“Never forget” is the motto of violent revenge and it isn’t unique to 9/11 at all. Pearl Harbor and the Alamo are both “never forgets” too. It isn’t about forgetting the event. It is about carrying the feelings of disgust and rage.

I have a friend in that community and I had to teach him how to divide at age 20. It was difficult for him to learn.

Matt interrupts when the other guys talking about the reality of the school to expound on more dystopian fantasizing: the battle for schools is about the battle for the hearts and minds of the next generation.
The destruction of public schools isn’t just some random act of vandalism. It’s one part privatizing a massive commons with basically unlimited easy money for anyone who has the capital to start a school.
But more importantly it’s about the war against secular society. The Christian’s feel under attack and instead of altering their tactics snd becoming less intolerant to attract a larger audience they’ve gripped tighter to dogmatism and victimhood. The second part is simply accepting they can’t get around the first amendment for the time being and using school vouchers as s pipeline to get all children intk their private Christian schools, to create Christian education as the default through eliminating the competition. They can do this through permitting, private investment, propaganda, and in many states sheer majority force.
As the public schools are stripped bare down to the doors on the cupboards, the private school system will either be ruthless for profit where each student is maximized for profit by cramming more kids with less teachers, doing the barest minimum to qualify as a school, and creating fee structures to milk parents further. The elite private institutions will continue uninterrupted serving the population they already serve and probably being the only pipeline to elite universities and maybe even non elite.
The Christian schools even if they are teaching warped versions do American history, a largely gutted science program, abstinence only, and mandatory Bible study will have smaller class sizes sctuslly teach reading writing and arithmetic. Basically go Christian or tell your kids to go fuxk themselves. The larger problem will be these schools will be even worse for preparing kids for a modern workforce. They might feed into community college at best and shady Christian colleges at worst but your kids will be totally unprepared to pursue stem and art. Their grasp of history and liberal arts will be nonexistent. We will finally have a dearth of philosophy students unless it’s philosophy of religion.
At best you might be ready to be lawyer in originalism or some goofy conservative ideology. Maybe ciropracters and at best dentists (after all the dentist office is a haven of american conservatism) possibly doctors will still be s thing.
Our ability to advance technology, science, engineering, social sciences, psychology, film, and other arts. Culture will die. We will be poorer, stupider, and angrier. Life spans will drop. We will see social security snd medicsre get largely gutted or entirely so. A return to senior poor houses and work houses within two generations as the welfare system evaporates. Income inequality will skyrocket. Crime will bloom. Environmental poisoning common place. Lead hotspots will make a new generation of violent serial killers. Even as prison populations explode and pj ishments get more extreme the crime will just get worse and case solve rates might seem high but in reality they’ve plummeted as any of the actual scientific and intellectual tools used to find out who really did it go away.
The climate catastrophe will see mass migration. Food shortages. Concentration camps for the refugees. President matt Gaetz will institute emergency powers while spending most of his time paying the teenage girls of the failed middle class to have sex with him while he does drugs. Chief of staff Steven miller and director of homeland security Steven Bannon will draft a secret memo - we can’t keep feeding these migrants even the meager rations and deplorable conditions are straining a nonexistent government budget. Precious military funds and rations were diverted to feed these invaders housed in northern Mexico. There’s riots and escapes. The Mexican government is threatening to shove tens of thousands over the border. They need a final solution. To purge the refugee camps the prisons which have overgrown into tent cities.
All in all it’s 100 millions Americans and refugees. The plan is to make millions of doses of cyanide and distribute it in the evening meal along with a sedative. Ideally close to 100 million people will be killed in a single night. They joke about blaming it on a novel coronavirus. Everyone has some level of that virus in their body. We’ll just list it as the cause. A handful of loyal DHS employees sll high ranking proud boys are tasked with the job. Save America or perish with it.
The plan works. The few survivors are shot by panicked guards worrying about “catching it”. After reruns of 7th heaven the following day Americas most trusted and venerable news anchor, Tucker Carlson comes on with his cohost Tusli gabbard. A novel virus has struck out institutions. It’s spared good god fearing Americans and wiped the filth that was a stain our society and the source of so much god given punishment like heat waves and crop failures and the flooding of Florida which drowned DeSantis during a surf board to dunk on the climate hoaxers event turned deadly with a surprise tsunami - no one is left to manage the weather systems and warn us.
It’s the tragic will of god. A modern sodom and Gomorrah. The only question remains is there anyone left to see through the lies?

The truth is that the Fundamentalist Christian (IFB, "unaffiliated Baptist", Fousquare, etc.) private schools have come and gone in America, running their course from the 1950s to the aftermath of the Great Recession (the aftermath ran from 2009 to 2015). The Fundy Christian textbook publishers know that there are no real Fundy schools left, so that's why they sell "homeschooling packages" with one or two sets of student textbooks and one teachers' edition of all those books. The real power are now the charter schools, i.e. publicly funded private schools, and there are states where you can't get the testing numbers of these schools, they do that poorly.

Several protestant churches have split over issues like female clergy, gay marriage, and abortion rights. The split is because some churches want to modernize their views to attract more members. In your comment you say that this is not happening anywhere, but even the Catholic church is in the process of potentially modifying it's stances thru the Synod on Synodality, which is a response to shrinking parishes.

I had this idea watching Rev3 Gaming like 10 years ago when they were actually able to play a videogame using inputs from anyone watching the stream. I'm pretty sure with large enough bandwidth and high enough numbers the game would run fairly smoothly.
The best option would just be referendum and popular vote for that reason, but people can't accept something that straight forward. Plus if the sample size is large enough the results should be the same and be a lot more expedient.

Nah, it has been that way since before most of the hosts were born. It's socialization so kids dont go feral lol, you can't actually force them to learn. It is just the acceptable framework for forcing them into an industrial building for the majority of the work day. School Boards and curriculum decisons etc ,all of the drama that is supposed to be kneecapping education, are just a fundamental release valve for the culture war.
