Today we will show you a super easy tip trick to inflate a tubeless tire that won't seal at the rim. This is a safe and effective way to inflate tubeless tires. *Take caution when when you release the ratchet strap. Do not inflate entirely while the ratchet strap is around the tire.*
This should work for most tubeless tires. Our tire was from a snowblower but it should work for lawnmower tires or other tubeless tires. In retrospect this seems so obvious I feel kind of stupid for not thinking of it myself but kudos to you for posting this video. 2 minutes flat from frustratiom to Google to problem solved and mission accomplished.
Actually, I didn't even watch the video. I just saw the thumbnail with the ratchet strap sitting there and was like DUH.
Well maybe we need to change the thumbnail to draw people in...JK. Glad you figured it out!
Thanks - fortunately unlike the last poster, I strugged only for about 5 minutes before deciding youtube was the place to come. Worked a treat.
You are the Man.
Thanks for the nice comment! I hope it helped!
Al, you're a godsend. Just replaced my tire on my escooter and fought so hard to get it to seal. Thanks for this!

Trying to put tires on mine. Did you have Schrader valve in or out while inflating?
Thank you so much! I couldn't get air in my car's tubeless spare tire and didn't have straps like yours, but was able to push it up against a wall with my foot and pump it up thanks to this method of yours!
Awesome! Glad you were able to figure something out! Thanks for the comment!

Thanks! That worked. I had to keep the valves in the stems for it to work on the tires I had.
The tire on my hand cart was flat and this was exactly what I needed to do to be able to inflate it. Thanks for making the video!

This works great! I had to watch it again b/c I had the tie down strap backwards. Pay attention to how he has the strap setup or it won't work. the flat side goes on top of the tire. so you can pump the ratchet on top of it. Thanks for a very good tutorial! And certainly much safer than the ether explosion method. lol

Never done this before. Watched this video and it worked for me, third time trying adjusting the rim a bit each time and I also used a layer a vaseline to make a seal. Great video- thanks for helping 👍🏼

@@BigAl-1 it worked! Can’t post a pic. But I got a free little trailer with a flat tire. Couldn’t get it to seal. Used this trick and Presto! I used it for like 4 hours this weekend doing yard work.

Thank you sir, that proved to be very useful as I received a tire that had been deformed in transport and it didn't want to seal. Got it mounted in no time with this technique! :)

Wow, I have a convertible dolly/cart that my office manager/legal assistant used to transport things just to show the young folks that somebody in their 60s and 70s could still cart and lug in entire boxes of paper. I lost her in 2020 when she died in a freak accident, but ever since I've kept that dolly in my garage, wondering why I couldn't get one tire aired up. If this works, I'm thanking Big Al in advance.
exactly the problem im having with 3 scooter tires. im gonna try this. man I hope this works great idea sir.
and....it worked. thank you. this helped my frustration out tremendously
and its still holding air
Just what I needed to hear. Thanks. That was easy.

@@BigAlRepairs The wheelbarrow had a new tire, but I couldn't use it. Now I can get some dirt moving done.

This worked. Thanks!
Great! Thanks for the nice comment
@@BigAlRepairs Held for a while, but has since deflated. Be worth removing to see if there's a hole or puncture somewhere on the tire. Rats!
Awesome, so easy, I watched the 1st 13 seconds, saw the syncher strap, or whatever it's called, and it made complete sense. Went out and got mine done fast. I'd probably never have thought of that, and figured I needed a new tire. Thanks! :-)
Thanks so much for your comment. Best of luck with your next DIY project. Thanks again and hopefully you subscribe to Big Al Repairs.
Same boat as this guy! Mine was a lawn mower but as soon as I saw the strap, it made complete sense and took less than 3 minutes to inflate it
Absolutely brilliant idea. It works like a charm 👍 You just saved me $75 from buying new tires.
Thanks so much for the help

Here goes, wheelbarrow tire, can I leave it attached to the wheelbarrow?
That is a great question. You should be able to leave the tire on the wheelbarrow as long as you can wrap the tie down around the tire. Best of luck with your project and please let us know how it turns out.
Very helpful. Thanks!

What do you do when the tire won't stay inflated?
I how you feel because I have the same problem with the bike tire. I can inflate it but then it doesn’t stay. If you find out, please let me know. I will have to do some research too. Thanks again for your comment and hopefully you subscribe to Big Al Repairs.
Oh my gosh; this worked like a charm! The wheelbarrow tire wouldn't hold air. Watched videos on how to remove the tire & inner tube. When I got the tire off the wheelbarrow and pressed down on the tire, I could see that there was no inner tube. So back to youtube to try and figure out how to put air in this tire. Your video came up and I tried your method and it worked! I'm beyond excited because I thought I was going to have to go buy a new tire. You're the best!!
That is great news! Thanks for watching and for the nice comment! Good luck with your future DIY projects, hopefully you are doing some fun work with your wheelbarrow :)
Thanks that solved my problem! Would just recommend wearing gloves when releasing the tie down
Good suggestion! Thanks for the nice comment. Good luck on future projects!
Will this work on a bike tire? Tubeless as well
I have not tried it, but I don’t see why it would not work. Please let us know if it works. Thanks so much for your question. Best of luck with your next DIY project and hopefully you’ll subscribe to Big Al Repairs.
What do you do if the tire does not seal using a ratchet strap?
Great question. If it does no work my guess is that there is a possible leak in the tire. Best of luck.
Can’t figure out why this kind of tire is used on a wheelbarrow or dolly?
The older I get the less inclined I am to say "Let's just go buy another wheel". Such a simple solution and one that I would never have considered. Worked great. The only problem is that the only tie downs I have are super long and heavy duty. Let's just go out and buy some lighter ones.
@ScottThanks so much for your comment and best of luck with your next DIY project.
Does not always work. I have tried
I’m so sorry it doesn’t work. That is too bad. It worked out really well for me. Best of luck with your next DIY project and hopefully you subscribe to Big Al Repairs.
it’s in the teens outside and my tire just collapses in one place when i put the strap on. any other brilliant ideas?
That is a great question. Is there anyway you can bring your tire inside and get it warmed up? Then you can take it out and apply the strap and get it pumped up. Please let us know how you finally were able to fix the tire.
@@BigAl-1 that’s exactly what i did. i brought them all in and did it the next day. they went on just fine then.
i used the ‘ol aerosol and a torch method of getting them to seat.
@@johnmarkhatfield Thanks so much for the update. I’m glad things worked out well. Have a great day.
Tried it...doesn't seal it at all
Dude, you totally faked that scenario. I understand that this process works but your first hit with the air, tyhe tire was definetly holding air. SMH Just trying to make content...
I don't make repair videos on things I have not done in real life. This was a real life project I completed in my backyard. I do this all the time with my snow blower, tiller, lawn mower, etc. I may fix something and then think " I should film this to show others" so I sometimes film after the fact but show how to do it. What is wrong with that? I may earn .01 cents from this video in 2 years. I am just trying to help people with real life projects.
Yes. He's trying to make content because he's showing people what to do IN CASE. This is not a fix for a flat tire. This is for a tire that isn't sealing because it's off the bead. Do you want him to just sit around and wait and only make this video IF he has the exact problem???? You can tell by the amount of likes and replies saying it worked that clearly the tip works.
Thank you!
Thank you for the nice comment! Good luck with future projects!
