  • My window on the passenger side of Ol' Green was worn to the point it wouldn't go up and down without help. In this video, I show how to replace the window regulator mechanism.
Here is a link to the part I used to fix mine. amzn.to/2DHWbNv

I've done this on similar vehicles in the past, and never once had as easy of a time doing it as you do in this video, lol. I learned some of the best cuss words in my vocabulary changing these out. The "modern" ones with the plastic tracks that get brittle and break are slightly easier, but these days I'd be willing to just take it to a mechanic. For those who want to give it a try, just remember to not lose any hardware before you end up taking it to the shop.

Yeah I've changed the one in the Buick, which is power Windows but was a real pain to get to. This one wasn't bad at all.

Followed this video to replace my drivers side window regulator crank thingy and it went smoother than i was expecting. Other than 52 year old screws and glass, everything did exactly as you said. Thanks for this!

Man this video was extremely helpful. I'd replaced the vent window previously which is half the headache in this job, but I would've been hard pressed to figure out the window rail channels without your video. Wish I'd seen this video prior to my previous vent window install, would've saved me a couple hours, lots of profanity and one felt strip LOL. Many thanks!

Mr Fugate. My older brother rebuilt the old Ferguson tractor that had a blown engine and been set aside for years when he was 14. To pay him for the work Dad bought him the 69 Camaro that was rotting in a flood plan that he wanted. When he turned 16 he had the baddest SS in school to say the least. My wife's grandfather, way before we were married, amazed me one day when he noticed my breaks on my 4wheeler were not working. He took off the pads then shaped, attached the new pad to the old metal back plate and had me on my way in no time. Once a friend bent the back axle of his 87 250r, bent might not even be the word. With a piece of railroad, some log chains ,some jacks and some time grandpa had him home before dark. Poor people have poor ways he would say. I call them Appalachian engineers. Point is I have been fortunate to have had some amazing teachers in my lifetime. You should be proud to know I consider you one

They sound like amazing people. I'm honored to be compared to them.
I always called stuff like that hillbilly engineering, because I have seen some amazing things done by the people living in these hills. I know there is a bad stereotype about us hillbillies, but I'm still proud to be one.

I enjoyed watching and found the bed-side tool box interesting. Scribed and liked. Maybe it’s just me after decades of earning my pay check from opening my tools boxes, I use anti-seize on bolts & screws, it helps the next time fending off rust, if that’s possible. But, may grease would help your wheels of plastic last longer smeared into the tracks. This truck must of carried a passenger frequently to wear the regular in the center area. Strange, but with no A/C on most, the drive could roll the window down for extra air. The wing window works better above 30 MPH. Lol. Thanks for the time, work, equipment used to make the video. You can lock onto those fathead screws with 6 inch vice grips with good teeth in the jaws and get the screw to turn a little, then its easy with a screwdriver.

The window regulator handle is the same as i had on my '67 Biscayne. Unfortunately, i haven't owned that Biscayne since the fall of '72 when i replaced it with a still on the lot '72 Townsman which i got cheap and loaded. Made my Biscayne seem a very abusive vehicle ::)
