A shuffle at 166 BPM, this is a feature for two tenor saxes---not a duel, but a vehicle to showcase both your tenor players. Sample solos are provided, and the lead trumpet range is to written high C-sharp. Featuring a great sax soli and shout chorus, this is a very musical chart that is great for festivals. (6:26)

That bass line gives me life
as a bassist i can confirm he is indeed correct 😂
Theres no bassline so funky and strange like this one!
Love the tenor face off!!
first second chair tenor solo I've seen
Tenor 2 shouldn’t be thought of as second chair. It’s just tenor part that plays the lower part
I went to the high school this was arranged for and it was so fun to be the first to play it.
yo we’re playing it again this year. what instrument did you play?
I played this song at a concert with my school jazz band a while ago. It's a crazy fun song ^_^ Needless to say my favorite in our set list that day.
Grade 3 my butt
I like the Syeeda's Song Flute quote. This arrangement is definitely neat and creative.
Yeah lol'd at that
Lmao it took me a second to find it again😂
Among other quotes like epistrophy and Friday the 13th. Definitely an amazing arrangement of the piece and a nod to monk.
Great arrangement of a great chart! Nice work Mr. Kamuf!
JoshSiv Taylor lol I see u Josh
14 get's me every time, that groove!
Love the half time shuffle!
One of the bass lines and solo songs I’ve ever played!
the ghost note shuffle is pretty insane, are you sure thats for a a medium junior jazz band?
jackson powell it's like low level music with an insane beat lol
MrMachine15 why is this comment on every single jazz Alfred chart?
the perdy shuffle is one of the easiest beats i have learned. i am a freshman in HS
A Levisee You mean the Purdie shuffle.
@@tylerjones7806 yeah lol
(words hurt)
I love this so much. It just has such a groove to it
I love this song as a soloist that switches to bari sax for that low A part, I get to enjoy the parts I love most about the entire song.
I love this arrangement
0:22 This section could benefit from giving the pianist a Rhodes electric piano for comping, and a synth bass keyboard for the unison sections with the actual bass/bassist. This can also work for Mike's take on Such Sweet Thunder.
Wish i could play this arrangement
love it
+ryon williams Glad to hear!
Thanks Ryon!
Np
I played this for my senior jazz on the alto and counting for this piece was pretty difficult since I had long rests pretty frequently 😅😅
Remembering how it sounds when you come in helps so you don’t have to sit there counting. Just remember the part right before as a little reminder where you are.
2:17 that fucking bari
dooby I know him and he's a cool frickin dude
hey don't forget about bass trombone
love this
love this so much
What a great arrangement! Well done

hehehe nice
I would love to hear this live, with as much ugh whatever this feeling is that they're playing with that makes me want to cringe and punch the nearest thing that is appropriate.
That’s called funk.

Hello, I got a problem, The dynamic contrast and volume contrast are two different things and the volume contrast isn't actually different. Probably due to it being done by an AI of some sorts. Best to get a live recording of this.
