Great demonstration thanks. Glad yours works, as it looks a great feature.
My brother and I tested his today for the first time, in an empty parking lot - could barely get it to work properly!
Out of twenty attempts, it really only worked 3 times, and even then was jerky, hesitant and stopped about 4 meters away. A few times it would start by reversing for no reason, but many times it would just stop mid way through journey....quite funny to watch, though painful too!
Haven't seen any others complaining about this problem with this free trial - hopefully it was just us not doing it right🤔.

It’s around 60 metres / 200 feet, it only travels slowly

I have the same problem.🤭 Don’t know what to do. I saw in a video that you can add everything after you purchased the car if you change your mind.

@@espuelasadivino54 yep I have had my model 3 just over 5 months now and yep I opted not to do the enhanced autopilot. I am waiting though for FSD in Australia to be available to everyone

Who knows, really though, it’s a good party trick, other than that, I ended up turning off auto lane change, it wasn’t refined enough for my liking.

A mostly empty parking lot. Not a very realistic test of Smart Summon.
Try it at a busy shopping mall on Saturday afternoon.

@@markkennard861 Agreed, self driving is a huge challenge from a programming standpoint. Made even more difficult now that Elon Musk has dropped some of the sensors from the Tesla vehicles, just to save money and increase profits.
7 years ago, Elon Musk said this:
"Soon, Full Self Driving will take you from Los Angeles to New York City, door to door, automatically"
Today, Tesla is nowhere even close to fulfilling that promise. And driving around a *parking* *lot* with stationary cars is much easier than driving across the country.
Full Self Driving is pretty much *FRAUD* at this point in time. Elon Musk is all about hype and broken promises.

@@DerekDavis213 Hi. Please correct me if I'm wrong but it sounds like you have summon confused with self driving ? Summon is only to move the car out of a tight space or move away from a puddle so quite basic. Self driving is evolving nicely. I seem to remember vids of cars driving through San Fran unaided which is a task I wouldn't be happy with esp in that I drive on the other side of the road.

    • @DerekDavis213
      @DerekDavis213 Před rokem

@@markkennard861 I know what Summon is. My point is that if Summon does *NOT* work consistently, then what hope is there for Full Self Driving? Summon is a much simpler operation.
Self driving is not evolving nicely, AT ALL.
There have been recent problems with Phantom Braking, where the car's brain-dead Self Driving system brakes hard on the highway, for no reason. That is dangerous!
Also there was recently a huge recall of Tesla vehicles because Self Driving was defective and causing collisions and *deaths* .
Anyone with a STEM background will quickly realize that having a car that can *safely* drive itself is a hugely complicated challenge. If Self Driving is 95% or even 99% effective, that is simply *not* *good* *enough* when it comes to the safety of your family.

Like I say.. baby steps. If it was easy everyone would be doing it. My summon worked without issues but it was very basic. I purposely pointed the car at the corner of my house and it steered away from it. Tesla gave us free summon for the month of Jan but removed it, I only used it a few times.
