Dharkon Ending: Everyone freezes from darkness
Galeem Ending: Everyone gets fried from light
True Ending: They balance out (while simultaneously killing everyone)
A room temperature explosion
It says on the game if you let galleem win, the galaxy is consumed by light. If you let Dharkon win, the planet will be swallowed by darkness.
true ending: the charters souls get freed
In dark ending mario dies and light everyone dies in true they get freed

Man, Dharkon’s victory just felt downright depressing. He brutally tears apart something he sought vengeance against for so long, and now he entirely seals the world around him in darkness.
Compared to galeem who purified him then purified the universe?

What pisses me of about these two is that after you just did their dirty work and defeat their most hated foe and their only threat to universal rule, both of this bastards dispose of you just as quickly without a trace of gratitude.
When dealing with a force, you gotta respect it like an iron worker respects the Metal. It simply does not reason or show emotion. It’s there to do one thing and one thing only. If you make the mistake of treating those two forces as people as humans then you will be eliminated

So in one of these a endings Mario canonically dies...
Mario is dead because Galeem is symbollicly Nintendo and Dharkon is The Toxic Fandom. If Nintendo dies(Or does whatever the fandom says) Mario Dies because the Fandom makes Nintendo do everything sucking the imagination and Magic in the mario games. So mario DIES. Just watch game theory

The endings where everyone dies just kind of discontinues all those games. Mario died for real. Just collapsed and devoured by darkness
Yeah but it wasn't just Mario.
nah he just is returning to his game
He had a 1 up
Well "Mario dying" thing isn't a suprise anymore.
Well, to be fair, according to the lore of smash, these aren't the actual characters from their respective franchises.
They are creations meant to represent them, created by master hand to entertain it in the first game. Since then, due to shenanigans, master hand has lost control over it's creations.
So no, mario never dies in this. His smash clone does.

@@rikkikreger9791 he can’t die , he just Goes to the “overthere” realm . Know your lore !
Mario actually died instead of fainted
Master Hand Molded the Smash World. His Twin Crazy Hand helped but in a more reckless way. Master Hand loves creating while. Crazy Hand loves to cause chaos but not necessarily Destroy.
Tabuu, an alien celestial entity of Control wanted to control and seperate all the worlds into their own pocket dimensions. Representing the adult drive to organize their toys or pack up their toys in storage and never play use them again.
Master Core, the Soul of Master Hand, representing the frustration of desiring to be a child but also the desire to grow up and have more freedom yet also bringing more responsiblity. The frustrations of loving your childhood but also the requirement of needing to grow up. The sacrifices that you have to do in your own life with the process of growing up. The Core represented basically the weight of life and the expectations of everyone upon yourself and the expectations you hold yourself too.
When we defeat the core, we are basically helping Master Hand and in turn Crazy Hand, accept their role, accept their purpose, and helping them let go of the heavy burden of being the creators of the Smash World. essentially accepting that the beings in their world can handle themselves and that they are allowed to more freedom amongst themselves and with oneanother.
I'm losing myself here I wish I was better at explaining my point of view.
Galeem the Lord of Light is a perfect example of a being that only sees in black and white. Only light no darkness no choices, obey and follow. All will be order all will be one hive mind. Zeolotry of Ones own view of right and wrong. Taking it to an extremely evil level of order. Nazi like.
Dharkon, shuns order and light and desires Power of a different kind. He desires power in the realm of death and shadow and chaos. The lust of sin. All beings corrupted hate filled, seeking selfish destruction, which inevitably leads to death and despair.
We as the smashers free the non smasher denizens of this world, free Crazy and Master of Dharkon and Galeems control.
We defeat the eternal cosmic forces of True Eternal Darkness and Unforgiving Light.
Therefore freeing the world of Smash, but also making a statement . That neither The complete absence of Light or the unwilling to accept that darkness is necessary to understand right and wrong, without a balance both are corrupt and evil.
This is ofcourse not an anti religious statement but rather the obvious nature of man kind. The best and kindest people have potential for great evil. And the sickest of men could choose to do a great deed.
That doesnt mean their is no right and wrong because of course their is. Anywho....I'm done
Thanks for this. I enjoyed the read 😌
@@josephblot4472 wow really? Reading it over I can already think of better things to say but I appreciate it man
I just wrote something similar too my man. There’s no denying what’s being said and presented. What you see what you felt what you understood is at its purest. I too understood this. As humans or Smashers we have the choice how what we make of ourselves. The dark is consuming its death, while the light is judgement which no one has any right, yet with the destruction of the two, a force beyond good and evil, with the power to create and destroy, that reigns over dark and light, it takes the souls into the sky. If Mario collapsed, he along The Boss’ soul rose up and flew into the sky into that spiral
Hhhhhhm looks like you watch game theory cause matpat said it first

First I was annoyed to find out I had to get the bad endings for 100%, but now I'm here because the bad darkness ending was so fucked up I wanted to come see Mario collapse again
I'm serious that ending is so brutal. And I love it
The true ending is when all activities may be resumed
its funny how i never knew there was two other endings. i was too afraid to free all galleems fighters to make dharkon win or free all dharkons fighters to make galleem win in the final battle.
You can free all the fighters and spirits to balance it all out. You just have to keep going back and forth
I immediately knew the gimmick when I saw the screen moving in the final area and just did the obviously right thing. Honestly, world of light was super underwhelming aside from the intro cutscenes and the two brutal bad endings. It went on way too long and had too little variety. Spirits are great in short bursts and world of light would have been good for a few hours (like two or three for each section) but it feels like twenty for Galeem and Darkhon each with another five or so for the final area. It was no substitute for subspace emissary, that's for sure.

