Agree 100%! That style in particular will look beautiful as it ages.. a leather conditioner for small scuffs can help on the soft leather.
I'm gonna have really high heeled shoes when I'm old,and use a wheel chair. Then I can sit and just look fab 😂

For me the worst have been louboutin shoes ( high heel) , so so so uncomfortable !

I actually purchased a pair of Louboutins in Vegas from my winnings with about a 3 inch heel and they are extremely comfortable. I think when you get in to sky high heels, your foot is not suppose to bend at than angle and makes any shoe uncomfortable.
My best designer purchase was a total lucky fluke. I found a gorgeous pair of maroon velvet Sergio Rossi heels at a discount store, marked down to $199 (from $399) and then an additional 30% off. But I was about to go on vacation and wanted to save the money, and they weren't practical shoes lol. A couple months later I went back and they were still there but now marked 80% off, so they were only $40 and I had a reward voucher, so I got them for about $21! I've worn them once but I don't care because I got such a great deal and they're works of art. :)

Fleur, regarding the Lanvin ballet shoes... Fold the top part of the back of the shoe over itself. It helps to stretch the top part of the back of the shoe. I do this with all of my Lanvins as I had the same problem as you have. It really helps!!

Drunk in Vegas last year, I went into the Ted Baker store. Did DAMAGE to my bank account. Now, a year later, I have those items for sale on my Poshmark closet. FAIL.... But, I learned a lesson: no shopping while drunk. Haha
Completely agree with the re-sale value of Chanel, I sold a pair of Chanel sunglasses once for £30 more than I bought them for after owning (and wearing) them for four years!

Best designer purchases over the years (keep in mind I'm 36 and have been working for years):
Chanel classic flaps in black caviar and beige lambskin. I bought them so long ago that I don't think I'd be able to afford them now!
Mulberry Bayswater in black and oak (brown) that I use most days for work.
Balenciaga Work in both Black and Tan - I bought them both in 2005 and 11 years on they're still looking great and get worn all weekend and I also still use them for work.
Charlotte Olympia 'Octavia' heels purchased for my wedding. Ridiculously expensive for something that goes on your feet ($1500) but the were perfect, so comfortable and I love them!
Worst purchase: Gucci patent orange/red wooden platform heels. A trendy purchase that only got worn twice. Thankfully they were on sale and I've since managed to sell them.
Similarly, I tend to invest in accessories (I'll have for years) and wear high street clothing - Zara, JCrew, Whistles, Topshop.
The only luxury purchase I ever made was a Burberry winter coat. It was $700. I have worn it pretty much every other day in the wintertime for 7 years, and I love it every time I put it on. It is just starting to fray now at the cuffs, but still looks good. It was totally worth it.
It doesn't technically count as an investment if you're not going to sell it at some point in the future.
Although I see basically only the neck and shoulders.... That blouse/dress🐣 looks GORGEOUS on Fleur

As an alternative to the Self Portrait dresses that are still relatively in the same price range; Needle and Thread make beautiful dresses.

The price of Chanel bags certainly don't match the quality (or anymore, at least).
Same lol but then again, who knows what will happen in the future? I'm currently 22 years old, haven't decided what my career will be yet (I wanted to become a professional dancer, but my mom couldn't afford to pay for competitions and classes and stuff - single parent) and ideas just slowly came to me lately, I want to get my hands on makeup industry, writing and something to do with animals. And maybe some day, I could afford at least ONE designer bag or shoes or something... like a little treat for myself, after everything I've been though (who hasn't though). But even if I can't - who cares, it won't be the end of the world. Eating healthy and good meals mean so much more to me than some designer bags, anyway :)
The first ever designer bag I first recognised when I was about 13 was Louis Vuitton, and I had ALWAYS wanted a speedy. After buying copies in Turkey etc and them never lasting but me still being madly in love with the style almost 10 years later, I saved up and decided to buy my first ever proper designer bag! I keep it in it's dust bag full of bubblewrap and haven't regretted it one bit! Absolutely love it! x

