But Glaciela has a $28 price tag, and I can't do that atm. What/who would be a good swap in for her? This deck is actually super budget and would love to build it.

      I play The Demon (20-007L), for having an AOE + Break zone control, I think it is important to have that. Hope that can help !

      You can go full Delita. While you can never cast him other than Edgar, he is amazing to hit off Curilla, provides more ice CP for Lasswell hardcast and allows you to play a Matt in the LB deck who works extremely well with Ramza

  • @HyperOneGlove

    If I play Ramza to get Curilla, then Curilla lets me play 2 more knights, can I use Ramza's ability immediately?
    I'm struggling to find references to the difference between the word dull and the dull icon in the rules, but I could just be missing it.

    • @YunaYoungTeam
      @YunaYoungTeam  Před 4 měsíci +1

      Yes, you can!
      Anything that says "⤵️" in the costs is subject to Summon Sickness.
      Anything that merely says "Dull" is not.
      Edit: Comprehensive Rules section 11.6.2.2 clarifies that only ⤵️ costs cannot be fulfilled on a card's first turn in play.

    • @HyperOneGlove
      @HyperOneGlove Před 4 měsíci

      @@YunaYoungTeam The version I found that had that sentence had used the word 'dull' not 'dull icon' which is where I was getting some confusion from.

    I'm currently experimenting with a couple of Rain - the light one seems clunky, I have to agree, although the special that gives haste is tempting for a surprise finisher, and pairs well with opus XXI Rain. I'm also liking the goblin package, it feels bad to take some slots away but it's cheap and it helps you round up your Garland's pings, or Amaterasu a bigger target. What are your thoughts on warping Ramza? I've done that a couple of times on turn one with a quite bad starting hand, but I'm wondering if it's really worth to delay the Ramza/Curilla play for two turns in exchange for not emptying your hand and being more vulnerable to board clears

    • @HyperOneGlove
      @HyperOneGlove Před 4 měsíci

      Turn 1 warp is a fine play, it just means your opponent should hold a summon that can stop his auto or remove your break zone for the start of your turn.
      Or prepare to board wipe you the turn after.
      If you can dig to Curilla, discard her and then have Ramza resolve, it feels just as good as turn 1 dumping your hand to get Ramza / Curilla in play, but you should have more cards to try and protect them with.

    I added a small warrior package as Firion is too good in these colors. 2 Taivas, 3 Firion, and a Yuzuki.

    • @YunaYoungTeam
      @YunaYoungTeam  Před 5 měsíci +1

      I was thinking about that, too!
      Ultimately I found that about 50% of matchups, I was just playing Larsa and then no other Backups because I needed to be the aggressor, so Firion was pretty inefficient to cast without Taivas' help.
      That, and it starts to cut into the accuracy of Curilla. Probably would need to cut Cuchulainn and Glaciela. :/

      Haha, I feel like there's an equal committee of people who hate sample hands as those who miss them.
      Ultimately, time was of the essence when recording the other night, and I figured more people would prefer more decks. :P

      @@YunaYoungTeam Feel like people who don't want to watch sample hands can just skip it. I for one do emjoy watching it to know what cards I should look out for early game. Amazing video though!
