Yeah we need them to release the large screen phones with Windows 11 in it, if they want to (as someone could install Win 11 ARM in some specific phones and functions like the normal mini handheld computer)

The Zune software was awesome, was miles ahead of iTunes. The integration with the Windows Phone was amazing as well.

I always thought that it would be great if Microsoft merged Windows Media Player with Zune Software in Windows 7, it would be counterparting to Mac OS X with iTunes.
It really was just a remake of the xp music service not exactly ahead of iTunes but it was cool zune 30 was kinda bad it was rushed
It's so great to see Microsoft acknowledge Zune. Not only was it a well-designed, gorgeous brand, it was also extremely well loved by its users and had such a fun community. And it actually catered to music lovers and audiophiles, just like Xbox caters to gamers. Both the hardware and software were so unique and innovative and intuitively designed. The hardware came in unique form factors and colours, and allowed for diehard fans to customize the back with cool artwork by various artists, and also came in gorgeous packaging that came with a poster of the same artwork. The UX and UI of the software (both on the device itself and on the desktop) was so smooth, so unique, and had beautiful animations and customizations. Microsoft should really think about revitalizing the Zune brand while the brand is back again in the spotlight with this movie promotion. Currently Music discovery is missing on Windows, and they rely on Spotify instead, which is great as well. Would REALLY love to see a collaboration with Zune and Spotify. Maybe a Zune phone - A Windows phone catered to audiophiles, with Spotify/Apple Music/etc. integration. premium sound, and artwork customization? This would be a great way to win back consumers to Microsoft.

It's great that Microsoft acknowledge Zune and their iconic branding in 2023.
It's sad that knowing this was coming, Microsoft was too lethargic to bother trying to give the brand a relaunch.

@@Andrew-pv8oz If you want game music, KHinsider’s your best bet with lossless flac or MP3 soundtracks for pretty much every game out there, even the niche stuff.
For most other music, I’d recommend either using a CZcams to MP3 converter to shove CZcams links into if you want it quick and easy, but you could also use DoubleDouble to get lossless or higher quality downloads of pretty much most songs that are on Spotify/SoundCloud etc.
I did not have an official Microsoft video talking about reviving a Zune on my 2023 bingo card, but I am ALL here for it! I just wish they took the time to release an updated official tool to fix the support in Windows 10/11 so it works properly. But nonetheless, I appreciate this greatly and very useful! I still got my Zune 80 and HD, I'll treasure them forever.
Update, shoutout to someone at Microsoft for officially patching the bug allowing Zune sync to work on Windows 11 coming out soon 🙌

MS Zune player on PC is still Microsoft's best Music player on PC. I used it till I updated to windows 10, and started streaming my music from spotify.
I unironically love how Microsoft is supporting decades old technology in support of a major blockbuster film

They are not in any way supporting it. They have also no released any firmware or backdoors to it. These are all Community created resources.
I still have my brown Zune 30, and was excited to see it at the end of GotG2, and of course in GotG3. I have so many memories of using my Zune, and using the Zune media player. It was my daily driver for so many years, even when the Zune HD came out, I never really upgraded. Happy to see Microsoft revisit the Zune, even if it's just for a small GotG3 tie in, and STEM. Very exciting!
It's so NUTS that MS is even acknowledging the Zune! They totally ignored it on it's 15th anniversary after all. (I didn't though!)
I didn't have a Zune, but I did have a WP7 Samsung omnia. I used the Zune software on pc, and it had very cool ui
If Microsoft recognizes that the Zune still exists, why not give it basic support so we dont have to do all this junk to get it to work. I'm not saying the way apple supports the ipod still by building it into MacOS, because the zune wasn't as popular. But just something so it can work on windows 11. Something at all so it's still relatively easily useable.
Same goes for windows phones. They dont talk to Microsoft servers, so you cant sign in, so you can't download apps. There has to be a way to make the things useable, even if not fully supported.

