    Everyone keeps asking why Michael holds up a different number of fingers from what he's saying, and he's being coy about it and not explaining...so I will. This is a very common technique used in NLP hypnosis, a "confusion" technique. There are different ways of creating confusion, but the goal is to get the conscious mind so off balance that it will just step aside and let the unconscious mind (which is much more accepting of suggestions and of anomalous data) take over. And when that happens...you're in trance. You can see the same principle at work when a hypnotist puts out his hand to "shake", then yanks the subject off balance and catches them as they fall into a trance. It's the being off balance unexpectedly that does it. As you stumble forward, your conscious mind is confused; it was expecting a handshake and now you're stumbling instead. It steps aside for a moment. In that moment, the hypnotist commands, "SLEEP!" and your unconscious mind responds.

What got you into NLP? Am I doing it correctly? Am I beginning to feel trance like - or just trying to go along with it? Etc, etc, etc. Pity, as I'm actually quite fascinated by hypnosis.

    Hey there Michael,
    I have used this video a couple of times to calm myself down and it worked great!
    But now, the 6th or so time when following this video, I start to feel very uneasy, nervous and fidgety. I try to suppress the feeling it but it's still there and it causes me to get out of trance early. Any idea why this might happen or how to stop it?

    • @proprgent
      @proprgent Před 2 lety

      I'm no expert, but one thing that might help is to allow the feeling to run it's course or to merely feel the feeling, as opposed to suppressing it. This can help during meditation too. Could be useful

      @@proprgent, I would suggest, take some time with the Wave of Relaxation technique also on this channel, and then go for both processes on your own, (without the videos) which is the intention, self application of self hypnosis. Enjoy! Michael Carroll

    This is not bretty erickson technque. This is a method of hathyog which originated from long old Indian yoga system. Kindly don't degrade your consciousness and proclaim a method as your. And those who wish to go futher into it, the method is called TRATAKA and there are submethods in that.

    Betty Erickson "a master hypnosis in her own right". You mean Hypnotist. You don't seem mindful of your wording. If you are going to Teach your audience then why aren't you telling them WHY you were putting up different amount of fingers that were not congruent with your words. That would be a sign of a good teacher. I understand scrambling the brain w/NLP & Hypnosis but if you are going to teach - give the reasons why you do things.

      So if you do something for free it's ok to do an incomplete job or intentionally do weird shit without explination. That's your logic?
      And you back it up with the law 😂
      I bet you even took the covid vaccine with this garbage ass mindless malleable weak ass reasoning.
      Excuse my shitty approach btw I don't mean to attack you personally, this is just how I feel about your display of reasoning.
      I do think law is sometime retarded and most of the time is set to keep you in place instead of promoting what's best for you, like restricting research of psychedelics. (Not sure if that's still a thing but it's a good example regardless)
