Morning Tony, well I've got up to a really wet dull day, but at least I'm assured it will dry later. What a lovely building that is going to look fantastic on the platform. People talk about signal box almost in passing, but what a feat of engineering they were, with all the leavers that enabled the signalman to change the points, and what a skillfull person he was. If he didn't get it right then it would be disastrous for the smooth running of a railway. You once again have recreated this bit of engineering accurately. That's very generous of you to give away on of your precious models and I would love to support you and enter your competition. So you keep yourself safe and see you on the next one Eddy xx
Mr Pull Leaver is the signalman.
    You counted the bricks.
And the doors are opening on opposite sides.
Somebody is going to be very lucky?
    Regards Eddy xx

Making two signal boxes almost identical takes not just skill but a lot of accuracy, the vent on top shows your eye for detail Tony. The windows are so neat , I can't see as much as a glue mark. One of the best shows on CZcams, the more I watch the the more your accuracy shows through(I'm no good at making an angled roof). I'm working on a tiny 3ft layout and I'm gonna use your techniques to have go at making one but it would be rude not to enter as it's really a bit of artwork.
    Right 1 Mr Pulleever
2 you counted the bricks on the old photo and converted that to mm in relation to the rest if the box.
3 the first lower door handle was on the right, the second on the left.
Thanks for sharing your modelling with us and congrats on the 5000 subscribers, always something to learn. All the best , Darren 😃

hey Tony thanks for another great railway biulding video. I love the little details you placed into the signal boxs especially the fireplaces.
my answers to your three questions are as follows
    1 Mr Pull lever
2 counted the bricks in your photograph which was about 6 bricks (about 14mm)
3 The two doors on the ground floor of the signal boxes have the door handles on the opposite sides to each other. Also one of the doors has the handle lower then the other.

Mr Paul Lever the name of your signalman.

Wow to build one signal box but to build two (almost) identical is at another level, your scratch building skills are second to none, well done. Excellent CZcams video Tony. Even if I don't win, I will certainly copy your build and make one myself. Not sure if it will be as good as yours but will be fun all the same. Now for my very public entry to your competition.
    1) Mr Pull Lever; 2) By counting the number of bricks allowed you to measure the chimney size; 3) The notable difference in the 2 models is the door handle of the basement door. On one model the handle is on the left, while the other is on the right as you look at it.
If you can make more scratch builds to your channel, then you have my vote every time. Thoroughly enjoyed your station build and prior to that the colliery build. All the best and stay safe, Mike

It would be great to add your signal box to my collection, so the answers to your competition questions are
    as follows:
    1. The signalman is called Mr Pull Lever.
    2. You worked out the size of the chimney by counting the bricks on the black and white photograph of the signal box with a magnifying glass.

    Hi Tony
Another great build. Your use of 2mm card does seem to make a very solid construction. They even sound solid. Have just completed the installation of led lighting to my station build using your catenary method. Worked really well. Very easy and neat.
Will you be incorporating the large water tower in the background? If nothing else these lockdown periods have introduced me to your videos which not only fill dreary days but impart great modelling ideas and techniques for which I thank you
Keep safe and well and keep modelling.

Another great video Tony. Lovely signal box, though you didn't put the veranda on i noticed, the signal man would typically use that to be able to clean the windows on the outside and wave flags (though they would also do that through the window too).

Good evening Tony, hope you continue to be well. That was another interesting video, though I suspect that by not showing a lot of the measuring and cutting you've given a completely false impression of the time you spent on these! The result is, as usual, impressive. As to your extremely generous competition:
    The signalman is Mr Pullever.
You worked out the chimney dimensions by counting bricks on the photograph using a magnifying glass.
The difference between the two signal boxes is that one has the handle of the lower door on the left, so hinges at the right, whilst the other has that handle at the right and hinges on the left (as do both upper doors).

Hi Tony, congratulations on 5000 subscribers, much deserved and a magnificent effort mate! I’ve ummed and ahhhed about entering because I model in N gauge but, I thought I’d enter though as although it couldn’t go on my layout it would take pride of place on one of my shelves in the cabin and I’d possibly make a diorama out of it. Answers are as follows
    Mr Pullever signalman’s name
Chimney dimensions by counting the bricks in the picture
Handles round different ways on the doors is the difference

Hi Kev. The doors you can get ready made. but you have to search for them. Ebay is a good place to start. for the windows if the photo shows a particular style. then it may also pay to look for them. but for your basic windows. you could make them out of 1.5 square plastic strip for the frame. and 1mm square for the windows themselves. good luck with the build...........Tony
