How To Check Microphone Continuity With A Multimeter - In this video I show how microphones can be tested electrically using a multimeter. The video will teach you what setting to use on a multimeter and what is actually being checked. All microphones and all cabling is subject to degrading or breakage especially if the cables are constantly being moved, so this video explains how to test the microphone cabling quickly which will help you decide whether to try to fix it, trash it or buy a new one.

This appears to only test the shield of the microphone which is half of the circuit.. the signal wire is usually buried deeper within and often fails due to fatigue.

I would check the back of the microphone first... to rule that out as open or bad....
