I have just gone thru about 20 bad videos. Yours is exactly what I was looking for. No nonsense, no bad music, no computer voice and clearly you are a tool guy. Thanks
I also love that he reviewed it after having used it for many years. Lots of other reviewers will unbox it and review it at once, but it might start having issues later on. This is the best way of doing it.
Awesome review!! Thanks for that detailed review. I was shopping around for a Dremel to buy and your review convinced me to buy this particular model.. 👍👍👍
Thanks Mike, you've persuaded me. I was looking at this in the store today but thought I'd check out some reviews before ordering. Just what I needed, cheers!
Mike! DUDE! I've been considering the purchase of one of these gizmos for a couple of months, now. And I have lots of questions: Corded, Cordless, 3V, 5V, 8V, 12V? Do they make brushless? Accessories, attachments, extras? So many choices. So many manufacturers. YOU my dear sir, have helped me narrow my search so, so, so much! THANK YOU!!!!! I must confess: I was a little taken aback in the beginning. Why would this guy do a review on a tool he's been using for over 5 years!?!?! That's crazy! No it isn't. Within seconds, we have a testimonial on the reliability of the Dremel. Well done! Additionally, you talked me out of buying one of those 328 piece accessory sets. The moral of the story: I'm so glad I came across your video. Thank you again. Mark
I just stumbled upon your channel and its fantastic my man, good content, you calls it like you sees it as far as the reviews go, plus you say some funny shit. Keep up the good work brother.
+Joseph Woodall awesome amd welcome to my channel. For a new viewer might I suggest my "shop carnage" video or my new tool box tour. Those are at least entertaining if not informative .
Excellent review. Straight to the point and definitely helped me in my decision to go with the 8220. Any diamond bits for rock carving in the kit that comes with this unit?
"... comes with these little buffing wheels- i don't really get too much use out of them; i don't really give a shit what things look like" now i know i came to the right place. thanks for a straight up review on the merits of the thing for its intended uses - brief projects where cordless is an asset, not a liability, and without attempting to run accessories like flex shafts and right angle drill adapters. i didn't need the last dozen negative reviews telling me how poorly the cordless dremel functions as a vehicle recovery winch or aircraft carrier catapult rewinder. thanks for bringing it back to reality.
How much metal cutting have you done? I am assuming some with your setup. I kill a lot of Dremels in the past. I current have die grinder though need another dremel for tight area.
Hi Mike , Nice Review . I Just Picked This Up Today . Part Thanks to You And Your Review . They Changed the Charger Shape for the Better . you're able to See Charger light from Above or Looking at It From Horizontal . They Don't Come with EZ Lock . That Will Probably Will be Next .
just got one of these only gripe is the speed slider button feels loose or almost no resistance when you move it back n forth, i thought i had a dodgy one but it seems thats the way it is.
FYI, half charged or a little bit less is great for keeping good Li-Ion battery life. Too much charged or too hot storage will diminish life. GREAT VIDEO !
Your comments are right on and the line perfectly of my experience of this dream I told the battery last a very long time it has a very fast spendle speed I'd like to know if anyone has any experience using it as a milling machine?
Nice review. I also have been owning this cordless model for ru2ght around the same time youve owned yours. The tool is great. I own a bunch of accessories and they are handy and very cool to use. I dont regret buying it, but if i had to it all over again, i would buy the milwaukee version, reason being is the battery. 40 bucks for a battery is a high. I already have a plethora of m12. I own no other dremel tool so really if i buy another dremel battery l it would ve exclusive to my 8220. Also, the 8220 seems fragile meaning that it won't withstand a 5 ft drop, it feel very plastic bhtmmm
I see you've owned it for 5 years now, have you had issues with the charger like people say? and have you ever had to change the brush and if so, where do I access it? and Dremel promised 15min run time on their batteries at full speed, have you noticed significant drop in that time? Make a little effort to answer your viewers Sir.
Had my old dremel forever it gave out on me a couple years ago and I've just managed using other tools as a supplement. Finally ordered another dremel. Crazy its battery powered boy has it changed
Depends what you do with it. I just sharpened a lawnmower blade (heavily damaged and needed a lot of sharpening), an edge trimming blade , and cut through some aluminium tubing (1/4 inch thick, 1 and 1/4 inch diameter) before it finally ran out. I think the aluminium cutting was the thing that did the most damage. Very soft, blade tends to bind.
Oscar Maciel...Oscar! Hey man! Lol, of course I was kidding but I’m glad you saw so,e humor in that. :) Again, great review, I own one myself and love it...and Oscar...I run high all the time too...I mean I run my Dremel on high constantly too. Peace out!
Don't worry, if you kill the battery somehow, you can always replace those 18650 cell batteries by buying these 3 new ones online. I also hate those screw type ones, having to grab a screwdriver and unscrew it, screw back in. Annoying
I use the same model. You've gotta get a few boxes of ebay 1/8" carbide bits to go with it ($10 per box of 20 is better than $10 per Dremel bit). The Dremel 199 saw bit is also useful for close quarters. And it charges on my Bosch 10.8V charger, which is great, because the Dremel charger is 110V for USA, and I live in a 220V third world shithole.
I had a battery one and didn’t like it! It was one of the first models though. I now have a corded one and would never go back. I have an apprentice who can stretch a cord for me😄
You know how u just can't figure out why ur not taking off & what is that just 1 dam ingredient ur missing to have ur efforts matter, because we both know the heart and potential and knowledge are there.....well it's production, ur production is holding u back and i'm not going to pretend to know everything and micro manage it and hey man I hope all ur dreams come true I got nothin but love for ya but I'm convinced its ur production, might be worth hiring a professional to take a look at a few videos, good luck man!!
that's a well thought out comment man and I appreciate it. but I honestly never got in to this for it to take off, I just do it for fun and dont really care how successful it is. I'm actually really surprised how successful it's been to this point. my 1 year goal was 500 subs and I think I had like 12k after a year. so it's far exceeded my expectations
Useless review - His review sample already has the chuck and drill bit already attached, so you can't see how difficult it is to learn how to use this flippin thing!!
I have just gone thru about 20 bad videos. Yours is exactly what I was looking for. No nonsense, no bad music, no computer voice and clearly you are a tool guy. Thanks
Spot on. Thought exactly the same. Wish all tool reviews were this clear and straightforward.
i coun't watch the whole video, that nail is just creeping me out, cut your nails gentelmen!
I also love that he reviewed it after having used it for many years. Lots of other reviewers will unbox it and review it at once, but it might start having issues later on. This is the best way of doing it.
Great review, the best i’ve seen on this model.
I’m convinced and out to buy one now.
Thanks for making the time.

