Pulling Ol' Greens transmission
After looking on amazon for a while, I found a rebuild kit for Ol' Greens transmission. It is a bearing and seal kit which doesn't include any gears. I pulled out the transmission and inspected it to see if the gears are still good enough.

Ol' Green, Back on the Road?

Here is a link to the video I made several years ago detailing what all I did to Ol' Green. czcams.com/video/d5TNt_oy7kw/video.html I have had several questions about Ol' Green lately. I wanted to make a video telling why I haven't been driving her or making any videos on her. Can I fix the Dodges charging system

Steering gear on the trike

I got a rack and pinion steering gear installed in the trike, which should be much better than the four-wheeler steering that was on it before. I did put some new valve stems in as well, and got the tires to hold air, that part didn't record because I got a text message while the video was recording and it cut off the video without recording it. At least it was a little bit of progress.

I got the problem fixed! It was a wire in the harness to the O2 sensor. Two wires were touching just enough to cause the fuel mixture to go extremely lean. It was not supplying enough fuel to keep the engine idling. I appreciate the suggestions from everyone, It did end up helping.

    On my "2014 Chevy equinox 2.4....260,000 miles" Ive done the PCV valve clean out tip with drilling into the intake manifold. I also cleaned off a bunch of metal shavings and gunk off of the vvt solenoids. It has helped tremendously with the vehicle going into limp mode. I'm thinking about doing this trick with the oil cap but I wanna ask you if it affects the brakes since your splicing into the booster?

    My man not only had to become a mechanic in order to own a 2.4 but also had to become an engineer and inventor. Kinda makes you wonder why smart people like this buy these turds in the first place. I wonder this about myself. But my 2017 terrain will be paid off soon( owe $2,500) at 90k miles and burns 1.5 qts in between 4,000 mi oil changes . It will be sold/traded in for what ever I can get and I’m washing my hands with GM. And even American made vehicles from now on. The quality is trash. Sadly enough, if a man wants a reliable vehicle now days he’s gotta buy a foreign.

    • @lukeFugate
      @lukeFugate Před 16 hodinami

      Well in this case, I didn't buy it. It was inherited. It's sad to see that in 2017 they still hadn't fixed the issue. I probably would never buy anything this new, just not my style. After seeing how much stuff there is to go wrong in newer cars, screens, and buttons everywhere, even on the steering wheel. The computer controls everything, including all the lights and plastic covering the entire engine compartment. I looked at my brother-in-law's 2020 Camry, it's the same way all bells and whistles and fancy stuff that will break and just become a nuisance. I'll stick to my older stuff with actual style and easy to work on. My wife loves it though so I guess I gotta keep it on the road. That being said after doing these mods I have to admit it doesn't use any oil between changes now, and starts up every time without fail. It is still a slow and badly balanced car though.

    GM makes a vented oil cap. And I guess I don't understand you're trying to relieve the pressure from the crankcase and you're hosing it back into the crankcase😂

    • @lukeFugate
      @lukeFugate Před 16 hodinami

      The vented oil cap does help, but doesn't resolve the issue. In this case I am relieving the crankcase pressure by using engine vacuum. It is not hosing into the crankcase. It is going into the brake booster line which is hooked to the intake manifold. That is how all car engines have been since 1961. GM decided they would reinvent a system which has worked great for 63 years and failed horribly. In this case it works great. I don't add any oil between changes now. I still do the Seafoam cleaning every oil change as well just to keep the rings free.

      @lukeFugate Před 16 hodinami

      Yeah, they should have a gauge. Can't understand why they don't. Or like you said at least a light. In my case, I am used to checking oil every time I get gas, just a habit as it just takes a few seconds to check. With the mods I have done to this it doesn't use enough oil between changes to add any. I am going to add a gauge soon. I'll make a video of it when I do.

Im in IN and found your video crucially important, brother, so thank you. I pray you are doing well, I know what it's like to have health problems. • @lukeFugate
      @lukeFugate Před 6 dny

      I can't remember a part number or anything for the pcv. It was one that was on the endcap at Autozone. I just looked at them until I found one that looked like it would fit the cap and the hose. The hose was either 11/32 or half inch. I think you could make either work. You also need a T of the same size to split the brake booster hose. It is still holding up well, and I don't have to add any oil between changes. I think the Seafoam cleaning helps free up the rings to help stop the blowby.

    14:23 I don't think it's due to TPMS measurement error. Your tire pressure pump is monitoring the upstream pressure. It will get to 36 PSI, while the downstream pressure will be 35psi just because of the pressure drop caused from line length and airflow. If you can set pressures, add 1psi to account for the drop.
