- Teremana Tequila is owned by Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, and it has exploded in popularity ever since it launched. Teremana and the ROck have been trying to capitalize on the popularity of Tequila to sell their brand. Teremana most likely has additives and it is not worth the hype. In this Video I will show you the 3 best tequila brands you should be drinking instead.
Tequila is one of the most popular spirits out there and so many brands are capitalizing on it. So many brands are trying to capitalize on the Market that Casamigos created, the Accessible Celebrity tequila brand. These brands are considered really good because of who is associated with the product, a staple of club life and rappers and celebrities are always promoting it.
The only thing Teremana has going for it is its price point. Its relatively accessible. But the Three brands I cover in this video are all are all well worth your money way more.
Tequila Arette is created by the Orendain family and it is a perfect budget option that is way better than Teremana. Olmeca Altos is a bright and delicious brand of tequila that wont break the bank. Cimarron is an amazing budget tequila that is made at one of the best tequila distilleries on the planet.

I wish you all the best but I’ve also noticed a correlation between the success of your channel and the scarcity of my favorite tequilas on store shelves. It’s great that more people are starting to care about good tequila but I also miss just walking into the store and grabbing a bottle of Fortaleza whenever I wanted.

I truthfully love the Blanco Teremana but I agree that the reposado and anejo aren’t good. That said, I haven’t tried many other brands, so I’m very excited to try these ones out. Thanks for the video!
I truly believe Teremana tastes great. I have a very developed palate and I know that many people that are passionate about tequila wrote off Teremana before they tried it because of a celebrity owning it. Which is pretty unacceptable in my book.
The fact of the matter is this tequila shines in cocktails. We carried it for a couple of years before my boss said “it’s way too popular, they’re making way too much, corners are about to start getting cut.”
I have blind tasted this with several additive free brands that you love, and it held up.
The notion of “we have to hate celebrity liquors” should stop.
Another fact of the matter is that in 2020 when this was released, teremana was DOPE.
Also, just put it to the “shitty” test. Drink a bottle when hydrated and tell me how you feel in the morning.
Now this will really tell you if it’s shit liquor.
You’re quite knowledgeable and I love your content except for the “stop drinking this” content.
And for the record all of the tequilas you love, I do also.

Hey man firstly thanks for taking the time to write such an indepth comment. I appreciate that.
Now i can appreciate your passion here, but i have to fundamentally disagree with you when you say "The hate for celebrity tequilas has to stop". I've done an entire full length video on a ton of the problems that are caused by celebrity tequilas. & Teremana is central to a lot of the issues of celebrity spirits and they are truly just capitalizing on one man's fame and fortune to churn out mediocre to bad products. If you enjoy it that's cool! No problems. Everyone can enjoy what they'd like.
I have also tasted teremana side by side, and blindly with other brands i prefer and i don't believe it holds up. Again everyone can enjoy what they'd like. It's cool to have different opinions from people.
I post a ton of content and while the "don't drink this drink these" series may not be everyone's cup of tea as some find it "Abrasive". This is CZcams. If the concept of the video doesn't grab peoples attention immediately, the video flops. It's just a matter of how the platform works.
It's a context that makes people want to watch rather than a video called "Drink these tequilas". I genuinely believe the tequilas I've done in this series are quite inferior to all of the ones I then go on to list.
As for tequila ocho, i actually haven't ordered any in a while but i currently only have the Blanco in stock at my bar.
You are right, Teramana is a good product. Watch some mexican tequila youtubers, that people really know about tequila, and they agree that Teramana is a fairly good product. This guy doesnt even talk about the product, just brings some usless information and comparisons to other actors products. This guy is a clown, and thinks that showing some good tequilas in the video will make him look as a tequila connoscieur. Such an ass.
I’m Mexican and I think it’s freaking awesome lol. My go to for sure. I love the silver. Repo is great too. The Añejo I did not like one bit. But I think we all just have unique palates. If something is truly bad, I think we can all agree. If something is good to some and bad to some. I think it’s simply your palate. But for your price and taste, IN MY OPINION, it’s a steal.
I do think watching reviews can sometimes hinder you from giving it a chance. Reviews are great but go in with an ion mind!

