This week I wanted to share my thoughts on Taylor Swift’s most recent, and record breaking, album The Tortured Poets Department. Fans have been pouring over the meaning behind tracks like, Fortnight, Florida, Guilty as Sin?, Down Bad, But Daddy I Love Him, and So Long London. There has even been talk about how thanK you alMee is a Kim Kardashian diss with over 100,000 people unfollowing Kim after the song was released.
Fandom is important and it creates a relationship between artist and audience. What’s fascinating to me is when that relationship goes beyond the parasocial to a realm that is almost spiritual. You see stand defend their faces like they are their saviors and fan bases attacking each other like modern day crusades as they hold up their idols even when those same people try to stop the conflict.
When these emotions run high it can be terrifying to the point that critics of the album have asked publications to not include their name. As much as critics can overstep and sometimes build themselves up by tearing down someone else’s work, when have we gone to far when to even say a word questioning our newly anointed idols draws the same righteous indignation as the crusades?
I also talk about new money and how a lot of the idols gain their position from being our heroes in entertainment, and sports like NFL, NBA, NHL, and football around the world.

As much as I love his work, and I hope he’s enjoying it as much as it seems, every time I see his tour dates, podcast appearances, Daily Show appearances, etc I get a bit concerned. I want him to get rest, take care of himself, and be healthy. I admittedly don’t have the mind set for that work ethic so I maybe misunderstanding.
I am a 46yr old black woman...I became a swifty just last month after watching the Eras Tour on Disney+... that woman's pen is phenomenal. My favorite Era was Folklore but every single song was so beautifully written.

@@KaylaMarie_ funny thing is, I only did about 5 minutes the first time I watched, but on that 2nd attempt I got swept away by the visuals but i was doing my daughters hair and wasnt quite paying attention.. so I decided to make a third attempt at sitting down and watching 👀 it so I could enjoy all the visuals and then heard some things I liked....and then.... I listened and was absolutely amazed by her artistry as a musician and songwriter 🤯 #swifty

@@zoeysmith3009 agreed for sure i will be honest he used to remind me of jackson 5 Michael jackson and now he just has his own look as a comedian and his style has always been there he has evolved as a comedian overall. Another favorite was the gym set where he kept making the sound so it didn't seem like he had never lifted a weight before it was semi relatable because i was kinda awkward growing up too.

Hello Josh Johnson! I love your work! I live in the Philly 'burbs, and I'm thinking of going to one of the Helium shows - but I'm afraid I'd ruin it. Seriously, when I watch your sets on CZcams, I literally SCREAM with laughter - and that's when I can breathe, which I usually can't because I laughing so hard! I also snort, which is hella embarrassing. I mean, I'd be a great audience member (in that I find you one of the funniest people on the planet and would howl at everything you said) - but I think I'd be disruptive. So, CZcams hive mind - what say you? Yea or nay?

This is funny because I'm new poor lmao Our family used to be well off until the corona outbreak started, started working 9-5 jobs and at first I wasn't really used to it, I wasn't used to be told what to do, but from becoming Upper mid class to working class was a very humbling experience! I'm way more nicer and more understanding to other people now!
