Sir, you are a gentleman and a scholar. There is a long list of things I have used ratchet straps for including a spring compressor for raising my jeep and for traction in the snow like tire chains. Never thought to seat a tire.
this was the way i needed to get my tire to seat. thanks, this step is glossed over by a lot of videos but I found it to be the most difficult part. The ratchet strap really made it easy. It didn't work at first so i ratcheted a little tighter and it finally started to fill.
Thank you! You're a lifesaver. Tried pressing, banging on my scooter tire for almost an hour but couldn't get it to seat. Your solution worked in two minutes of trying.
Such an amazing technique to share. After having a pain of a time removing and putting on my first tire, this video came in clutch when i began to get super frustrated it wouldnt seat right 😅
Your a legend, this tricked worked amazing on my little e scooter with tubeless tires, didn't have a tension strap so used 3 plastic cable ties, been having nightmares after managing to fit the new tyre and having no luck getting the bead in correctly. Absolutely saved me 🙏 🙌 👍, thank you so much my brother.
I have a WR250 that I am constantly getting flats with... I am absolutely over tubes and found someone that fills the spokes with silicone, tapes the wheel and then runs the tires tubeless. The strap I've tried before but maybe not tight enough. Thanks for the tip!
About to do this right now...I keep you updated. This seems to be genius Update: it did not work for me. But, it’s an older tire. So it could have just been my situation Repudiate: it worked!
You son-of-a-b****. I'm over here struggling with the tire looking for any magical solution and I read your comment. Thanks for coming back in restoring my faith in life, I was getting near the edge LOL Been trying to get the damn thing to sit right for three days
I use slime squeeze just a little roll the tire a couple of times till the slime gets all around then pump the tire works every time. But I will try this technique the next time I change tires
I have tried this, fire, no dice. When I tighten the ratchet, it actually pulls the bead FURTHER inward than without. Cannot for the life of me get this tire seated. It is a worn motorcycle tire going onto a Ford 2N wheel, both the same size. Anyone got other ideas?
didnt work for me my tyre is so folded in i tryed stretching it out wide for a day before trying this and still wont work the wrachet strap just dents the ribber and doesnt really work at all its a sport bike front wheel
I have definitely used the ratchet strap method before! But hey, wanted some car shopping advice. My 99 ML430 is getting way too high up there in miles for me to feel good about towing with it anymore, although I still drive the truck once a week to keep it on the road and honestly have no issues with it. Anyways, thinking about moving up to a GL, possibly the Bluetec, thoughts? Then throw mud tires on the ML and keep it as a stunt vehicle, right? Haha
I have a few friends at work with GLs and they have had too many issues than I would prefer. If you only need at most 5200lbs towing I would go with the 4cyl GLK250 diesel . Vastly better reliability than the GL
@@fupabox hmmmm actually after looking into it more, for the same money I could get a w166 ML350 diesel, what would you think about that? I probably wont ever pull the rated 7200lbs with that even, but it's nice to have some head room rather than push something to its limit
Did you figure it out? I’m having that problem right now. I let all the air back out and loosened the entire bead on the offending side and I’m just going to let it relax over night and try again tomorrow. Might try the strap though to see if it evens out the bead.
@@fupabox 1st gen comstars aren't tubeless. People run them without tubes, but that's not how they're designed. They're flat on the inside where a tubeless rim has a bead.

what a beautiful tip. Work all the ways for me. Front tire of my Kawasaki Vulcan 1700 2014. Bridgestone Exedra G703. Thanks for this lifesaver
Glad it helped 👍
Burned off my eye lashes using starting fluid to explode tire on. Fluid worked great last five times though
Great video. Thanks. Will try strap
🤣

Thank you!! Worked perfect the first try.
You literally just saved me a hundred something dollars just now.
Thank you so much!
🙏👍
Daaaaaang, what a good tip! Thanks, I'm heading back into the garage to try it.
Same here.
Great tip! I actually forgot that i did this last time. Had to do it again. Cheers
thanx legend you saved me pulled the pee wee out for christmas and tyre was flat

Great tip Thankyou.
Thanks soooo much for the help
Did the trick 👍 and I didn't light my bike on fire trying the other cool way I saw in videos 😅
lol..
excellent - thank you! Had a really stubborn scooter tire ant this did the trick just fine.
hey friend what inch strap do you recommend
Thank you!
Tried this now for 2h straight and still got no air on my new tire. Frustration found a new level. Never had such issues before with a tire.

Tried this and can't get the bead to seat.
This is the way.
And when the strap doesn’t work?
tire bead sealer along the inner edge of the rim can help difficult tires to hold enough air to pop the bead onto the rim
Starter fluid and a lighter

What if it holds air but won’t pop.

Tried this on a 16in. Didn't work for me
Nice. Thought u were going to use lighter fluid.
Next time ..lol
What do you do when that doesn't work? 🤣🤣🤣
Ether in a can boom I need a can today
My tire won’t seat after trying this I give up lol
The bead didn't pop because that's not a tubeless rim.
its a first gen honda comstar ..made to be used tubed or tubeless . it seated after a few tries
