@interest5217 partly due to South Western Railway having technical issues like PRM compliance (accessible to disabled passengers) and problems with the doors and windscreens etc. But also the covid pandemic hit SWR and limited their services, so SWR chose to abandon the project
I was also reading that the Class 442s that would had needed more modifications and had to be compliant and to be fully accessible by 2024 to meet Persons with Reduced Mobility (PRM)
The Sydney Train fan 4478 Even I miss the class 442s but unfortunately they had a lot of teething troubles and they kept breaking down so unfortunately SWR had to take them out of service on their network
They won't be going to Weymouth as the main service they will do is Waterloo to Portsmouth via Guildford with Rush hour services to Southampton and Poole
The Class 442s have now been permanently withdrawn by South Western Railway and will be replaced by refurbished Class 458s which will be transferred from the Reading line and reforming them from 5 to 4 coaches and re-rated to meet the need for 100mph operations and other modifications to associate them for Mainline services to the South Coast
@woodentrainseriesofficial9511 - Class 458s have been in use with SWT as 458/0s with 4 carriages and no gangway. Since thenthe 458 has had a extra coach from the 460s and a gangway installed. SWR was going to scrap the lot of the 458s but have decided to remove the "460 coach" and refurbish them.
@WCSpotting I do know who it is but I m not going to say any names on here due to data protection and I did reported this person a couple of months ago but unfortunately I did not hear anything back from this platform.
@MPD Transport unfortunately at the time the class 442 had a lot teething troubles at the before they where withdrawn from service on the South Western network.

South Western Railway should give them a nickname known as "Portsmouth Express" or "Portsmouth Direct".
lllllllllllllllllllllllllllll
Well. South western railway will no longer be using the 442s as they are going to be returned to Angel Trains.