Great review! Good to hear from a long term user - very helpful thanks. I'm off to my local supplier right now to get one!
Well done. Just ordered one off Amazon minutes after finishing your review. Thanks Mike!
Thank you Mike. Fantastic review and I like your thinking. I too am going to get the cordless.
Thanks for taking the time for us! Buying one tonight :P

Great review. I could not get that hanger down to use it. You helped me. Great explanation of the parts, too.
Thanks Mike, I just picked one up and this tool is awesome!😁
You had me at long term review. Nice and informative, thanks.

Great review. No Fluff. It sure looks & sounds like you know this tool & use tools. I like 18650s. Good Job, like your style. Thx!
Excellent review. Straight to the point and definitely helped me in my decision to go with the 8220. Any diamond bits for rock carving in the kit that comes with this unit?
Great and concise review and it’s clear he knows wha he is taking about. Thanks.

Do you think I could 25-30 bolts with 14 mm heads on one charge?
Thanks for the video. I've been looking at videos of the milwaukee m12 rotery tool which i didn't hear good things. I think I'll buy this Dremel 😀
I have so much trouble getting the battery out. I can’t squeeze it enough to make it come off. No hints?
How much metal cutting have you done? I am assuming some with your setup. I kill a lot of Dremels in the past. I current have die grinder though need another dremel for tight area.

Can you please tell me what is the power rating for the charger?
does the US version support 220v-240v input?
just got one of these only gripe is the speed slider button feels loose or almost no resistance when you move it back n forth, i thought i had a dodgy one but it seems thats the way it is.
Love your honest review - thanks
Great & Practical review. Thanks.
Hi you can’t get more detailed than that 😃👍awesome video thank you
If only every video was like this. 👍
What size bit does it take for cutting wood, drywall etc 1/8” or 1/4”?
FYI, half charged or a little bit less is great for keeping good Li-Ion battery life. Too much charged or too hot storage will diminish life. GREAT VIDEO !

Just used mine for the first time. I need a serrated knife so I used the metal cutting disc on one of my knives and it worked perfectly.
Does anyone know how to make a 1/4 inch chuck work with this?
Which is better between 8220 and 4300?
Cheers fella, great review.
I would like to see a torque comparison between the Dremel 8220 and Dremel 4000. Thanks for the video!
Great review Mike, thanks.

Turn down for what ?
thank you very good review
Hi I do have a question what is a good BLADE to cut stainless steel that would last longer ?
None
great report thanks
Dremel 8220 is on sale on Amazon for $80 currently, plus another 5% off with an Amazon charge card or account.
got one... love it
Love you expressions,, awesome review,, thank u
I think this battery and charger is the same as bosch 12v
Just bought one today fucking deadly , can do so much for such a small tool very accessible.👍
Great review I just bought one to hang some doors.
My jobmate rotary tool had a bit stuck in it so I had to rip apart the hole motor but it still works and I got the bit out
+Obro's everything that ain't bad if you got it fixed
Why are the brushes not an issue with the Dremel 8200 while on most other Dremels you have to replace them after 50 hours?
John Rain maybe it has a brushless motor. These are much better, but require more complex electronics.
I don't think it is brushless. I have a Bosch "Dremel". Same thing, you can't exchange the brushes but it's not brushless.
Good video 😀
Thank you for sharing :)
does anyone know where i can find a charger for it?
hiker melo I do know they share batteries with Bosch, so you could try googling that and see if they sell them
Thank you !

thanks dude
How long does the battery last when full charged?
About t 2 1/2 minutes tops.
XX YY he said 5 minutes so maybe you got a bad one.
Depends what you do with it. Big blue button says lock. You didn't mention it.
The EZ-disk does not come with the 8220.
"that fucker doesn't fit" lmfao 😂 btw great review👍🤘
nice review
has anyone said you sound like the guy from the jerky boys?
+Dave Grohl lol no. I'm gonna have been to listen to some now. Those guys sound NY as shit though.
Cordless is handy.
How long is a project ??
about as long as a rope
well that settles my decision then. thanks!
You’re high all the time, I mean you run that on high all the time? Very honest review of the 8220!
Ian Rhein I scrolled down the comments just for a comment on the “high all the time” part. Lol thank you
Oscar Maciel...Oscar! Hey man! Lol, of course I was kidding but I’m glad you saw so,e humor in that. :) Again, great review, I own one myself and love it...and Oscar...I run high all the time too...I mean I run my Dremel on high constantly too. Peace out!
I need to get 1 like that. I've owned 2 of the cheaper ones and they don't last very long. I was probably a little rough on them though.
tlott28 from my experience dremels last the longest
same run out the 3000's like sandpaper
