It's always great when I read a post on the forum from a guy who is bald/balding and is in his 30's, 40's etc. Because it tells me that he has NOT fallen victim (just like myself) to all the reasons why should not have a hair transplant in your late teens/early twenties. You've covered them all Melvin and they all hit at your most vulnerable age. Late teens/early twenties. For those reading, I am 53 and at the ridiculous age of 18 I started to recede and just like Melvin stated, I too wanted a low hairline. Back then the only surgery being done was punch graft hair transplants. So by 19 I was left with a row of Barbie doll plugs of hair very low along my hairline. At this point I just wanted them out! Do yourself a favour and just listen to what Melvin has stated if you are in your early twenties. Today there is minoxidil, finasteride, etc to stabilize your hair loss. Most importantly as Melvin has said you are too young to know the pattern that your hair loss will take. So if you can hang in there to plan for the future you will get the results that you want. And on a last note any ethical doctor who is willing to perform surgery on you in your late teens/early twenties is only doing it for the money and will have no experince in giving you the results that you are looking for. Hindsight is a wonderful thing but for me luckily the gift of getting older is wisdom!

What if you use a hair transplant at a young age but ur proactive with topical finasteride to stop future hairloss
Still risky depending on your age and hair loss pattern
So how many grafts per sq cm is realistic? I have had two passes and feel I could use one more small pass. Always afraid of damaging the existing.
