Thanks for watching the vid! Plenty more from Whistler here (playlist): tinyurl.com/y7fjdgfe
This is so good! I'm leaving for Whistler this Saturday and this guide was perfect. Can't wait to hit Creekside and Whistler Brewing! Thanks for the info!!!
Dusty's at Creekside has awesome ribs and beer and has the best vibe of any of the bars, I reckon. Just don't ride black tech trails on the way home after too many beers...🙄
U Have The BEST Mountain Biking Channel In The Whole World . I Love U Guys SOOO MUCH :)
Where is the "part 2" of this video?
please make a part 2!! include more about the other activities within 30min-1hr drive of whistler. more on the food and beer. different trails around? squamish? what to expect with crowds etc maybe show a map and discuss how to get around :D I'm from Australia and I've ridden heaps in southern hemisphere but i'm a clueless noob when it comes to Canada. I'll defs be going there asap!
Thanks for the suggestions! Yup, you gotta get yourself to Canada.
Yes Squamish/Fromme guide please Mr Loam! I used your previous Whistler guide just last week and it worked like a charm, many thanks for that. Gonna hit either Squamish or Fromme in September so could use a guide, and if there are actual guided rides you could suggest as well, that would be great!
Fan-*TASTIC* idea for a video that was executed perfectly! 👌 This is going to be an awesome guide for a lot of people!
Agreed! I'm only an interested spectator to this kind of riding and found this video incredible.
I was at Whistler about a month and when you said it's a "mountain bikers heaven", I can totally agree!!
Absolutely. Love it there.
Very lucky to have family in the village to stay with. Doing my first trip this weekend, fired up to ride real rocks finally
It's a long way from Australia but it's on the bucket list! Great video, thanks heaps.
We lived in Edmonton for a year but we had to move to USA because of work and I regret not going to Whistler Bike Park. I'll definitely go there someday once we moved back to Canada. Thank you so much for this very informative video!
And that's one trip in planning as soon as time allows it :D
My son and I are heading to Whistler in August. Will be our first trip there, your video was very helpful! Thanks!
I don’t live anywhere near Whistler. Heck, I’m not an adult yet to go there, but I love watching this for the future because it’s my dream to go there!
I ride the park every week but I still found this entertaining. Great vid!
I visited Whistler last week. It has been great and totally agree with your reviews on this video. Also we did heli drop thanks to your information. Maybe next year I will visit again.
Nice! Glad you could get out for the heli drop.
Do more, just do more plz! I'm from Denmark and to some day go to Whistler would be a dream!
Thanks! As I always say... make a plan and make it happen. You'll get out to Whistler sooner than you think, I'm sure!
I know some guys who went to crankworx they said it was chaotic for the people who didn't know what they were doing but this guide will help
Totally. It's a madhouse during Crankworx!
Coming back to this video after crossing Whistler Bike Park off the bucket list last summer! Phenomenal video, Whistler really did live up to all the expectations and was the "happiest place on earth".
And yet again, another awesome video man! I dream of going to Whistler, and one day I will make that dream come true.
@6:40 that trail looks amazing. I absolutely love the smooth flowie trails like that, with some nice jumps!
Thanks for the Whistler "how to" man. I'll have to keep this video in mind for when I make it there.
Cheers brotha!
Thanks! Yes those new flow trails are crazy good. Whistler is worth the trip!
Awesome vid!!!! Just what we've all been waiting for. So helpful! Thanks very much
Good to hear! Thanks man.
Another great video - very informative and interesting! Thanks!
Woohooo!! perfect timing..flying out Saturday!!! Thanks Ryan!!
Nice! Me too actually. See you there!
Nice!!! hope to see you !!!
Trail Fails I’m going out a week from Sunday and riding Bellingham!
@@joshuaross4226 sweet!!!!have a blast!!!
Word up! I'll be there with my friends as well. We should link up and do some Loam Ranger appreciation runs for posting this excellent guide to the Whistler Bike Park!
Great video. I never in my wildest dreams thought I would get a chance to go to whistler but I am now. so watching this video was awesome. Lets see how it goes. Thank you.
Great video! Thanks for helping out the rest of us.
You bet man! Hope to see you out there at some point.
It's on the list!
Perfect! First time going to whistler in about a month from now! Thanks for the video!
Sweet! Enjoy it man!
SO super cool man. the more i watch your and BKXC vids of BC canada the more i itch to go. thanks for the vid.
Yeah let's see a Part 2!!!👍👍🤘
Probably one of my favorite videos in the past year! Love the work you're putting out!
Nice! Thanks for the feedback Russell!
You do a really great job in these videos. Thank you.
Thanks Chris!