Proud owner of a 2009 80gb Zune. Loved loved loved it...the interface the UI, the haptics, the UX...the look, touch and feel...and the software which was a bomb even on desktop app. I ve never loved any music app so much.
As someone whos been using a zune hd since 2011 daily, im glad to see Microsoft acknowledging this community
I still use the Zune software and media players to this day.
Sharing songs was one of the coolest things about the Zune. Ate up a lot of battery but you could just share songs. Super innovative!
Microsoft, you guys should consider bringing the Zune back. It was underrated and under appreciated. Definitely better than the iPod. I miss mine.
I had a zune 30 and I friggin loved it. I had a ton of music and movies on it and it saved me many overnight work shifts on the boat just sitting there
The Zune HD was so cool. At Newport Harbor high school in 2010 a lot of kids used to surround me asking me what it was. The Oled screen was amazing and the UI was amazing too.
I had a Zune HD for over 10 years and the battery on that thing was the most impressive thing ever. The charge latest weeks and the software was so much better than iTunes lol

I am so happy to find an Official video from Microsoft that convinced me to stop trying to get my Zune to work on my Windows 11 pc and just use of my old computer. I love my Zune HD so much. Thank you, Microsoft, for this video.

I loved my Zune... Microsoft can't be so fast to drop stuff... When we see so many things completely dropped so quick it gives us zero confidence to invest our money into new Microsoft products 😣 Loved my Zune, loved my Windows Phone, loved Cortana, hesitated to buy the Microsoft Band.... It's gunna be an uphill battle to reinstill that confidence 😕 Love all my Surface products too-- herre's hoping they stick with those for awhile longer 😅

The Zune HD was my favorite mp3 player. This thing was with me all through my last year of high school. Man the memories.
Zune was head and shoulders above the iPod. iTunes was unusable compared to Zune. We're all in a better place now, but I do have fond memories of my Zune HD.

Just found my Zune looking through a old bin. It work flawlessly. I'm so surprise Crazy. So many movies Picture and music on it.
I started using my zone again a while back. I can get it to sync music but never movies. Broke out my old windows xp gaming laptop, and everything works perfectly. Love these things.
Microsoft needs to bring back Zune and Windows Phone, with all the Android support they have baked into Windows 11, while still retaining that UI from Windows Phone 8/8.1

I really really really want Microsoft to release a new zune with support for streaming services, and Hi-Fi output. Kinda like fiio.
Nooo no absolutely not, it could decimate fiio and probably deliver less quality device. The death of these devices like the zune and ipod classic, no matter how much we miss it, made way for a true, beautiful and unique dap/dac market. A limited release for the die hard fans would be cool, but if these products were actually brought back, all these other guys could disappear, especially if the ipod classic came back, which fiio based some of its first players on. Personally I enjoy being able to support niche brands, we all should. Microsoft/apple don't deserve more money or control over the media we consume either, emphasis on this last point.

I still have my brown Zune 30 and a red Zune original. Microsoft should have kept Zune Marketplace software as the default Media player on Windows. just take out the Zune stuff, and rename it but keep the other stuff for media playback and metatags. I currently use a music player named Dopamine player to play music on my PC. A Zune enthusiast created it and it looks a lot like Zune Marketplace.

The HTC trophy was my favorite phone.
I had the brown brick and then the Zune HD. My brother gave me the option to either get a Zune or IPod for my birthday before he deployed to Iraq many years back and of course I went with the Zune. He was about the IPod and I just loved the Zune from the day I picked the brick. Awesome memories.
I was in my dads hot tub listening to my zune with my eyes closed for at least an hour, when I wanted to finally switch bands I realized the zune was underwater for who knows how long. I took it out and it never had any problems - best MP3 player in history

You guys should really bring the zune back, maybe to allow only music apps and nothing else so we can use it only for music as it should be. All these other things like the sony Walkman are expensive phone without the call option
That MUI issue sounds like a UAC problem. I'd try running the driver setup from an elevated CMD or PS prompt. Might even try it using psexec to run it under the SYSTEM user context.

It's amazing that the latest version of Apple Music on MAC still recognizes and works perfectly with the 1st generation iPod with FIREWIRE connector, you need some appropriate adapter and can plug directly into the USB port -TypeC on MAC. It's hard to believe but it shows how much APPLE cares about their users.
I love this. I have like 5 gigs of downloaded mp3 files, and my current mp3 player broke. I plan on getting this soon.

