  • Hey you guys! I’m back with a new video. This time its not about a DIY, but a How-to on propagation! I thought this paired really well with my previous video, propagation planters. I hope you enjoy learning a little about how to propagate my FAVORITE plant at the moment, a PRAYER PLANT!
Its scientific name is Maranta leuconeura, she has several variations. The one I have in my thumbnail is the ‘Red Maranta Plant’ and the one I actually propagate in the video is a ‘Lemon-Lime Maranta Plant’. Seriously such a beautiful plant. It makes me so happy to see the little roots g r o w!
Drop your FAV plant you have in the comments! Make sure to like and subscribe to my channel so I know what content you guys like the most, so I can continue sharing with you all!
    Enjoy!
    xoxo

I love your channel. Do you change out your water or just add water when it gets low?

Cindra Rodrigues Thank you so much! I do change out the water every week or so. I’ve found when you are propagating and the end goal is to eventually add the cuttings to soil, they root so much faster when you have fresh water every week or two!
I have an entire propagation wall, that water I will top off and then when I feel like it I’ll change out the water completely. But those ones I plan on keeping in water 🥰

Marantas are fairly forgiving. They are a bright indirect sunlight plant that is able to go a good while between watering. I’m not sure your situation, but as long as you’re not overwatering it and it’s in a well lighted space it should be producing some leaves for you.

Prayer plants are trailing plants, so they will lean and trail 🌱

You don't need to find a node, just a leaf and a bit of stem is fine for this plant. No rooting hormone needed either.