Wow this was super detailed and in-depth! Can't wait for a part 2! Would also love to see a series like this for Revelstoke as that place is truly a hidden gem.
Good idea! I'll be headed there for the first time in a few weeks. Can't wait!
Mate, another insightful vid. Can’t wait to get there... someday!
You will! Cheers.
Awesome 👏👊💥💯👍🤘😄🎉💥💥 great upload, thanks Loam Ranger
Glad you liked it! Cheers
the OGs of the channel will know you did this video a while back :D! But surely not as extensive as this updated one!
Haha yup I did a "Whistler Hacks" video this time last year. It was time for an update!
Great video. Would love to see a part 2
Perfect timing. I'm setting here filling out my passport application to get into Canada to ride around Whistler & Squmish for a few weeks in September & this video pops up. I'm saving it for a reference guide cause there is such good advice on it that I can use👍👍
Haha that's awesome. You won't be disappointed!
dude, vids like these are what make you my favourite mtb youtuber
Much appreciated! Thanks 🤘🏼
Super complete, wish I had seen this before my first time at Whistler!
Thanks! There's always more to add but I'm glad this was useful for ya. Now get back to Whis!
I love Whistler! Best riding. Period.
Thanks for great guide
Cheers!
awsome video going to whistler next year!
Thanks! You're gonna love it.
Really good dude! If your fork can except a vorsprung luftkappe install one now! Best upgrade I have ever done to my bike.
Thanks! Ya that's what I hear about the Luftkappe.
Good idea Ryan, like the video a lot!
Thanks Grant! Hopefully it’ll be helpful for people.
Brilliant vidz you should defo do some more
Watching this on my lunch break, I've to say that this beer is making me thisrty . Good job
Haha then I’ve done my job. 🍻
Awesome video very helpful!
Great to hear!
Great video... hopefully next year I'll make it to Whistler!
Do it! Thanks Carl.
Awesome vid! Love it!
Good to hear man!
Great vid!
Thanks Loamy
Cheers David!
This was really great!!
Thanks Nick!
Great tips dude! Stoked to be heading out there in a few weeks! Living out of the van and being a bike bum just like 85% of people in whistler hahaha!
Haha you'll be right there with BCPOV. Enjoy Whis!
Thx for this vid dude ! I hope going to Whistler
You're welcome. Make it happen!
just came back from a trip there and on my last day i did over 9000 meters decent in one day. great video keep it up.
Yowza!
this is so helpful this is awesome
Great to hear Dan!
Thank you! This is really helpful, I usually ski at Whistler but I’m getting a part time job soon to save up for a trip to Whistler in the summer (my parents don’t like me going skiing and mountain biking so they refuse to pay for me hehe)
This vid is my new bible :) aiming for the first Whistler trip in 2020
Haha nice. 2020 here we come!
Top of the world looks sweet!
OoOooo such a cool video!!!! hahah kate just made me watch it!
Haha nice! I’m on the shuttle to Whis right now actually 😀👌🏼
I might have watched all your other videos too 😳😳😳 hahaha welcome to whistler!!!!! 🤙🏼🤙🏼💪🏼💪🏼
Loved it
Awesome that Claire Buchar and Laska made an appearance in your video. I'm a little bit jealous!
looks awesome
It is!
I want to ride there so bad
please do a part two....planning a trip to Whistler want to get it dialed
after 10 runs in my first day at whistler, it felt like all my fingers were broken and had totally swollen wrists, i'd reccomend gloves with some padding
Haha yup.
Gloves don't help with sore hands... in order of importance:
1) Tire pressure
2) Suspension (esp. fork) setup
3) Grips
4) Alignment of your brake/shifters on the bar so wrists are in a good position
5) Relax your hands, don't deathgrip.
Fab video Loam Ranger
Thanks!
This is Original Content. Good Job
Thanks!
Cool Video and nice Rider 🙃
Haha thanks!
if i could only ride 1 zone, i would ride fitzimmons
I think I'd have to agree with you.
Best video !
Would love to hit whistler one day, gonna bookmark this for then, may still be of use :D
I hope so!
Great vid mate. Funny when you said sorry about the audio i thought you were referring to his Aussie accent....lol, being Australian i have heard shit like that before. I know you meant the trucks etc now though.
Too late, I just went there and had to learn the hard way :) Anyway good to watch
Haha well, even learning the hard way is a lot of fun in Whistler :D
I want to go there so bad!
Make a plan and make it happen!
Pacific coach is another company which offers airport pickup and has a toilet on the bus, carries bikes as well
That was a great video, i watch all your vids but I'm headed to Whistler in 2020, so that was on point for me. I noticed in the TLD shop you mentioned "Snowboard stuff" and kept walking... did you realise that was Shaun Palmers snowboard you walked by? I know its a snowboard but he's a MTB Godfather dude!! Thanks for the vid man.