You should use saddle soap on your leather! Gets most scratches marks and dirt out of all leather! Brilliant stuff xxx
Uncomfortable shoes are totally pointless. Never buy them.
At least many of the more classic designer pieces retain their value very well, so even if you end up hating it you can still sell it for a great price!

just a small tip. with elasticated flats always go a size up. so it is not snug. it is easy to put it on and off

I've been in love with the Rockstud heels ever since they came out. My husband even loved them when he happened to walk by when I was looking at them on the computer. He changed his mind though when I told him the price. lol. I did those, a little while back come across a pair from BCBG that were inspired from them. And they were actually on clearance when I found them, so I was more than excited. I do have told say that I honestly didn't expect them to be very comfortable, but they're amazing! And I get compliments every time I wear them.

My best luxury buy is most definitely my Givenchy Nightingale. I got it in the medium with goatskin leather and it is amazing. It can be a bit of a black hole, but the size is so good and the leather is so soft yet incredibly durable. I never use the shoulder strap, but it's actually quite comfortable in the crook of your arm so I don't mind that at all. I'm also so glad that I bought it before they redesigned them because the love the stitching down the front and back. So in love!

Oh god, I saved up for a pair of Jimmy Choos for MONTHS and have literally worn them twice because they are the HARDEST THINGS to walk in. I feel like I'm wearing pointe shoes every time. And it makes me so sad because 700 dollars is a lot for shoes that I could have gotten a more comfortable pair.

Chloe was my first real designer bag and I think it was such a good choice. I have the Marcie in the medium size, have carried it to death and it still looks amazing.
I have some Lanvin pumps and mine have taken about 10 full days of wear to break them in...I wore them in the house over socks and now they are super super comfy! It's a lot to have to do with such expensive shoes I guess!

For the flower flats what you need to do is, put the heel part in a hard surface and using a hammer carefully hammer the inside part until it softens the leather where the stitches are.

Ha! Also purchased the same Prada bowling bag in dark brown for FULL price and used it once!! Super heavy. Only kept it as the hardware was amazing including the Peada padlock. Finally sold it few months ago.

Hi love that video ! For the ballerina a little tip is to put a wet page of a newspapper in the shoe, that will make it less hard i had the same issue recently ;)
I enjoyed this even though everything in it is wayyyy out of my price range. I think the fun when you aren't rich is finding amazing buys/dupes that you'd never know cost a fraction of the original - or better still picking up designer pieces at sales and other random places. You can still look/feel nice even on a budget! Material is key I find. TK Maxx is also great they have Kate Spade bags in there for less than half the original price.

I've always wanted a Chanel or Chloe bag but I can't buy real leather. I wish they would come out with different versions without slaughtering animals. Most use lambskin and I can't support that. :( Not judging...just my personal opinion.
Try Givenchy as well, they have pagona/pagoda whatever its called in vegan leather. Its made from durable recycled tire rubber thing and its gorgeous

I don't have a best a bet & worst high end purchase, because I don't even have a high end purchese! Unless you count when I got a Guess handbag in a charity shop for £10, and that would be best and worse as £10 but heavy, studs get caught in my hair and its horrible to use.

I got the new Mulberry Clifton bag yesterday. I had my sights set on the Lily bag for a while now, but their new range by Johnny Coca really caught my eye and I loved how structured and elegant the Clifton was. I got the grained leather so it should wear well. The design really is a departure from traditional Mulberry, but I hope it will end up being a 'best' rather than 'worst' purchase.

My worst designer purchase was a Mansur Gavriel bucket bag in the large size. I was obsessed with getting one right when they first came out and was on a waitlist for 3 months in 2014 from January to March. I wore it the 6 months after I bought it and literally have worn it probably a total of 40 times. I love it and considered selling it but kept putting it off back then when you could sell them for double the retail. Now they're much easier to get your hands on so theres not gonna be any profit in selling.