Used to own the 120gb Gears of War Edition Zune that my brother gave me before he left for his deployment. Had and carried it for years till a friend dropped it and was broken. Sent it to a Microsoft they said they weren’t able to repair but sent it back with a nice letter and a new 80gb Zune and some swag. Wasn’t until 2014 that I lost it and have missed it ever since. Always check my left pocket for that brick and its forever empty.
I bought a Zune from Circuit City when I was in highschool. You'd have to hit the center button twice to play selected songs. The first button press opened a menu with 'play' as the first option that you'd have to click on to play the song. So whenever I used iPods I'd play songs on accident trying to open the menu.
i still have mine the hd 32 gb and gen 1 32 gb and I'm looking to make my 1 gen the big conversion with remote charge and blue tooth, this was a amazing product
I loved my Zune and used it all teh time with my XB360. I also LOVED my Windows Phone.

I always wanted a zune and Last year I got the chance not to own one, but 2: a zune HD and a zune 8GB. My zune HD has been my dedicated music player and I love it. The 8gb model I dont use it due to the battery beeing dead so to use it, it has to plugged in. But I love the scroll/dpad of the 8gb model... makes me want an 80gb zune
I used to have a Zune HD 32GB model that I used every day for years. I would give anything to have another one in my hands again.
the zune hd is probably my favorite piece of tech, i had my 32g zune hd silver from christmas of launch all the way untill 2019 where it fell out of my hands screen down on a pebble when i was working :'( it had survived every knock and drop untill that. so i went out and bought a used 64g zune hd and im never going to let it die. the dac in that thing is really impressive for a consumer device probably the best for a mp3 device much better than what used to come on smart phones before they took that away. i really wish they would sell a new version of the zune hd with usb c and balanced audio out and ps if you are trying to figure out how to play lossless music on it thinking it cant, it can! just convert your lossless to WMA lossless, i use fre:ac and it works fine. also the xb360 had a feature where you could play your music directly off of the zune while you played i wish they would bring that feature to the xbseries and one.
I LOVED my Zune HD!! I just found it this week. I just ordered another charging cable to see if I can get it working again. I know it still worked a few years back. It was such a well made device.

@Panos -- this is the moment. Retro is IN. This film (Guardians Vol 3) had the most amazing product placement. Sell the updated Zune already. The original 30GB model with upgraded software and add WiFi. Just do it.
I had the orginal zune and own 2 zune HDs. If microsoft can bring this product line back so many us would be so excited.

The Zune and Zune Pass were ahead of their time. The only reason I have Spotify now is because My Zune Pass became an Xbox Music Pass, which then got funneled into Spotify when it shuttered. Would love a Zune that runs Spotify so I can have a dedicated music player.

Wahh😢 I miss my first gen Zune. Fell off a treadmill a couple years ago and died. Lasted nearly 15 years- longest any piece of technology has lasted me with near daily use. The provided USB cable made it the whole way too (longer than the device itself, I suppose lol)

I purchased a Zune after seeing Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2. Luckily I had a computer with Windows 8 and I had no problems installing songs. I have to say, the Zune is a tough mother effer, well made, well designed. I could not afford it when it was brand new but IMO, it was worth every penny at retail.

The software for the Zune also works with phones running Windows Phone 7. Thanks to Microsoft's revival of the Zune, I was able to give my Samsung Focus running Windows Phone 7 a second life by installing custom firmware onto it.
You can't recommend the utility, but you can... Just thank the guys who took the time to work on that utility so people who paid for their zunes and love them can still use them.

Seeing Microsoft celebrating Zune and the grassroots community that has kept it alive is a pleasant surprise. The Zune HD is among the best hardware ever made.

I have the Zune software on my Windows 10 computer, and it works great. I'm about to buy a new Windows 11 computer, and just realized that I may have issues getting the software to work.

I remember listening to the most important albums of my high school years on the original zune, it's crazy to think how we had to decide what music to sync because it usually wouldn't fit everything