Ha really? I used to have Shaun Palmer posters on my wall! Never followed his snowboarding side of things though.
yeah man, i only realised because of the large moto numbers on the board, his trademark "555", and the fact he has always been a Troy Lee ambassador since the early days.Keep up the good work dude.
when it comes to video quality-production ,story line ,music,etc..... you are right up there, just below seth, you have surpassed already youtubers who came before you and have more subs, but you have more entertaining videos ;-)
Thanks for the kind words!
cool video ;)
Thanks!
If you prefer natural tech and don't like flow, is the park worth it or should you just head out to Whistler Valley (I think it's called)/north and west of town?
I recommend using Vrbo because y’all can get some crazy deals on nice accommodations
If I was to plan a "bucket list" trip to Whistler, what's the best time of the year to book for safe weather? I know nothing is guaranteed, but I'd hate to fly halfway around the globe for terrible weather!!!
I'm also torn about avoiding Crankworx, or experiencing it. Don't want to be stuck in hour long lift lines and ride chewed up trails and have no hotel rooms available etc....
ridebooker/whistelr shuttle/whistler connect is legit.
protip: get a seat on the left side of the van!
Totally! Gotta get those Sea To Sky views
I bumped the likes to 1K. Yay me! lol
You win a high five! ✋🏼✨
I’m debating wether to get the hero 4 or 5, I’m also interested in mountain biking. PLEASE HELP!!!!
How are you liking the Pole Evolink after having it for a while now? I am really interested in purchasing that bike for myself, and curious on how it has been as your go to bike.
Man I wish it wasnt so expensive to get there from Perth Australia. Would so love to give those trails a shot
Make it happen! I think half of Whistlers population is Australian, so it must be doable haha
While this video is pretty old but my question is timeless. What's the best time of year to ride Whistler? In relation to trail conditions.. ty
What wold you be replacing after a couple days of riding....?
pls part 2
Excellent info, thank you! Question, if you DO need to get replacement parts, which bike shop options are there? Is it worth a drive to go somewhere because it’s much cheaper than the resort? Thanks.
Prices are the same roughly at most shops in the village and down to Squamish. You can call around and see if something is on sale but generally it's pretty hard to save money other than ordering online. Even in Vancouver prices are roughly the same. I would call Fanatykco, Arbutus Routes, Coastal Culture, Evolution Sports for part prices in Whistler before going to the GBB owned by the resort for example.
Excellent info, thanks!
I’m going to whistler soon and I have a trail bike with 120mm of travel, don’t have the money to rent, so is there a way to get the absolute most out of my travel and save my hands some serious pain😂
🔥
Do you get to keep the gopros??
I'm also a ski/snowboading guy. Around bike park closing day can i enjoy both bike and ski?
Not sure about closing day, but I know on opening day for the bike park, the upper mountain is still open for skiers!
what month would you recommend for a trip? me and a couple of friends want to make a trip from germany and are unsure when to go ^^
I’d say go when all zones are open to get the most out of the mountain, including the Peak Zone for the Top Of The World Trail. So late July to early September would be ideal, IMO.
Like I said on Patreon, planning late September trip to BC, this vid will be epic! Does anyone know if the park is open weekdays in September, first week of October? There site wasn't 100% clear on that.
I've ridden mid-week in October before, so you should be good to go!
I gotta question: how much does it cost to rent a downhill bike at whistler?
How much does a rent dh bike costs on whistler?
Why does this have only 46k views, yet Blue Velvet has many millions?
I don't understand why so many more would watch that?
First part should be IF YOUR VERY RICH ESSENTIAL GUIDE. becouse there are busses that can take you, and that hotel you recommend is incredibly expensive.
Hey - when is the series on your training for Peru coming?
We ran out of time to film what I wanted to with that series, unfortunately. I do plan on doing some kind of follow up this fall though.
Could I ride a hardtail down Whistler?
Can you buy a ticket from the creekside Gondola side?
You can, yup!
how much are the bike rentals approx
Im rewatching this Vid and now Realize these HardTail Chromag Riders are Insane crrazy in the Head Kind of people. Hours of Gnarly Descents and they dont even feel beat up after a ride.
Or! Do they Buy these Chromag hardtails when they are extremely advanced riders in their mind?
If I did exclusively Green and Some Blue Trails could I do it with a hardtail?
Well, you could of course, and plenty of people do, but it's tough on the body!
@@TheLoamRanger thanks for the info, maybe I'll rent a bike instead lol