Those bad endings actually made me bad for Galeem and Dharkon! I mean, THAT WAS BRUTAL!
In a way, I guess the good ending is also the best possible ending for both Galeem and Dharkon, since neither got brutalized, they were able to restore everything, and they get to continue existing as Spirits.

@@wobbmin3705 The beauty in balance?
Galeem's death is the most brutal in my opinion (I'm glad that I only did the true ending, I could never bear such brutality)
@@Sick_in_love I actually feel bad for Galeem but no pity whatsoever for Dharkon.
I gotta say I absolutely loved the Dharkon bad ending. Even more than the good ending. The scene of Dharkon quite litterally IMPALING Galeem was so unexpected and shocking that I loved it. The loud sounds from the chains and the spikes really add strenght to the impact. Watching Mario falling to the ground like all hope is lost was something new that I didn't expect from a game featuring Mario, and I loved it.
Finally, the final bit where the world is engulfed in darkness and we get a close up of Dharkon's big gowing cat eye, kind of telling that he controls everything and you're at his mercy. That final shot was everything.

I would call the true ending the return to former glory

• Defeat Galeem Only = Dark Ending
• Defeat Galeem and Dharkon = True Ending
Its ironic that in the bad dark ending, that darkhan is the only source of light.
Guys so from what I understand in the darkness ending Mario dies because since Galeem absorbed everyone besides Kirby, and because galeem died all of the power was taken from the fighters and given to dharkon
These endings would actually be impactful if you fought actual characters instead of bushes and ladders.
Yes, because Tabuu had so much personality. (I actually love Tabuu, and I feel the same about Galeem and Dharkon)

I think what I loved most about this game, is that Galeem/Dharkon were introduced in this game, yet they feel like they've always been here since the first game. *Master hand/Crazy hand being their puppets* Then the sub-space war begun, where Tabuu was sent by Dharkon to take the world.
Once defeated, Galeem decides to play his hand upon Tabuu's defeat, seeing of how the world could end without his interference, thus the first thing he does is demand the subjugation of all living things.
Leading to an EPIC final battle between two gods, and heroes/Villains that inhabit this universe.
No hero can be made without a villain.
No light can shine without darkness.
Such a poetic ending, and it makes me feel sad knowing this might be the last *Official* Story.
@1upActive Master hand and crazy hand *in terms of story* are on equal terms, until the sub-space emissary occurs. Once Dharkhon plays his card, Crazy hand is nowhere in sight.
So one could say, that the balance was kept for a long period of time, until one decided to overthrow the other.

No one wins: YES!
The true ending is Sephiroth's trailer
I feel like the Canon ending is a lesson of balance, if there is too much darkness things will be devoured if there is too much light then you become blind. However if both pose as threats then eliminating both will bring order, one cannot coexist without the other.
Oh man this made me cry first time I saw it. It means a lot to me. Darkon it wants to spread its death and shadow and consume the world and everyone in it. Galeem, the light, it deems everyone as impure and therefore will eliminate all. It feels we all need to be eliminated. There’s no in between and no balance as many believe, but there’s a way, above what’s good and evil, above Galeem and Darkon. And that’s what you see, the spiral of souls flying into the sky being called. Beyond what’s darkness and light.

ok so, the hero trailer takes places in the bad darkness ending, so that one must be the canon one, and mario is canonically dead
no it doesnt, it just shows dark boi at the beggining cus he controlling these bad clones
I don’t think anything in Smash is canon. The lore changes every game. And if trailers were canon, that would mean Mario’s true death was at the hands of Ridley.
you can't prove he's dead if you don't see a body ;)

I got the true ending first try lmao, so to get it you just need to have both of darhkon and Galeem's hp even while fighting them and it doesn't matter who you kill first
Nintendo has done it's dark endings in their games before, but the two bad endings they did in this game are just...unnerving...Especially the bad dark ending. To see Mario (my favorite character) drop presumably dead like that in the bad dark ending is just...damn.

Too much light leads to tyranny while too much darkness leads to ruination. Both sides need to be balanced to maintain peace and stability for everyone and everything. That’s why defeating both sides at once was my 1st choice for this game.

Next they fight taboo. The feeling to move on from childhood.
In smash ultimate the light represents Nintendo because it wants to enslave all of the characters to profit from them while the dark represents the fan base, wanting to Chain up Nintendo to force them to make what they want. Through all of this fight the characters are caught up in the middle and seen as a trophy for them both.

You think the true ending, all of those spirits are characters from other game universes and dimensions that have yet to enter smash, even counting the characters that will probably never make it in (like a Sony/Playstation rep), and the true ending's imagery of all those spirits going up into the sky back to their worlds represent their worlds now connecting to the smash universe, meaning that narrative-wise, it does make sense for any character from any video game to join?
When you think about this, timeline-wise this takes place after Subspace, and all the 3rd party characters being there was probably the doing of Galeem and Darkon as their dimension fuckery were beginning to meddle with other universes outside Nintendo's (maybe Galeem and Darkon were causing stuff to occur under everyone's noises during the events of Subspace Emissary, causing at least Snake and Sonic to pop out of nowhere).
Either that or I'm just overthinking it again
I feel like at 2:53 is the good ending, their spirits may have flown away, but in my thinking, I’m sure they were sent back to their own universe...
It would be fitting that this is the last smash bros in the franchise no?
