What I am confused with though, is how marching does anything for traditional culture, traditions and heritage? How do we even define these things considering we have different traditions and heritage in different parts of the nation? Surely partaking in culture and traditions would make more sense in terms of preserving it, for those who think it's somehow under threat. Otherwise, it's arguably just some blokes marching with jingoistic flag waving and football chats. However, I'm sure they'll be some women that are allowed to join in, but don't expect any lookers!

I’ll be celebrating St George’s day with by performing a selection of English music - folk songs and dance tunes, Purcell, Campion, Noel Gay etc - which I think qualifies as doing something for the culture, traditions and heritage of England. I don’t see a problem with the march taking place, as well as all the other things people like myself will be doing. They’re not contradictory or mutually exclusive activities, and marches for various reasons have been a traditional part of English culture (as of other cultures) for centuries. If it encourages people not to be reticent about Englishness it’s all for the good.
