    Some things that actually helped to control my hairfall include: (1) I discontinued wearing hair ties because it leds to tension breakage. (2) I started massaging my hair and scalp 2 times a week with liitleextra cocoonnion hair oil while bending over & holding my head upside down to allow blood flow to the scalp. (3) Protecting my head while moving out to shield my hair from dust and pollution. (4) Using gentle shampoo again from liittleextra only to wash my hair.

Should the dose be increased to 1mg everyday first to see if there is response, followed by introducing Dutasteride, or just straight away to Dutasteride?

    So assuming the donor region is good how would you go about hair transplanting diffuse thinners? Would you transplant in between thinning hairs? Would this lead to shock loss for both native and transplanted? Or do you just wipe the slate clean and densely populate the diffused region, irrespective of existing thinned hairs. This is never clear and I would like to get your opinion on this.

    Does the "pattern" on DPA means that it covers all the area on top of the head where eventually hair will be lost and you will be bald or it means that you will have a receding hairline, including temporal recession? In my case I have no receding at all, my front hair line remais the same, by I'm gradually thinning on top (in a diffuse manner). The hair on the sides and bavk of the head remais thick and abundant. In other words, my hair loss is widespread and diffuse but only on the the top and, I believe, the crown areas. Would that make it DPA? It certainly isn't DUPA. Plus, would I be suitable for a hair tranplant in this case, still with plenty of hair, although most of it is thin. Remember, my donor area is good, with thick hairs. Or will I have to wait until I lose all of my hair and have completely smooth/bald areas so I can get a hair transplant? I've heard about shock-loss, and I know that the native hair that I still have after a hair transplant will continue to thin and miniaturize. Would that lead to an unnatural look in the future, with sparse hair that was transplanted to that area?
    P.S.: I've been taking 1mg finasteride for 14 years and I'm 38 now. I haven't been using minoxil for some time, but have in the past and saw no improvement. Would dutasteride be a good option for me?
    Thanks in advance.

On the Norwood scale, I am between 2 - 2.5 and I have been using minoxidil for the past 5 months. I am of the opinion that it slowed down the receding process because I have an identical twin brother and he is not using any medication for hair loss and although we started hair loss at the same rate, his hair is as of now more deteriorated than mine (Norwood 2.5). So I’ve been on finasteride 1 milligram 3x a week for over 6 months and I still seem to be losing hair. Is this a sign the drug isn’t working? Should I increase my dose? I want to make sure finasteride is working before I add in minoxidil, is this a good idea?

My situation is, I don't see any kind of shaft thinning but i can clearly see my scalp visible as the density has decreased to a great extent. So what is causing this baldness. Is it the MPB or something else? Hoping for answer!

    Hi guys, I'm 20 and my hair is ok, but my girlfriend is starting to see some hairloss. She's Chinese and 39 years old, so I don't know if that changes anything with hair.
    On the front sides of her head near the temples, her hair looks lighter and empty, and she's been saying she's losing more hair in the shower. She doesn't take the pill because we know it has bad side effects, she takes multivitamins, not vitamin d though, exercises a lot and eats veggies and fruits often, so if it is due to diet, maybe she has less vitamin d or doesn't eat enough meat idk.
    But I think lately she's had a lot of stress with money, being stuck at home because of the virus, and family problems with her relatives. My guess, I'm not a doctor, is stress combined with the fact she uses a little too much shampoo, has been getting hot showers, has shampoo in her hair too long before rinsing it out, or because she uses a hot blowdryer. She doesn't smoke either. It's really taking a toll on her. What do you guys think? And what do you think is the best shampoo and conditioner for women?

    • @andrassoos2031
      @andrassoos2031 Před 3 lety

      Even oral saw palmetto is too weak to do anything against balding, you can imagine how useless it is when used topical. Zinc is the same. Don't waste time with these stuff. I did the same and I'm close to a Norwood 2 now. Start effective treatment (finasteride, minoxidil, topical anti-androgens like fluridil and alfatradiol, derma rolling, etc). as soon as possible.
