Stretching the main muscles in your legs are a great way to prevent leg cramps. The main muscles to stretch are your calf muscles (calves), hamstring muscles, and your quad muscles.
Also, using compression socks to help prevent leg cramps are great since they help increase circulation and prevent fatigue to the area.
Finally, staying hydrated is really important to prevent cramping in the legs. If none of these help, make sure to check with your doctor to see if something else is causing the cramps.

You need to take a lot of potassium and you're not going to get it from bananas because they actually don't have much potassium .
Lots of spinach or better yet the greens from beet roots... you're better Grocers usually carry them .

I had a really intense leg cramp while doing a 2 min plank yesterday just to stay active but as soon as i stood up i actually felt a little cramp but until the next morning my legs felt so heavy, it felt like a whole pound of potatoes stacked in both of my legs. So i looked up 'how to relieve leg cramps' and i came across this vid so i played it and followed what the lady in the vi did, as soon as both my legs were off my chair taking turns, both of my legs felt loose and wow this kind of technique did kind of work! Kinda impressed

In the first trial today, it seems like the calves are "getting very hard" but after stretching ( I can only wthstand 10 seconds series), I went back to bed, and the difference start to feel. A lot less "pulses" previous to cramps and of course No Cramps.
Just imagine in some more days, going to bed without the Fear of get asleep! I Appreciate.

Whenever I get leg cramps, I spontaneously, immediately stand up from bed and standing still. That actually helps with easing the cramps.
Dude my ex had the same problem. Before we started dating, back in 8th grade when I met her, she would have lots of cramps at night in her thighs and would keep her up and she would be crying of the pain it would cause her. Then she started going on some meds I think i and it would help prevent almost all of them so she could sleep.

This afternoon while I was taking a nap I had an Immediate and intense cramp in my calf. This was the very first cramp of my life at the age of 16 , turns out that I actually ran and then climbed a lot of stairs before taking a nap and didn't even drink water. And that's why I had it. And that experience was horrible, believe me it feels like someone has stabbed in your calf and automatically you start to scream.
i’m a swimmer, and i didn’t stretch properly before, and i don’t drink a lot of water and i got a horrible stabbing calf cramp.

Great advise as always, we all love your videos.
One thing I would like to mention is every time when I got muscles cramp, it is painful, all I have to do is WALK BACKWARD OR CRAW BACKWARD if I can’t stand because it so is painful.
I do not know how but 99% of the times, the paint relieves tremendously. My friend was swimming and he got leg muscle cramp so bad that he was going to drown, I creamed to him to swim backward and he made to safety.
Does not matter where is muscle cramp, just remember to walk backward. Everyone I told all saying it works. Do not know what behind the scene, but it works.

I get leg cramps during and after tennis matches. Should I do these exercises during the change overs or between points to prevent a cramp if I feel like it's coming on or if I've had a light cramp? Or are these only before exercise or while you feel a cramp going on? I've also had my leg cramp while I'm driving home in my stick shift car (very scary). What kind of stretches can I do in the confines of a car?

I only occasionally get nighttime cramps, and usually it's in my quads. Most of the time it's the inner quad muscle and when I shoot out of bed from being awakened by the pain, I attempt to relieve the quad cramp and develop a hamstring cramp. Last night I had cramps in both quads and I nearly passed out from the pain. A cold shower/bath is the quickest way I have found to relieve the cramping. I think dehydration is the main cause. Thank you for the stretching exercises. I think we could relieve most aches and pains by adopting a good stretching routine.

Hi Dr. Jo, I’ve been loving your channel and at 74, fit, but a lot of arthritis, its really helped during this quarantine.
I’ve had foot cramping for years. I drink water and take magnesium, but the pain can be excruciating.

Hey DoctorJo! I woke up about half an hour ago with leg cramps. Do these last that long? I might be thinking theyre just stiff since i had just started running and jumping with my left foot.