I love tequila ocho. I wish I could find it that cheap. I’ve found it in the Nashville and Atlanta areas for $70-$80 range

At this point, if it is promoted by a celebrity or they are involved financially in ANY way, avoid at all costs. BTW, THANK YOU so much for the amazing recommendations! Have got G4 Blanco, Tequila Ocho Plata and El Tesoro Rep and have LOVED them all especially the G4!

Hey Lui, new sub here, generally curious about Tequila and recently started trrying them. Coming from a Scotch/Bourbon background. Started out with Cazadores(Anejo) and 1800(Anejo), I did try teremana(Anejo) as well, I found the 1800 is quite nice out of the 3, Made some notes about your Additive free ones, really want to grab an el Tequileno soon.

Not claiming connoisseurship of the subject matter, but i love tequila. my favorite is mijenta, but tremana is in with three or four, in the next tier. I, genuinely, had no idea the rock was involved with it, untill i just accidentally searched the tequila ive been drinking, while intending to check out what the channel terramatter has done recently. That may not even be the right name actually. Either way, it's spicy, but i dig terramana, especially in some random mixes, and finding out the rock is in some way involved gets nothing but a chuckle, at yet another celebrity "backed" drink. Only one I've ever wanted to try is aykroyds crystal skull, cuz it was my favorite episode of Arthur c clarke, and i want the bottle. I actually heard it ain't great, but its vodka, im not going to hate it
I really do wish I could get arette tequila here in PA for now I think I'm going to stick to Esplon or a new one I had found called corraleo it's pretty smooth gold with multiple I drink and not too expensive unless someone else can recommend something between fifteen and thirty bucks which isn't too bad here in the state

If I was a celebrity I would try to promote a traditionally made family tequila. Now that I’ve tried a couple properly made tequila’s I can’t imagine drinking young agave drinks full of additives. The downside is that good bottles are hard to find near me.

Old town. I’m in Chicago and some of the prices are cheaper and other tequila are pricey.
Man a lot of it has to do with how liquor is distributed. Different states have different prices unfortunately. Some states are controlled by an alcohol board, some just don't have good products. Some stores just price things super expensive. I buy my stuff from local stores, total wine, my distributors. I have filmed myself many times in stores showing people the prices you can get things

@@vidademikey9790🤣 dude I don’t know what to say but that is the best way I could describe it. I actually wound up finding that it worked pretty well when making Palomas. I don’t know if it was the additional citrus flavors from the grapefruit juice that helped with it or what.
I’ve since moved on using Tres Agaves for my cheap house tequila. I think that’s pretty solid.
In the Philippines, Teramana costs around $180 to $200+. And Tequila Ocho costs a lot less, what a ripoff. Can't really enjoy the limited tequila and mezcal options here.

I defy you to do a blind taste test with a neutral moderator and come to the 'rancid' conclusion you did in another video. Teremana has been the tequila of choice for my wife and I for years. I had my wife blind taste test of Teremana blanco and Tequila Ocho, and while she thought Ocho was stronger, she liked them both. Based on the comments I'm glad to see I'm not the only one questioning you.
I admit maybe I've been leaning on Teremana for too long and its time for me to try a few other brands, and as such I appreciate your suggestions. Still, like so many wine somalias busted as frauds, I'd love to see you line up Teremana, 818, and your pick of a low, medium, and high end tequilas and see if you can identify them.

You are misleading people, yes the brands that you recomend are very good, but Teramana blanco is not crap, is actually very good, it can be compared to 7 Leguas. So leave the tequila critics to people who really knows about it. I have been tasting tequila since you were in kindergraden. To your followers I recommend to have a blind tasting with Teramana and the brands this clown is showing you, and some crappy tequila like Sauza basic products, you will tell the difference and see that Teramana is a very good tequila.
